Name: Aubrey Rose Sheikah Race: Gerudo Gender: Female Age: 19 Class: Agility- Garo Goddess: Din Starting Location: Kakariko Village (OoT Area) Guild: Silent Crisis Dungeon Items: (From old HS) The Gibdo Mask, Mirror Shield, Hover Boots, Deku Nuts, and the Grappling Hook (and Hero Bow???) Armor and Weapons: Aubrey bears a pair of long scimitars that are ideal for her body type. She has been trained well with them, and can easily wrap them around her body for protection as they are curved perfectly for her. Their handles are gold, each with a small red ribbon wrapped around them. They are simple looking, but are kept in excellent shape. The only detail is a small triforce carved into the base and lined with gold, with the triforce of power being the only part completely colored in. The comfort she feels with her swords is incredible, and she fights with them as if they were merely ribbons dancing in the wind, but her strikes are powerful and quick. The lightness of the weapons allow her to stay quick on her feet and have a fast draw or sheath when needed. Techniques/Spells/Alchemies: (From old HS) The Wall Kick Appearance: Aubrey is a thin girl, weighing close to 115lbs and being a good 5'8" in height. Her long, wavy, and thick golden blonde hair serperates her from the rest of the redheads and brunettes in her race, causing her to stand out from across the room. As the other gerudos, she's quite tan from spending her days under the sun, and her hair has actually lightened slightly from it's natural color because all of the solar exposure. Her eyes are a shade of a deep blue, though they seem to turn gray whenever her emotions get the best of her. Aubrey is garbed in a red, strapless bustier with a thin gold lining. Her pants are worn low on her hips, with a tight, gold strech fabric right at the rim, and a flowing red fabric, poofing slightly, trailing down her leg and bunching up again in the middle of her shin, finished with another strip of gold, strecthy material. She wears a pair of comfortable gold cloth shoes. Aubrey usually wears her hair in a long, tight braid with a red roped ribbon weaved in and out of it. The ribbon stops shortly after her hair ends, and has a small golden pendant at the end of it that bears a symbol that no one has ever gotten close enough to make out. This pendant, other than mark she keeps covered in tarp-like bandages on her upper right arm, is her only reminder of her true past. She keeps her hands tightly wrapped in a thin strip of cloth, much like on her upper arm, and only unravels them when she bathes and when she needs to change them. Her feet are also wrapped within her shoes to help protect them. She bears gold bracelets on both of her arm, and a thin gold chain with a small ruby hanging from it around her neck. Her ears are both peirced twice, bearing red stones in all four holes, and her left ear is peirced a third time with a small gold ring near the top of her cartiledge. Personality: In general, Aubrey is a very fun and flirty girl who will try to make any day a good one. She loves to smile, and makes an effort to cheer up anyone that she sees is upset. She's open and honest, and isn't afraid to use her own experiences to help others. One thing in her past, though, is something she doesn't ever share with anyone. She just feels it's best not to let people know of her one deepest secret because she never knows what kind of a reaction she would get. Very few people across the lands know of it, and she hadn't seen any of them in a long while. Aubrey becomes extremely focused when she fights, concentrating alone on her goal and how to reach it. She puts her whole being into it, and feels as if she is one with her swords as they strike. She is able to be given a task and stick to it until it's done, rarely straying unless she knows for sure that there is no harm in taking a rest. Without a task that needs to be done, though, Aubrey makes sure she has time for fun, games, and relaxation. Whenever possible, she is off singing and dancing, for music is her muse. Aubrey loves meeting new people, but can be bitter when someone disrespects her or a loved one. She's protective and extremely opinionated. She will be the first one to tell you that you're shoes are ugly or your hair looks amazing. She doesn't hold grudges and believes that there is good in everyone, but there's that one secret that she has trouble letting anyone know about. She was told once that it could change someones entire view of her, and she would never want that. Aubrey believes that: "There is no good without evil, no light without darkness, and no reality without imaginary... One just has to decifer the difference." Back Story: In Kakariko Village some 20 years ago, a man named John met a woman named Kat. They fell in love and were wed shortly after. They lived a happy, simple life, with John working long hard hours as a carpenter to come home to the beautiful Kat sitting at the kitchen table with a delicious ready-made supper for them both to share together. They would sit and talk and laugh about their days, John often complaining about a lazy co-worker or a rained-out job and Kat expressing her difficulties with the uncooperative cuccos. One day when John returned, there was no dinner waiting for him, nor a beautiful