With FFXIV right around the corner, I'm curious if anyone is planning on playing it. I've been playing FFXI for near about 6 years now (not as actively as I used to, mind) but am so sodding excited for FFXIV. FFXI is the only MMO I play right now though, so I wonder what all you guys play if anything. Maybe list your characters and servers too? In case anyone else plays the same game. Also this could be a good thread to discuss the various ones on the market or coming to the market. No game wars plz tho. I play Kyleet the hume female Dragoon/Bard/White Mage/Black Mage on the Valefor server in FFXI. :3 My other characters are Sillabub, Valaineral and Ellifain. |

Retired from DMC4 modding. For the forseeable future, anyways.

I sorta gave up on MMOs because all the free ones had really crap communities, with barely any exceptions and I don't have the money to pay for monthly subscriptions. Besides, point and click really gets old quickly. >< I tried out the Divine Souls beta recently though, and it looks promising. Edited by Vertigo, Aug 6 2010, 04:33 AM.

FUCK OFF.

I tried to play WoW a few times on some private servers, but eventually always got fed up with them between 40 and 50 lvl. Dunno if it's because of instability of such servers, long queues to log in or simply because I feel just bad playing a P2P MMO on private servers. Now, after playing ME2, I really feel like playing some space-sim, so for now I want to check Jumpgate Evolution. I think this is going to be nice. |

I haven't played much mmos, but I have played lineage 2 for quite a while. It almost always has a crappy community, but thats probably what stimulates you to find a nice group of people and rain hell on everybody else. The only MMO I have played that has a nice community was Aion and I was really surprised about that, since its made by NCsoft (creators of lineage) For me, the only way to enjoy MMOs is with a group of people. It gets frustrating if you're alone. |

Frankly, I haven“t played any MMOGs in six years (I was thirteen last time). Lately, however, a few upcoming ones appeared which look quite interesting: Vindictus, because depending on which class you choose it either plays like Monster Hunter or DMC (Not exactly, but close enough to get me pumped), plus it's free (You only get to play if you live in the US, Canada or Oceania, which is nowhere close to where I live but still...). Tera, because of the sheer amount of awesomness (Not gonna be able to play it either, but still...). And Guild Wars 2, because it looks like they're really trying to bring cool new stuff to the table (Of course, won't be playing this one). |

I might have to check out that Vindictus thing. WoW never appealed to me cause I didn't like the character designs. I did play L2 on a few private servers back in the day. But yeah, not having anyone to play with stinks. Especially in games that have free-roaming pvp like L2 and some parts of WoW. I'm not a pvp fan at all. At least not in the way most folks see it. FFXI has PvP in a game-in-game sense, with Brenner, Conflict and Conquest. :3 I don't mind those so much cause its just for proving your worth and doesn't actually take anything away from the losing party, and you both gotta sign up for it. A lot of our buddies are dropping their current MMOs for FFXIV. So it looks like we're gonna have a lot of fun in it. I can't wait. |

Currently I'm not actually playing any MMOs actively. I played Guild Wars for some time, got myself all the campaigns and the addon but only managed to complete Nightfall which is actually the last campaign but the first one I bought. As I'm a PvE focused player some might get confused by me playing Guild Wars as it's rather a PvP game where you fight..well...as the name says with your Guild against other Guilds. But I definately have to say that the PvE part of the game is pretty awesome and I love the game. Need to finish it before Guild Wars 2 is released because as soon as I get Guild Wars 2 I won't have time for any other games, because it's gonna kick the ass out of the other MMOs (I actually don't know that much about FF XIV since I refuse to pay monthly for playing MMOs). |

I'm waiting on divine souls to go into CB2 if it ever does. Not sure about Vindictus anymore but I'm still waiting on that too. Blade&Soul looks very promising, probably because I think it will end up being like guildwars was in terms of pay once then play forever without any OP CS players so I'll definitely play that, it looks like it will probably be better than vindictus. I played alot of f2p games since I'm not really into p2p but I tried the city of heroes trial that came with guildwars and I really enjoyed it, seeing as it's 1st expansion just came out I think it's an ideal time to join if I ever do, which I'm really considering. I got invited to some CBs for a bunch of f2p games that I would probably have tried out by now if my net didn't decide to slow down yesterday till the 13th. I mostly played kingdom heroes since I joined the CB since f2p games are pretty awesome around their just released times. I'll probably be jumping around betas for f2p games till one of the mentioned games or guild wars 2 come out. The MMO I have stuck to are the competitive ones I've tried though like fps games. |

I played Lineage 2 for not too much time at official russian server. But, like RazoR said, "It almost always has a crappy community" and I dropped it (yes, russians almost always horrible players). I really liked play EvE, it is pretty hardcore (i think this is right word) but i can't payed for subscription. Therefore, i played in SF4 and RE5 (though they aren't MMO)) before i "lost" my PC. |
