Is there a process for this? I have an emulator downloaded that can allegedly play the DMC PS2 games, however I haven't installed it yet. Since I'm not the biggest fan of late gen emulators, I'm hoping to avoid it entirely. Is there a program anyone knows of that can data mine the PS2 disks themselves without the emulator? And if not, has anyone done this before through an emulator? I already know texmod is going to have some issues with my system, so that's out of the question. Is there something else that can get textures from a game in progress or something? I know getting textures off the PS2 discs is not an impossible thing. Folks have done it before. I just don't know how. Would anyone here know? ^^; By the way, I'm looking into it now so if I answer my own question, I'm still interested in replies since I'm likely to find the most difficult way imaginable to get this done. If someone knows a simple way, I'd love to hear it. Scratch that. I can't find a way to do it. I tried making an ISO from the discs (since I have a program that will extract iso files) but every iso program crashes (maybe cause its a 2 disk game? Dunno. I get different errors), even ones they show working for this very purpose on various sites. I even tried brute force method of copy+pasting the .bin files from the game disc to my HDD and that just crashes windows explorer! Blat. Yet another thing I can't figure out to add to the debug mode frustration. Mebbe I should give this whole modding stuff up. I apparently have no sodding clue what I'm doing.

I'm just guessing, but pcsx2 + gsdx directx 9 plugin + 3Dripperdx should do the trick.
Sounds like you need another copy of that game, that one's a goner.
Bah, 80% of modders have no idea what they're doing. |

I'll check those programs out. I hope its not the game D: It did the same thing on both discs. Stopped at around 8-10 percent. I haven't played it though, so I dunno if it could actually be the game. :/ It was a used copy, tho. |

I've doing some research, and those work for texture ripping. Though for models is a whole new story. You need to use Zero' plugins(doesn't work for me) and it seems that Gs make your models flat, and impossible to edit. There is a solution for this but I quite don't get it, it goes like this " take a capture for the front, and other for the side, then edit them so they match". If some one knows more on how to rip from pcsx2 please inform. |
