So I was out to the deer stand yesterday afternoon and I was settled in by 12:30 for the day.The neighbour to the south started to sight in his muzzle loader for this weeks season firing about twenty shots off finishing around 2.All is good and the deer are active with four on the field in front of me.At 5:00 I hear the unmistakable boom from a muzzleloader on the neighbours apple orchard followed ten minutes later by another one! I seriously doubt he was target shooting at that time and in a much different location from where he was practising. I guess someone got an early start on next weeks gun season.

Don't doubt it!! When I was sitting in my stand the Saturday prior to shotgun season there were far too many single blasts, at daylight. Probably guys on their own property who feel they can break the law and get away with it.

In this area they hunted everyday for a month for three years.I hardly ever see big bucks now.Oh yah, this area is like the 401 during the gun season.Lots of road hunters and the property is all private.Brent

You would think the mnr could do their job once in a while. It seems to be a free for all.

I haven't seen one for years except at places like Hullett where its easy for them to find guys.I know there's all kinds of funny business that goes on including a couple guys who have no issue's with using their .270's to whack a few deer.We are at least 1 1/2 hours drive from an area you can rifle hunt deer in!
