Update: Still not kidnapped by NT Developers.

Lots of school work so I got a bit sidetracked, currently working on my Master's Thesis. I'm doing my thesis on computer animation, on characters specifically.
Once and a while I was still checking to continue my work on the model converter, but the library I was planning to use is still not updating. :iunno:

I think I might write the converter in C++ instead as the libraries for that language are more complete. Also because this last semester we started having courses in C++, I still need some more practice in C++ so this might also be a good project to practice on. The following weeks I probably won't be working a lot on it, because I need to hand in papers and finish school projects by halfway december. But after that I have about 4 weeks to 'study' for my midterm exams in january, probably going to develop some more during the free time I have then.

As for the building models, I noticed the building models are not started in the same format as characters and weapons. Which will require me to probably reverse engineer more file formats of Devil May Cry in the future.

Just thought to give you guys/girls an update.
One more question, would anyone be interested in me streaming my development process, on twitch or something for example?

I would, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch it, so you should record the stream (I think twitch had an option like that).
You're reaping what you've sown!

I have resurrected

I'm back after lots of school work, just got my degree last week. So now that I'm officially graduated, I can focus more on my hobby's.
Been looking through my research to pickup where I left off, probably will take some time to get used to it again though.

A change of plan, at first my goal was to make a third-party exe to convert the DMC4 model format in. As my primary programming language was C++, but now I think it might be better to build a plugin for 3D modelling software to remove the hassle of downloading/using extra software.
However the problem with this is that I need to learn a new API for the specific program I will be building the plugin for.

Currently leaning more towards a Blender Plugin written in Python. The Blender software is free so that means anyone can still use it.

Anyway just wanted to let you guys know, I'm still alive and the project is still hanging around in my mind. I'll keep you posted on future progress. :peace:

...
Yeah...
But hey, you could try making the script a native 3DS Max plugin. But that'd be... kinda pointless. Oh, so you're doing it for Blender?
