So i prefer DMC 4 because it gives me tons of fun (especially Dante, Nero less) but DMC 3 have epic story, better cutscenes and...young Dante :D

I choose 3, 4 just feels so much slower and more sluggish. It's harder to chain things since they're less cancel-able and the jump cancel\just guard don't even work 100% of the time and randomly fail(it's like they put a cool down on it). But in 3 I feel so much more free, jump cancel to my hearts content if I want to, the buttons are far more responsive.

With 4 even when I'm in JC range it randomly decides to use air hike instead, or I could set up a simple move on the enemy to use over and over with a well timed cycle then randomly I fall to the ground or not attack. I can even slow it down with debug and it still randomly have moves that fail to go off. Feels like there's been a limitation applied to the old freedom of input. I could say so much more, but then it would get too long, so I leave it at that.

But, you're the strongest, if you have sandwich within yourself.

Yeah I kinda noticed that when DMC 4 came out and was wondering why DMC 4 was slower still its an awesome game.

As for DMC 3 the buttons like you said they are alot more responsive and its alot easier to Jump Cancel DMC 4 not as easy well if you play as Nero its easy, as for Dante not so easy but that's just me.

It's much easier with Nero because of his DB, if you try to do the 1 hit then JC over and over again like people would do in dmc3 with rebellion+sword master, usually no matter how well timed you are, somehow you end up jumping higher than the enemy and missing even if you clicked it immediately(like with the same perfect timing you'd use in dmc3).

However the pro dmc4 players don't seem to be affected by much of what I stated, but the random fails just make me annoyed when I try to practice. I know that 2 hit JC then another 2 hits works for Nero though, but you can't stay in the air and fall slowly with an enemy in dmc4 as you would in dmc3. It might just be a physics difference in games though(not counting the weird input fails).

eh~ its not that hard for me :P for me, its more funny to JCing in dmc4 than 3
many combo like - Darkslayer to trickster to darkslayer, or my fave combination is trickster, pandora, and lucifer.
in dmc4, try to attack first then start to jc-ing (sorry, easy to say for me)

Yea I know the rules to JC, JC just doesn't always work when it should. Lucifer is pretty easy to JC with though, I'm able to launch, land a few SM rebellion+some DS, jump up while shoot charge shots then use rainstorm followed by w/e starfall is called in dmc4 then lucifer on them once or twice then go back to the first two(where if it works I'd usually let one finish instead so I can skystar then starfall again). Only usually it randomly just fails(I don't swap guns often though so I don't use pandora alot for aerial stuff).

My button clicking style might not work so well with dmc4 though, I usually click the move almost the same exact time as the JC, however dmc4 doesn't like lots of buttons being clicked so close together it seems. So longer aerial animations would be more suitable to get around that(like lucifer and pandora). One of the infernal works players did a run through m11 with Dante managed to do everything together as if it were dmc3 without the dmc4 limits though.

My button clicking method isn't the seesaw trick I know some people use, I hold my thumb tip directly at the button and click slide from A to Y(X to /\) really fast and it works perfectly in dmc3. I just find the seesaw requires more thinking about coordination(since it's 2 different parts clicking different times) so my gap between the JC and attack feels much shorter so that I don't rise or fall at all(at least not in dmc3) however even with my quickness the height levels still change in dmc4 QQ. Maybe cissney can share me the knowledge on how to play like you're playing dmc3 while playing dmc4 :D

heh, okay.
dmc3 is more hardcore than dmc4, stinger to wildstomp, etc.
but when you know dmc4 JC-ing timing, dmc4 combo is hardstyle too :D
especially when you know style switch and weapon combination with JC-ing as base moves
anyway, im uploading vid :D
[Edited]
simple vid but maybe you can learn somethin' :D
