After putting to rest the search for my great grandfather Ted Clark's war records I was moving on to his daughter in laws family (my grandmother) Gladys Urquhart, her grandfather William Urquhart had a sister Jane who married Colin Mckenzie and I've just been filing in their children to the family tree and one of them, a son Colin Mckenzie enlisted in 1916 in West Australia service number 1877 and seems he was with the 33rd battalion (and for some time the 44th) I've just had a quick look online I'm wondering if he may have boarded in Albany West Australia to head to England as I recall we had some kind of 100 year celebration not too long ago. I also wondered if I'm correct in thinking the 33rd may have been in the same area in Ypres that my great grandfather Ted was in while he was with the RGA until he was wounded in September 1917. I just thought if so how interesting perhaps they may have even crossed paths maybe he met so many Aussies that's why he migrated here in 1927? Any way I just wondered if any of you might have any knowledge of the 33rd battalion Australian Imperial Forces? Any help appreciated. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. reference: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/74854525 animated introduction video |
