This has been a huge help! This is my first time actually doing a mod. I remember how fun it was to play others' mods during the Morrowind days, and I wanted to get back into it

google translate works just fine once you get the basic idea of how stuff works from flairdark's stuff

changing the timing of effects can be done, the end of the .efl file has a pattern where it segments each effect into a 'lil zone following a pattern starting from 01 (as shown in the image). above that identifier you just edit the value shown to change the timing for each segment of the effect. i don't know what the value exactly is, but i can say that you wanna generally keep it under 20? i just used 03 as a base replacement here

also noting that you can change the shape/texture of an effect to some degree- if they use the same texture, then they have the same formatting so you can copy/paste the relevant section over and replace it wholesale.
that's how i got the orb for the judgement cut
just found out that you can change the angle of an effect near there too

its exactly 3 lines below the counting ( 01, 02, etc) in that case "00003F20"

i replaced the whole line of Yamato-B (last hit) with Yamato-A DT end slash and got this

little "knowledge" update^^

after reading flemias stuff and a bit experimenting.....

RGB/CYMK marker : its not only 00-01 / 05-06, its 00-04 / 05-08 = the higher the more saturation (or "thickness") of the color ( in most cases 02 is already too much ;D , !but! very useful for identification of effect parts!)
transparency : right next to the RGB/CYMK marker (in FlairDarkSlayer example = line 00001c40 = value 42 ) (FF = invisible !useful to get rid of certain parts of an effect! )

effect property : the problem with 42 ("heavy distortion") makes everything white/black no matter the color code, solution: set the transparency to 50 and you get the color back

example:
Force Edge overdrive

btw the purple lightning explosion at the end is a mess^^