wife to welcome him home. He had heard sobbing from another room above him, and made his way upstairs and into their bedroom, only to find Kat crying upon their bed. When he asked her what was wrong, she told him that she felt that something was missing and that she couldn't be happy while it wasn't there. Nine months later, a gorgeous baby girl was born in the land of Hyrule, and her name was Aubrey. Aubrey was brought into a world of love and caring, for her parents thought the world of her. She was their firstborn child, and they couldn't have been prouder. As a baby, Aubrey was sung to every night before she fell asleep. Aubrey quickly began reacting to the sultry sounds of music, and though it was never in tune, because she was just a baby, Aubrey learned to sing and dance along with it. She would sound her voice and stomp her tiny feet, waving her hands in the air and putting on quite a show for Mommy and Daddy. They would look upon her and laugh, cherishing every moment in their hearts. When Aubrey was two, her parents decided to have another child. When her baby brother was born, they named him Kody. Even as a young girl, Aubrey was protective of her little brother. She would always want to hold and play with him, and was always offering to be the one who got to feed or bathe him. As the two got older, they grew closer and became somewhat of best friends. They would constantly be playing outside, fighting with sticks and running around chasing each other, and loved "going on adventures", which usually meant leaving the yard when their mother had deliberatly told them not to. Aubrey grew up as a kind of tomboy, despite her outward appearance and love for music. She intimated the other children in the village, and didn't have many other friends other than her little brother. Kody looked up to her, admiring her emotional strength and knowing that she would protect him no matter what; and feeling the same way about her. Their strong bond as siblings made it easy for their parents. The family itself had an extremely strong bond. One day, Aubrey, age 12, and Kody, age 10, were outside chasing their mothers cuccos that had gotten loose. They were having a blast trying to catch them and place them back in the fence, even after they had spent 2 hours doing it and hadn't caught a single one. Right when their first was nearly in their reach, Kody began coughing violently. Aubrey forgot what she was doing and immediately ran to his side, worried and afraid. He had fallen on the ground and, just as Aubrey was trying to lift his head so he could cough better, passed out. Aubrey ran back to the house faster than she had ever ran before and get her parents. Kat gasped as John ran out of the house, Aubrey leading the way, straight to Kody's side. John picked the young boy up in his arms and carried him back to the house, placing him straight in his room and then running to the village's doctor. Kody was alive, but he was sick, and needed as much bed rest as possible. Nothing could be done other than giving him plenty of space, food, and water. No one knew if or when he would get better, but the entire family was devestated. Aubrey, still young, didn't fully understand why Kody couldn't come out and play anymore. She would beg her parents over and over again to let him come outside, but the best they could do was open a window for him and let her stay in his room. Even then, Aubrey would bring in sticks so they could sword fight, and would get scolded at for waking Kody from his sleep. Aubrey eventually gave up trying to play, and had finally started to grow up. Her parents sat down with her a few weeks after the accident and explained to her how sick Kody was. Aubrey cried that day, but not for long. She stood up as soon as they were done explaining and went into her little brother's room. She sat on a stool next to his bed and kissed his forehead. Aubrey remembered the songs her mother used to sing to her and began to hum one, watching him sleep and seeing his chest rise up and down with breath. Her voice traveled through the house, echoing throughout the short hallways and small rooms and trailing beautifully into the cold night's air; and she could hear her mom begin to cry. On her thirteenth birthday, Aubrey awoke to a sharp pain on her right arm. It was slight and only momentary, but it still worried her. Grabbing her arm where it had pained, she got out of bed and headed downstairs. What she found was her entire family, even her little brother Kody, sitting at the kitchen table, all smiling at her. The table was a plethera of breakfast foods; all of Aubrey's favorites. She forgot about the pain on her arm, and ran to Kody, giving him a soft hug, knowing that he was still sick and realizing how much pain he must be in to be out of bed. The boy winced a little, but smiled. "Happy birthday, big sis..." She smiled again and skipped to her parents, hugging them as well. She joined the three at the kitchen table, commencing the large morning meal. After Kody had been put back to bed, and Aubrey was helping clean up breakfast, she remembered about the pain on her arm. Her mother was on the other side of the small room, so she decided to inform her of it. Kat stopped what she was doing and looked over to Aubrey almost instantly. "Which