Ilmatar is an original high fantasy role play for intermediate-to-advanced role players. Here, we welcome original characters, and hope to provide plots for everyone to be involved in. There are four main kingdoms to choose from to play in, as well as opportunities to play your own or "canon" characters. -------- Magic is disappearing. In what was once a magic filled land where the magic users were looked up to and respected as though they were members of the royal families, magic has begun to disappear from the fingertips of the mages and druids in the Zephyr kingdom. Those who were once strong, famous magic users have now become weakened. The cause of this is unknown, but as more magic begin to lose their abilities, the small council is beginning to worry. Who – or what – would be powerful enough to cause them to lose their magic? The kingdom of Gilead’s ruler has died after many years of ruling, and now his son has been brought to the throne. Beginning his new reign, he has continued the decree of his ancestors, who outcast any magic users. The new king has sent out bounty hunters in search of any who show a sign of magic in Gilead in order to capture them. As magic users begin to leave their homes in search of safety, they go to the other kingdoms where they believe they will be protected. While the council of Elders searches for brave souls who’ll risk their lives to save magic, the people of the four kingdoms struggle to stay alive while fighting for what’s right.
