We got around 4 inchs of snow Thirs night ,so I finally got out hunting once again in almost 2 weeks ,I was surprised that there was not 1 deer track in the field ,but the place is crawling with sign of coyotes . i walked in put up my trail cam and then walked back to my stand ,shortly I noticed movement walking the fencerow my way and it was a coyote ,as I prepared to take this pest out ,he hit my track coming from the camera and took off back the other way. Last night was a bust ,so I was expecting to see sign of deer movement this morning when I went out ,but once again not 1 track to be found and again coyote sign everywhere.I was thinking of heading to another farm to hunt ,but after checking the fields around ,I noticed no movement on these locations either ,so most likely its the same everywhere ,I know as soon as i change locations all hell will break lose ,so I will go back again this evening ,sooner or later these deer gotta start moving again and I don't want to miss it. I'm sure everyone is noticing the activity awful quiet as well ,so I know I am not the only 1 seeing this . I only went 1 day before the gun hunt that I seen nothing ,so I can ut up with 2 days ,just hope thing kick in again real soon ,like tonight . |

I checked my trail cam today where I had tons of deer activity the last two weeks. not one deer picture. Not sure where they all are right now, but I think I'm going to try a few different spots tomorrow, one has lots of winter wheat around there, that should hold some deer. |

well just got in and decided to hang in there on that spot ,it was pretty quiet till the rain and thunder rolled around , I was pretty sure I was about to get wet whether I wanted to or not ,but I hung in there ,as it poured and got dark fast I began getting my gear together when I noticed some movement at the bottom of the field which is around 80 or so yards away ,I put my bino's on it and there was a doe and 2 fawns entering the field ,I watched where they were going when I caught movement once again from the same corner ,low and behold if a doe with a decent looking buck in tow entered the same field ,so I sat back down not wanting to spook these deer before I left ,since i now plan on being back in there in the morning ,before I knew it the first doe and her fawns were right beside me and the wind was blowing right at her ,I knew this wasn't good ,but what was I to do .I guess you don't need to be told what happened ,,,blowing away time after time and taking the rest of the deer with her ,,,just hope I haven't ruined this spot for tomorrow. Well I guess I still haven't gone 2 days without seeing deer ,hope that trend continues for the rest of the season. |
