This is a trainer made with Cheat Engine (6.4) which is a false positive as malware for some anti-virus softwares. If you're curious why, read here. If it disappears randomly, chances are your anti-virus software has auto-quarantined it.

This trainer has been updated and extended for DMC4SE.
It remains compatible with standard DMC4.

Issues:
  • Trainer can not detect whether the game is paused. Do not pause the game while you have the trainer & effect active, you may end up with 0 Devil Trigger.
  • There is no aesthetics for the effect- the source is provided and you are free to add those, and/or ask a modder (not me) for a texture to be overlayed onto the screen (with Cheat Engine's DirectX hook), et al.

Usage: Same format as other trainers.

  • Relies on initialization file to differentiate between different version of Devil May Cry 4.
  • Can be launched before or after DMC4 has been opened.
  • Will reattach to game if DMC4 has restarted.
  • Does not handle multiple instances of DMC4.
  • Second window shows what it's up to- there's nothing to do in the entry field that Cheat Engine tends to include.


Initialization file syntax:

  • ';' - Text after it indicates comment, which is disregarded by the trainer and solely for your personal notes.
  • ProgramDX9= - After this tag, you put in the executable name for Devil May Cry 4 DX9; do not include file path.
  • ProgramDX10= - Like above, but for Devil May Cry 4 DX10.
  • ProgramDX9D= - Same, but for the Debug Mode version of DX9.
  • ProgramDX10D= - For Debug Mode version of DX10.
  • Key= - Intended so you can change what key you want to have the effect triggered by.

I think some neat set ups on Scarecrows are:
Shuffle -> Quicksilver -> Calibur -> etc
and
Stinger -> Drive! (3x) -> Quicksilver -> Trick Up -> Rainstorm -> etc

once this becomes a full mod with proper effects and pause functionality working , itll be epic, hell might as well make a doppelgangerstyle while youre at it , so we have both most missed styles back

Doppelganger already exists, though it's only for DX9; I'd be willing to help it come to DX10 and Debug versions if I had the chance.

As far as the effects go, the most I can do about it is overlay some images and colors onto the screen with Cheat Engine's DirectX hook. I certainly know that part is available for DX9, but not so sure with DX10, haven't checked.

Can't we just invert the renderer? Like... Every channel's value is subtracted from 255 (0xFF)? Or we could just use this to make a cool effect.

Is not much to work off of. I recall running into nothing, or something completely different if I simply went to 00976D58 in Memory Viewer; I think I did try DevilMayCry4_DX9.exe+(00976D58 - 400000), but similar kind of results.

I could do those lighting effects and the lack of aesthetics would be resolved.
And if I could find where that instruction is, based off what was posted, to actually set a breakpoint and get the value of ESI, get a pointer for myself from a static address, and etc that would easily be one off from my to-do's.

All of my work is done in DX9 Debug executable. Always. That's to make sure everyone can make my trainers work, all they have to do is install debug patch if they don't have it already (which everyone should I think).

PS: Also because I hate DX10 and 10.1. Now DX11 is another thing...

Oh, I do have the debug mode patch installed, I still keep and use the regular DX9 one because there's other stuff that simply doesn't work with the debug mode's executable.
I only really use debug mode with DX10.

While I'm waiting for SE to download, I'm going to give another look.