arm?" she asked, her voice a little higher than usual. Aubrey nonchalantly stuck out her right arm and pointed to the upper part of it, just below the shoulder. Kat looked at it, struck with worry, and then closed her eyes, sighing. She told Aubrey to wait where she was and disappeared from the room. She returned moments later with Aubrey's father and a small wrapped box. It looked old and tattered, as if it was supposed to hold something valuable but no one was really taking the time and energy to take care of it. Kat handed it to her, hesitantly, and buried herself in John's arms. "It was your great-grandmother's," John explained as Aubrey pulled out a long, red, roped ribbon, "and, under these circumstances, she would have wanted you to have it." "Circumstances?" Aubrey asked, curiously. She ran her fingers across the ribbon. It had small pendant dangling from the end that bore a symbol she had seen many times before in the darker and less traveled parts of the village: ![]() "That symbol, honey, is the seal of the Sheikah," her mother explained, looking up from John's shoulder and wiping the tears from her face. "We have a seal?" Aubrey inquisited. "Not the last name, the race. You see, long ago, the dominant race of this village was the Sheikah, protecters of Hyrule and defenders of the royal family. Your great grandmother was one of that race." As Aubrey looked up at her, another tear streamed down her face, and John continued. "You see... there was a war back then, and a nasty one. Everyone was fighting, and many of them were dying. The Sheikah, of course, was the only race that every member stood up to protect the Royal Family. In result, they all were eventually killed, including your great grandmother." "Before the war, though," Kat explained, "your great grandmother had been traveling in Hyrule Field and met a young Hylian. They quickly fell in love and the result was your grandmother." "Grandma?" Aubrey asked, trying to put all the pieces together with difficulty. "Yes, Aubrey. My mom," Kat stated. John continued. "You see, after the war was finished and your grandmother's mom had passed away, her dad raised her as a simple Hylian in this village, telling her stories of your great grandmother but hoping that the blood of the Sheikah would not affect her. He knew that it would be dangerous to have a decendant of an extinct race for a daughter and made her promise never to tell anyone. On her thirteenth birthday, after no signs had shown, her father told her something that she needed to pass down to HER children and gave her that same ribbon that you're holding." Aubrey listened even more intently than before. "She grew older and fell in love with a young Hylian soldier that was passing through the village. After concieving me, my father left my mother, and we never saw him again. My mother raised me alone, also telling me of your great grandmother's stories, and when I was thirteen and no signs of the Sheikah had shown, Grandma handed down this ribbon to me and told me that I was to pass it down to my children, and that if any of them had a mark on their right arm appear on their thirteenth birthday, that that child had been chosen to carry the blood of the Sheikah. That mark, sweetheart, the one on the pendant, has appeared on your arm." Kat started sobbing, and buried herself back into John's chest. "Why is she crying?" Aubrey asked, not understanding. "The thing is, sweetheart... it's not safe, in our eyes, for you to stay here. We don't know what's going to happen because of that mark. You could do things you didn't know you could do, and at the same time, you could be completely the same with no change. We just don't want to risk anyone finding out. A few years ago, I met a woman while I was rebuliding a bridge in Castle Town. I'll never know why she was there, or why we started talking, but I told her of these concerns. She told me that she was a Gerudo, as I had guessed by her appearance, and offered to take you into their valley if anything ever happened. Your mother and I have been in contact with her recently because we were worried this may happen. She's planning on traveling here next week to pick up something for her family, and may be bringing you back with her." His last words were spoken slowly and solemnly, Kat's sobs head in the backround. Aubrey realized what was happening, and tried to argue that there was some other way. But her parents were strict on this point, and continuously stated that anything could happen and it was not worth the risk. Aubrey was angry. She couldn't help it. She scorned the mark on her arm and the symbol on the pendant. She threw the ribbon down before her parents feet, and ran to her room, slamming the door and throwing herself upon her bed. She only hoped that she hadn't awoken Kody... A week later, Aubrey had calmed down. She had had another conversation with her parents, and was rational this time. She didn't want to leave, but knew that they only wanted the best for her. Kat had braided her long golden hair, weaving the passed-down ribbon in and out of the braid, and wrapped the mark on her arm with a tarp-like bandage. That was the moment that Aubrey knew she was leaving... and all she could do was embrace her mother and cry. When a knock was heard at