Rules
Failure to comply with these rules can lead to warnings, temporary banning, and, upon continual refusal to correct your mistakes, permanent email, account, and IP bans
The Staff
Administrators: The high rulers of this site. They sit upon high thrones that are only about 2 inches off the ground. What they say goes. Period.
Global Moderators: Like admins but they can't ban your arse to kingdom come. They are to respected as admins.
Story Moderators: These are staff, but don't have nearly as much power as the global mods or the admins. They are allowed full NPC control and assist the upper staff in keeping the site running.
General Forum Rules
1.) Behavioural Guidelines
- Be Polite to others
- Please keep cursing to a minimum. Occasionally is fine, but not too much
- No explicit sexual content may be posted on this website.
- Do not flame others for their opinions. If you are flamed, do not flame back. Do not move it to PM or email, just stop it altogether.
- All posts must follow the Zetaboards Terms of Service.
- Do not double post in threads; edit your last post.
2.) You may NOT have multiple accounts.
3.) Remember that this is a role-playing forum. The main focus should be on the Roleplaying sections of the site.
4.) Signature rules are as follows:
- Your signature must contain your character's name, weapon, a link to the profile, and any misc. information and items he/she has.
- It must be neat.
- The rest of your signature can be any misc. things.
- Your signature should not stretch the board. If it does at all, you'll be warned and your signature will be removed.
RP Rules
1.) Ability limits:
- This forum is semi-free form.
- You are expected to set limits to your character's abilities.
- Your character can grow over time, allowing you to eventually become very powerful
2.) General Roleplay Rules
- No godmodding
--Making your character extremely powerful to overcome anything --Avoiding everything or auto-hitting your opponent
- No metagaming/Miss Cleo (using OoC knowledge to get your character ahead).
- The Legend of Zelda universe is a big place, and it takes a while to travel between countries. Please note and/or be aware of this when role playing.
- You can not have a character in more than one thread at any given time.
- Try not to do one-line posts. They are irritating and don't provide a very good roleplaying experience.
- Please try to make a good reason for your character to leave a thread. Spontaneously up and leaving (especially in the middle of interacting with another character) is annoying and frowned upon.
- In the case that a staff member does not control an NPC to further a thread you are in that requires NPCs or has an NPC interacting with characters in the thread within 24 hours of the last post, the topic starter may control NPCs to further the story. If the topic starter does not want to do this or is no longer part of the thread, the next person to join has priority, and so on down the line of people who have joined the thread. Double posting should be avoided; if the replacement NPC-controller posted and needs to control an NPC, he or she should edit his or her post. This rule does not apply to plot-important threads. If you don't know whether a thread is plot-important or not, PM or use the Cbox to contact a staff member (an active one).
3.) Registering your character
- Use the template in the Character Applications forum.
- Do not post until you have finished the template. If you do then you will have 1 week to complete it before it is locked.
- If the template is not used at all, your application will immediately be flagged and locked after 48 hours if you do not respond and fix it.
- We give you multiple chances to go over your character application to get it right. Do not take our criticism personally, we are not trying to be rude.
- NO CANONS
- One week after your character is approved, and if you have posted in character a few times to assure that you're an active member, you can create a second player character. Also, if one of your characters is in a group, the other can not be; instead, their salary is boosted to 25 each Monday to compensate. This does not apply if both characters go into the same group.
4.) Fighting
- A fight against an NPC character (for instance, a Tektite or Stalchild) is basically a back and forth battle where a staff member controls the enemy. For smaller enemies (for instance, a Tektite or Stalchild) that come in droves, the staff may let you just cut them down in swaths but increase the number of total enemies.
- Fighting another player is different. It is a back and forth battle between your two characters. In this situation, the most clever person who utilizes their character's abilities and attributes usually wins (barring that they don't end up in an interference-related stalemate).
- Boss fights are a lot different. They basically involve one extremely powerful enemy vs. you and usually a few other players. Most of the time there are smaller enemies involved to slow you down. Remember, every boss has a weak spot, a definite rhythm, or both.
- You can make small encounters to fight on your own and control, but you can not receive any reward for them, because that would be cheating.
- If you attack another player and they either a.) Ignore your attack, or b.) do not reply within 48 hours, you may conduct an auto-hit. This can not be a killing blow or anything mortally wounding: that would be godmodding. If the latter reason occurs (48 hours with no reply), you should edit your post, not double post.
5.) Special Item Rules
- Masks: Masks are special items given only by staff members (characters can, however, sell or give away masks they have made/found if they do not have any special abilities). They have special abilities (e.g., the Deathwings Mask allows the wearer to manipulate shadows). It can be used for a total of about 5 posts per thread before it starts to affect the user negatively.
NPC Rules
1.) You have full control over your NPC.
- Staff can not use it without permission.
- You can only use it for a certain amount of time and only occasionally. Your main focus should be on your main character.
- You can not create a thread where the NPC is the only entering character.
2.) You can have an unlimited number of good NPCs, and only one or two bads ones.
- After registering an NPC, you may not register another for a week afterwards. The staff will consider multiple registrations if they are all related and needed at the moment of creation. PM a staff member, first.
