1. Mission 01 Birds of a Feather - The idiom "birds of a feather" is from the proverb "Birds of a feather flock together", meaning that similar people congregate. In old poetic English, "birds of a feather" means birds which have the same kind of feathers, so the proverb refers to the fact that birds congregate with birds of their own species. The chapter name probably refers to a meeting of Dante and Nero, as both of them are in many ways similar. 2. Mission 02 La Porte de l'Enfer - La Porte de l'Enfer (The Gates of Hell) is a monumental sculptural group work by French artist Auguste Rodin that depicts a scene from "The Inferno", the first section of Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy". It stands at 6m high, 4m wide and 1m deep and contains 180 figures. The figures range from 15cm high up to more than 1m. Chapter name refers to Berial, who depicts a truly hellish creature which is also the first boss in the game. He comes out from a flaming portal on the tall, black demon-gate. 3. Mission 20 La Vita Nuova - La Vita Nuova (The New Life) is a medieval text written by Dante Alighieri in 1295. It is an expression of the medieval genre of courtly love. The chapter name probably refers to Nero chivalrously pursuing Kyrie in order to save her (and maybe start together a new life). 4. Bianco Angelo & Alto Angelo - In Italian it respectively means White Angel and High Angel. 5. The names of the characters who are part of the Order of the Sword (other than Nero) are all movements of the Ordinary Mass in Catholic worship: Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Angus (Dei). By going into Agnus' character code and looking through his textures, we can see that the heading on the clip board he's always writing on reads "NERO=DANTE?" Perhpas Agnus was already entertaining the idea of substituting Dante with Nero in creating the savior's core. |
