Name: Naomi Joan-Kiel Alias/Codename: Envenom Affiliations: Unaffiliated, formerly CIA Age: 23 Height/Weight: 5’6”/130 lbs. Appearance: Geared up to go In a tight spot Curvy and toned, Naomi’s figure is as enticing as it is deadly. Naomi is at the peak of a female human’s physical ability, and this healthy physique is very noticeable. She is built to be a fighter: strong, flexible, and with long limbs that have a good reach. Though her frame is somewhat small, the appearance belies her true physical power, which is easily above the average male. The only imperfection on her white skin are the blotches of color which seem to come and go on occasion, moving as if floating beneath her epidermis. Her face is pear-shaped, with a small chin and wide cheekbones. A small nose as well – which should be noted does not break very easily – manufactures a dainty, china-doll visage. Her large eyes, curved with long, black eyelashes, and large irises each with a cat-slit pupil, stick out in stark contrast to the rest of her small features. Despite the well-manicured appearance of her face, Naomi’s cyan-colored hair is slipshod and shoddily cut at about her shoulder-level. A girl in her line of work doesn’t have time to prep up, but she is a girl, so she opts for the “intentionally messy” style; she usually wears some sort of ski cap or ties her hair in a ponytail. Her clothes range from messy to hoboesque, but always follow similar lines of style: lots of layers, long sleeves, and long pants, little to no skin exposed. This is for precaution against her powers, should she lose control of them, ease (she’s much too busy/lazy to have to worry about dressing nicely, so she dresses comfortably in clothing that suits most northeast weather conditions), and to completely hide her skin-tight costume, which she wears at all times, under her clothing. Usually in the form of a one-piece suit without sleeves or pant legs, her costume can also range to sleeved arctic-wear which is designed to preserve heat. For stylization and protection, she wears an independent sleeve around each arm, and long boots of the same material reaching up to the middle of her thigh. The rubbery, skin-tight material is about half a centimeter thick, flame retardant, waterproof, and functions as bulletproof armor durable enough to stop a handgun bullet. It is also porous, allowing sweat (as well as her poison) to come through the material. Depending on the job, Naomi is often outfitted with a variety of tech, such as night-vision goggles, claws, knives, or sometimes firearms. Personality: The mutant Envenom is, at the crux of description, a bitch. She speaks harshly and her demeanor is cold and callous. She is naturally suspicious of others, and does not hesitate to cut, maim, or kill, any perceived threat. Envenom is an assassin to her bones – with little or no emotion, she carries out her responsibility quickly and efficiently. She acts as a bodyguard for Magus; get too close to her employer, and she might snap your neck. The woman Naomi Joan-Kiel, however, is secretly a tragic, if not clichéd, figure. She suffered many of the usual problems that befall mutants, and like many, chooses to deal with those problems by pushing them deep inside her and acting disdainful towards others. She likes being alone, watching nature, and humming when others aren’t listening. She feels a sort of big-sister complex towards Magus, or Joshua, and feels that, by doing his dirty work, she can keep his hands clean and protect his innocence. She feels that he’s really just a kid who isn’t as tough as he likes to think. Not that she regrets her line of work. Envenom loves to fight, and gets a kick out of the adrenaline rush from putting one’s life on the line. Killing gets messy, but that’s half the fun of it. Often, she reigns in using her powers in order to lengthen a fight or increase the danger. Perhaps Naomi Joan-Kiel was once just a normal girl, but a tough past and tutelage under the Radcliffe family has truly shaped her into a fighting machine. History: Naomi Joan-Kiel was born to a reasonably normal upper middle class family. From the time she was little, she was an extremely athletic girl. She participated in the school women’s basketball team, took karate lessons, was a member of track team, and excelled in gymnastics. Her grades were less stellar, mostly due to the overwhelming amount of her time dedicated to physical activities, but she was very bright. She moved ahead two grades when she was in seventh grade, starting high school when she was 13. Her father was a very conservative police officer, and gave her basic handgun training by the time she was ten, should she ever have to protect herself in such a fashion. Her mother was a housewife. Despite her pleasant upbringing, however, Naomi fell into a bad crowd, as some kids tend to do. They smoked, bullied the other kids, skipped classes, sprayed graffiti on the school building, and were generally punks. While young, Naomi was physically strong and matured. She had a boyfriend, who was the ringleader of their little group of troublemakers. He was an asshole, but he treated her well. He was also four years older than her. When she was 14, he took her to the prom as his date and, as sometimes happens after those things, they left early to “mess around.” They’d been dating for several months at that point, but had never engaged in intercourse. This would be her first time. They went to the parking lot and started doing it on the hood of his car. However, as they were