For me Nero's Table Hopper was the pain, but when I mastered it a little, it helped with the timing for Royal Block in RoyalGuard style (Except Blitz, when he shoots that energy shock, that hits you few times if you don't avoid it. And Dante, when he is doing combos with Rebellion or Lucifer. Then you have to tap the button with good timing.) Still the suggestion "Train as much as you can" is the best one, learn the attacks of enemies, find a ways to avoid them or do a fast counterattack, and just like other suggest - Jump Canceling (required Enemy Step ablility). Try not to over do the training though, I find that sometimes after not playing for awhile that my skills improved on their own without playing. Even more than constantly playing loads. When I try to actually train, or play it a lot in one go to improve, I find my skill doesn't actually rise very much and it's as though I hit a limit wall. It feels kinda tedious to actually play to improve skills, mucking around works best. Even RG can be a pain to train if you just disable enemy deaths and spend ages with scarecrows, you'll find yourself missing most of them compared to if you just played normally. Well that's how it is for me at least. Vibration in the controller when you get hit unconsciously trains your RG timing too. My RG btw is super accurate though(if you don't count minor slips like in the contest against Berial). Maybe the key to DMC skill is balance of meditation and practice xD |

I think it has something to do with freeing your mind up, because during training your focusing too much on one thing. But when you return you aren't focused much on anything specific and moves just flow out from what you'd learned without thinking too much about any certain one. Like when I played dmc constantly from the day I bought it, I never could get very good at Dante because of getting too used to Nero in the play throughs until I took time away. |

FUCK OFF.

That's exactly what my problem was. When I first saw some entries for Truestyle Tournament 4, the gameplay (especially Dante's) that was shown there simply blew my mind. But when I was watching it, again and again, I was also thinking of the way to perform those awesome moves at the same time, and I figured that it wouldn't be that hard to do them. But, again, that's what I THOUGHT - because things seem to be pretty easy to do... in your mind. When I first played DMC4 from that time, it took me a few weeks to perform ONE simple combo with jump canceling. I was really disappointed by how hard it is to do... After all, I've already thought about everything that I need to press... But thinking of them is one thing - doing those things in real game is another cup of tea. Still, I didn't give up and simply practiced, and practiced, and practiced... Until I've reached my current skills level, which you can see in my videos on my YouTube channel or on my Xfire profile.
