HQ Dark Colors DT for Vergil

Was going to release this with the Beowulf DT glow on his body working right but no luck. Just like with most of Dante's DT forms, the glow doesn't work properly so the alpha channel just makes him transparent. I'll have to toy around with drawing the glow right onto the texture and try to make it look decent.

Don't worry about it, I'll give you a quick rundown. I hope this is simple enough English that you can understand.

Normally the largest textures in DMC3 don't go over 256 pixels wide or high. If you have a 1080p monitor screen, the native resolution is 1920 (wide) x 1080 (high) pixels. You could fit around 31 squares that are 256x256 pixels in that resolution, so that's how low quality most LARGE textures are in the game. Most textures don't even go higher than 128 pixels.

So if you were to double that square to 512x512 pixels, you're doubling the potential detail onto the texture, hence why I refer to this as High Quality (HQ) textures. Sadly, the graphics engine won't accept textures that are higher than 512 pixels wide or high, because it was originally intended for the Playstation 2, which didn't output a screen resolution any higher than 640x480.

High Definition (HD) is what most textures have been in games for many years, including DMC4, and that's any texture higher than 1024x1024 pixels. Like I said though, DMC3 cannot use textures this large, it will simply crash if it tries to load anything larger than 512x512 pixels.

In short; if you see HQ on the title of the mod, it is an updated texture.

The texture i did for Dante is 1024x1024, 2048 crashes, didn't try anything in between yet, gotta check.

The game has always crashed for me when I attempted that, but it should be noted I tried it on the default costumes for both twins (and on weapons), so I've never tried it on DMC1 Dante. I've also tried anything between 512 and 1024, crashes as well.

Either way I don't think it's necessary to go over 512 pixels, not even for character models.