the front door, John went to answer it, finding a strangely mysterious woman standing just outside of it. She was quite beatiful, with long, wavy red hair and bright green eyes. She was wearing much jewelry and had a frightful sense about her that Aubrey couldn't, at that point, quite understand. Aubrey ran up to her brothers room to say goodbye... After talking to Kat and John for a few moments, and after Aubrey has returned, the woman held out her hand, expecting Aubrey to take it. The thirteen-year-old looked at the Gerudo as if she were crazy, and rejected the offer, running to her parents and hugging them. They embraced for a long time, John quiet, Aubrey trying not to cry, and Kat sobbing loudly. "I love you," John said to his daughter. "As do I," Kat sobbed. Aubrey took a deep breath. "I love you both, too..." Kat cried out again, and Aubrey took her into her arms, humming to her a familiar song from her childhood to calm her. And moments later, her journey had begun. Aubrey spent six years in the Gerudo Valley, living and learning as one of them. She quickly became immune to the heat, tanning up nicely, and became more comfortable within the camp as time went by. Whether it was the Sheikah inside of her, or the rage she felt from leaving all she ever knew, she didn't know, but her training as a Gerudo went extremely well. She was one of the youngest and strongest of them tribe, pushing herself harder than any of the others to rise above and become one of them, fitting and blending in as well as possible. The strange woman from that day became somewhat of a mother to Aubrey, although no one could replace her birth mom. Her name was Naabi, and she made sure that Aubrey was accepted amoung the tribe and given the respect she deserved. Aubrey became one of the Gerudo, and being proud of her accomplishments, became very comfortable with her race. She made new friends, and although she was different than any of the others, the women admired her kind and caring attitude and loved her determined and strong battle sense. She was unique, but learned to blend in. It was on her nineteenth birthday that Aubrey decided it was time to leave. She felt she had lost part of who she was during her extensive training and wanted to be able to go to the outside world searching for herself. That night, she left a note by the sleeping Naabi, and snuck out of the Valley with her quiet, Gerudo atributes. They had trained her as somewhat of a Garo, and she had learned well. Her first outside encounter was with a Zora name Saskora, and a second with another Zora by the name of Shenjun. She quickly made friends with both of them, going on many different adventures and getting into loads of trouble. At one point, the threesome had taken a moment to rest in the middle of Hyrule Field. Aubrey had gotten into an arguement with Saskora's little female companion and, after everyone had calmed down, Saskora had stated that they should start a band and call it "Witch's Brew", for the two girls that would be in it were the biggest witches he knew. While Saskora and Shenjun commenced laughing, Aubrey and the little Korkiri were not thrilled. They began to vocalize, though, and as Aubrey began to move with the music, Saskora brought out his bass bass, and played along with them, sounding into the night until they all fell asleep. Furthur along in their travels, Aubrey began to take a liking to Shenjun. They, despite Saskora's random absenses and re-appearances, tended to stick together through their travels. He would listen to her, and actually seem to care about her. He was the only one Aubrey ever told her secret to... and only because she had fallen in love. When in Dragon's Roost, months later, Shenjun had fallen to an ill fate, and while Aubrey wanted him to have a proper burial, Saskora decided it would be more appropriate to send the Zora back to the sea he belonged to. He was thrown into the crashing waves and, out of chance, swallowed by a whale. Aubrey was devistated. After the finished temple run, Aubrey decided it was time to take a break to grieve and, finally, revisit the family she had missed so much. She returned, alone, to Kakariko Village. And her return was more than warmly welcomed. Her parents embraced her for the longest moment ever, and only broke when Aubrey spotted her younger brother, now 17 and almost a grown man, running walking out of the house. He had returned to health, and was estatic to see Aubrey again. Her appearance had changed, but her family still believed her to be beautiful. She has now spent 6 months with her family, and is starting to realize that her grief of Shenjun is fading, and that she still has a lot of self-realization to do. After explaining to her parents and little brother what she needed to do, they happily sent her off again, throwing her somewhat of a "Goodbye for Now" party. Aubrey promised to return shortly, telling them all that she lived them dearly, and left with a smile on her face. She knew she would be back eventaully... And she couldn't wait for that day. To top it off, they're also both Gerudo. ...Which makes sense, because they're kinda geared towards Warriors or Garos, but still, it's a coincidence. Oh, and you get to start with Training Equipment and Way of Garo. Just so you know :p |
