Hi, I always would lurk around here, but I never really got my lazy ass up enough to try making mods... until I got too bored to not. I edited some colors of Dante's effects, but haven't done all of them yet though. I don't know if I will. Originally, I never thought I would try hex editing, but it turns out it's really fun! I would love some criticism on the destractiveness or ugliness of the colors, if noticeable. I would also like to change Dante's clothes' colors, but I don't really know how to venture into that yet. I guess I'll keep snooping around the arc files. Oh, and of course, I'm going for a yellow-gold theme, but not really and electrical theme either. If I wanted that, I would'v just swapped DT Stinger with Royal Release. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4je4Jcd1-c There are screens in the video too. I also forgot Million Stab in the video, but I colored that too. Actually, I would like to point out that I figured out how to identify the ambient lighting effect for some of the moves, like DT Stinger and Jealousy. I couldn't find that info on the post about editing effects, so I just tinkered to frustration. Crap! I forgot to say thanks to all the guys who made posts about the effect IDs and everything I needed to edit these colors. Edited by Komealvi, Apr 5 2015, 06:38 AM.

Whoa, those effects are awesome. I really like the yellow effects especially. Btw, Crucifix gave me this link to a more complete list of the effect files if that helps: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Ftieba.baidu.com%2Ff%3Fkz%3D870955179 Some of the translation doesn't make much sense but you can use the translation alongside the thread here to figure out which one is which. |

Thanks! I actually used that link as well, as it was posted in the effect editing tutorial post, rather than the effect ID post. The effect ID post definitely helped translating some of it though. I've figured some more effect IDs out, so maybe I'll post in that File ID thread and see if the OP can update it. The only problem with my yellow Rebellion effects, minus Prop Shredder, is that they don't look that great in well-lit areas, like Bloody Palace and outdoors. Some areas, like the beginning of stage 11 where Nero fought Dante, the yellow swing effects totally glitch out and just.. look odd. But overall, I'm sort of satisfied with what I've got. |