beginning, she became nervous and changed her mind – she didn’t want to do it, she wasn’t ready. He refused. Her boyfriend became rougher, and when she tried to shove him off, he became forceful. Panicked, stressed, scared, and angry, Naomi unwittingly activated her latent mutant powers. Within moments, he was writhing on the ground, highly concentrated deadly poisons having seeped into his body in the course of sex. Naomi didn’t know what to do. She hardly understood what happened. But she knew that something really, really bad had happened, and that somehow it was her fault. So, she ran away. She learned later that her boyfriend had died from a mixture of toxins which doctors could not specify. Even later, a witness came forth, claiming to have seen the incident in its entirety and, as she stated, “Her skin became purple like she was sweating ink or something. Like, I don’t think he noticed, y’know, because he was so into it. But really soon afterward, he started yelling and fell backward. She ran off real quick, and so did I – it was scary, man.” The story, as well as the unusual nature of the poisons, seemed to indicate mutant activity being the underlying cause of the tragedy. The manhunt for Naomi to bring her home transformed into a manhunt to apprehend and arrest a dangerous mutant, as public sentiment quickly turned against Naomi in the face of the new evidence. Her father stated publicly that, as a police officer, he would bring “the mutant” to justice. With nowhere to go, Naomi simply hitchhiked as far away as she could. Eventually, she was picked up by a roaming biker gang. Having had experience with those types, she quickly got on their good side and joined them. Several of them were ex-cons or on the run from the law, too. They didn’t know her story beyond, “A guy tried to rape me, so I killed him,” which gathered enough sympathy from them. She was a member of the gang for a couple years. She became more accustomed to handling weapons, such as crowbars or knives, picking locks, and other nefarious activities which would aid her future exploits as an assassin. One day, they decided to go for the big haul. Get a load of money, you know what I mean? They were going to rob the Radcliffe mansion. The Radcliffes were well known around the area for being super rich, snobbish, and also super rich. A good hour ransacking the place could get the gang hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of valuable jewelry and loot. So, they snuck into the mansion in the dead of night, and broke through the windows. Obviously, they sounded the alarms. What happened the next ten minutes was chaos. There were lights flashing, blaring alarms, guard dogs barking, people yelling, and fighting. Naomi slipped into the house. It looked like the operation was a bust, but she could grab some precious valuables for herself and go on the run once more. However, she was not so lucky. As she looted one of the many rooms of the house, several figures appeared behind her. They were the personal guards of the Radcliffe family. With a swift punch, she was tossed aside. She tried to escape, but they surrounded her. So, for the second time in her life, scared, stressed, and panicked, her powers came alive. Caustic acid splashed on the face of one of the guards, and he went down screaming. They backed away from her, realizing that they were not just dealing with some ordinary thief, but a mutant. They simply raised their guns, and prepared to shoot her from a safe distance. That is, until somebody shouted, “Wait! Stop!” behind them. It was Joshua Radcliffe, the spoiled 14-year-old son of the Radcliffe family. He’d saw her display of abilities, and in the whimsical fashion that spoiled brats do, decided he wanted her, with her unique powers, as one of his guards. Given the choice of being the personal guard – though she hardly knew the first thing about it – of a rich brat, being allowed to live in luxurious digs, and being shot or sent to prison (or worse, back home), the choice was simple: the pragmatic Naomi made a quick decision to be agreeable. From that day on, she underwent intense training by the Radcliffe family to be capable of being the personal guard for their eldest son. She trained to be a proficient killer – a skilled assassin – as well as to control her powers. It was only six months before she was capable of accompanying Joshua as his guard. By the time she was 19, she was the strongest of any of the Radcliffe family’s personal guards. And today, she still works under the employ of Joshua Radcliffe. Additionally, her assassination skills have extended to private work. The Radcliffe family has many connections, and they hired Naomi, now code-named Envenom (Envenom, verb: “To make poisonous”), to even such organizations as the CIA. As she became more well-known in the underworld of assassins-for-hire, and as Joshua was strong enough to most often defend himself, she became capable of finding and being hired for her own jobs, for freedom and pay outside of the Radcliffe family’s control. Current Residence: Apartment in Washington, D.C. as well as Manhattan, New York. Powers: Envenom possesses the power to create a multitude of poisons within her body, which seep out of her skin, or mix in her saliva. The cause behind this is a special sub-dermal gland underneath her skin which produces poison and releases it from her pores. The glands are capable of creating several poisons naturally, but Envenom can create any poison at will, the only limitation being her knowledge of