1.) Ok, so that isn't the issue. 2.) The name is supplied in the text file. It's very similar to an .ini file. You just have to check the names in myconfig.txt or whatever you have named your text file and compare it with the executable you are launching. 3.) Currently, there's no key rebinding. But I'm asking if DMC4 is found by the program (as indicated by "Found DMC4!"), whether pressing CTRL+F2 will light up the buttons (represented as numbers next to dots) in vJoy Monitor. Green is for not-pressed, purple is for pressed. However this clearly isn't the case as indicated by ... 4.) If you type in only the program name in the command prompt, you likely did not supply any names for DMC4 which means the program can not attach to DMC4 and will not send inputs that will be reported by vJoy's monitor. "DMC4_KEY2DEBUG-2.exe < myconfig.txt" essentially means send contents of myconfig.txt through standard input to the program DMC4_KEY2DEBUG-2.exe. As long as the contents of the file are valid, you can send a file with any other name. |

ahh i see! In the text file, it says these things: Program does not care about this line! ProgramDX10=DevilMayCry4_DX10.exe;program does not care about this text! ProgramDX9=DevilMayCry4_DX9_Debug.exe Blank line tells the program to stop reading. My executable file that i'll be launching is named : DevilMayCry4_DX9 - Shortcut Do i need to change the third line in the text file to this exact name above? (Does the shortcut part matter?) Then in the cmd prompt when i go to type in "DMC4_KEY2DEBUG-2.exe < myconfig.txt" will this fix the "Cannot be found" error it gives me? |

You likely need to change the third line (because it's how I renamed my debug executable); however do not change it to the shortcut's name, rather the file that the shortcut is targeting. This has nothing to do with the "Cannot be found" error- which is Windows saying whatever file you are trying to use in the command line does not exist. |

Okay so i tried renaming the third line: 1. I changed : "ProgramDX9=DevilMayCry4_DX9_Debug.exe" to "DevilMayCry4_DX9" (Which is the original file name which i launch the game), i also tried "ProgramDX9=DevilMayCry4_DX9.exe" (And tried without the exe, not sure whether it would make a difference but the first time i changed it is exactly the same name to the file i launch the game with). And so it still gave me the error that the file cannot be specified 2. If windows is saying that the file i'm trying to assign does not exist (Which is the text file right?) doesn't that mean the name i'm putting into the cmd prompt of the text file is not the same to the text file i have in my folder? (But they are exactly the same : myconfig.txt) Edited by Jaffa, May 21 2015, 12:29 PM.

1.) You should include .exe. Append: "The system cannot find the file specified." is outputted by Windows, not the program. It refers to the name of the text file, not the executable file for DMC4. 2.) If you're in the right directory e.g not C:/(Your Username)>, but your directory for DMC4_KEY2DEBUG, and the names are exactly the same, this shouldn't be the case. Are you typing the entire name manually or using tab completions? Edited by Hydris, May 21 2015, 12:40 PM.

Success!! So i changed the name in the text file to : "ProgramDX9=DevilMayCry4_DX9.exe" Then i used tab completions, yeah i think that was the problem, plus my files had double .exe and .txt for some reason (maybe i renamed them after they were already text files..etc) I opened the cmd prompt and done everything, after opening DMC4 it said "DMC found" But when i get to the bloody palace part, Ctrl + F2 does nothing, i looked at my Vjoy monitor and no colours come up or really nothing happens, here's a screenshot: http://gyazo.com/d881b85503f07be7a8023161661d0a01 - That's all i see when i press Ctrl + F2 (copy and paste the link) Edited by Jaffa, May 21 2015, 12:47 PM.

Check your vJoy version with the version of the interface you are using. If you have vJoy version 2.0.5, you should not have a vJoyInterface.dll that is version 2.0.4 (rename the files if that is the case). Both 2.0.4 and 2.0.5 interfaces are included with the download and are labeled with -204 or -205. Edited by Hydris, May 21 2015, 12:52 PM.

Alright 1. yeah i had version 2.0.5, so i changed the Vjoy interface thing so that it didn't show the -205 one (this means im using the -205 one right?) like this? http://gyazo.com/36d6f223799009fca0b5c60cb0213336 2. i assume that i am right because i opened the game again and when it got to the menu when it shows "play, performance run..etc" it kept cycling through all the options really quickly like up and down. I went to my Vjoy configure thingy and i have these settings: http://gyazo.com/79394f4b8404792f59a12ed3ab99f8dc Are they right? Edited by Jaffa, May 21 2015, 01:02 PM.

1.) Yes because the .dll actively being used will be vJoyInterface.dll with no deviations. 2.) As far as I know, the Axes don't matter in this case because you will only be using the buttons and the 4-direction hat switch (which in your screenshot you have it set to continuous). I did come across rapid cycling on a fresh install of vJoy earlier and I'm not 100% sure if what I did was a fix or just a workaround, or if it's an issue on my end or the driver. I'm going to upload the newer executable soon and hopefully rapid cycling doesn't trigger in any case. Append: Try this one http://www.mediafire.com/download/fk58a7x7znompad/DMC4-KEY2DEBUG-FRESH.exe Edited by Hydris, May 21 2015, 01:10 PM.