the poison’s composition. However, she also possesses an innate instinct for creating poisons with certain effects, as well as the ability to determine how to create a specific poison through contact with the substance. Poison created within her body can be dripped out of her skin secretively, or she can literally soak herself with poison flowing out of her pores. A simple wave of her hand can send incredibly potent droplets of poison spraying at the enemy, and she can spit poison moderate distances. She can protect herself through coating her body with viscous poison, becoming untouchable by most people who do not wish to experience a painful death. Highly concentrated venom: Poison of varying composition with enough toxicity to kill a person. Usually black, or extremely dark in appearance, using this poison noticeably blemishes her skin as the poison-coated area becomes dark. Contact on the skin won't kill unless the poison is not washed off within several hours, but injected into the bloodstream and the poison can kill a regular human within minutes. Its strength against mutants depends on a case-by-case basis, but it is usually extremely dangerous. Paralytic venom: One of the basic poisons created unconsciously within her body, this crystal-clear toxin will cause fast-acting paralysis after touching the victim’s skin. It is nearly impossible to see in midair, making it an ideal weapon for espionage circumstances. Seizure-inducing toxin: Varies widely in appearance from pales blues to greens to clear, but Envenom possesses a multitude of poisons which, basically, cause epileptic reactions, seizures, vomiting, coughing blood, defecation, and other nasty effects. It can take effect through contact or ingestion, depending on the poison. Acid: Envenom can create an extremely caustic acid which will burn through most metals (excluding special metals like adamantium and Colossus’s organic steel), plant life, flesh, bone, and clothing material. It is very viscous and gooey, though that’s the least of one’s worries if struck by it. And more… The amount of poisons and their effects that Envenom can ultimately create and use are vast. While the aforementioned poisons are what her body naturally creates, through conscious will she can concoct most poisons she puts her mind to, and any poison she has personally touched or ingested. Immunity: Envenom is immune to all kinds of chemicals and poisons. Rather, being poisoned by something new makes her stronger, because it adds another toxin to her repertoire of available toxins. By touching or ingesting a poison, she becomes automatically aware of its composition on an instinctual basis. Heightened senses: Naomi Joan-Kiel’s mutant powers extend slightly beyond her venomous nature, offering her enhanced physiological abilities, as often comes in packages with mutants; in this case, finely tuned senses: greater hearing, sharper eyesight, stronger olfactory organs, and heightened taste and tactile ability. Physical Ability: Envenom possesses peak human level speed and agility. Power Development: Envenom's abilities are pretty much fully developed. The more poisons she is exposed to over time, the stronger she will get. Eventually, she will be capable of coagulating her poison as it is secreted to create blades or throwing weapons. Other Skills: - Jujutsu: The "art of softness," useful against large opponent who otherwise could not be injured. - Brazilian Jiu-jitsu: Good for ground fighting and close grapples. - Taekwondo: For kicking ass, plain and simple. - First aid: Envenom possesses knowledge of basic first aid. Equipment: Envenom's equipment is nearly never consistent or standard. She receives or acquires what is needed for a specific job, and discards it once the operation is finished. This kind of equipment can range from breathing gear to infrared/night-vision goggles, handguns, sniper rifles, blades, grenades, smoke bombs, flash bombs, pick-locks, or computer equipment. She does, however, always possess her personal finger-claws, as well as a bowie knife strapped to her thigh. She usually has a smoke bomb or two on hand. Fighting style: Close and personal. Envenom's abilities make her capable of quickly taking out many targets without a fuss, but that isn't how she likes to play. Brutal assassination and melee-fighting, clawing and gutting the opponent, is her preferred game. Quick and silent, but messy. Edited by Mechanical Karasu, Apr 5 2009, 03:10 AM.

I still have to finish (start >>) her personality and history, but could you look over her powers and stuff, and what I've done so far, and see if it's okay? I'm really not sure about what is or isn't acceptable in Marvel/X-Men. Shogs said her poison might be too fast-acting. |

This is much too strong in my opinion. Like I mentioned earlier, you need some kind of device to focus her poison. Secreting it from her skin and then "throwing" it at someone would be pretty much like lethal sweat, which it basically is. Super, super, super lethal sweat. It can kill people, but not on contact with skin.
This is not a skill. Regular human beings cannot become equal to Captain America in more than one area, at least not through regular training. Add it to power and tone down her durability to peak human, which is still plenty. The rest looks good

This looks good to me, I'll leave the decision up to Jekai. I see no reason why she would have above average strength and durability. Let's settle for speed and agility. That's my only complaint. Also, working for RATcliff is gay. |
