Well we just got back from our week of Blackpowder on Sunday where we were pretty successful,10 guys,10 deer.Iwas fortunate enough to take 2 nice bucks and a button buckbut was defenitely looking forward to getting my bow back in my hands.Ihave been watching trail cams and scouting fields all year long for this time of year and it was time for the hard work to pay off hopefully.Well on Tuesday morning I had to drop the kids off at school for 9 am and then it was off to move a stand that I figured would be no good now that the corn had been picked since I was away so I moved it to a location that should be good later in the season.I seem to be constantly moving set ups trying to stay one step ahead of the deer.Well this is where it gets interesting,asI am going around the block to get to my peice of property I hunt to check the trail cams,I spot this buck running across an open field a 1/2 mile away from my bushheading into another small bush.My buddy Beardmoreeddie is down for 3 weeks of bowhunting and he sees the same deer so we make a plan.I have watched the deer when they are pushed out of this bush and 9 out of 10 times they run the same pattern and run accross 4 open fields right into the corner of my property I hunt.Thats why I have a stand there now.Anyway Ed decides to go in and push this buck out and sure enough out he comes with 2 does in toe behind him.As Iwatched them coming across I thought to myself this looks like its going to happen today.Sure as they had done many times last year at the end of the season they came right to where Iwas waiting.Idecided to stay on the ground in case I had to move but they were bearing down right at me.The first doe entered the bush and passed the tree I was behindat 2 feet,I actually felt the wind as she blew by me.The buck was behind her and he passed at a mere 3 yards but so quick I wasnt able to release the shot then.Iswung ang and as he was running straight away I gave him a little ''bbrrrp'' and he stopped at 25 yards giving me a slighltly more than quartering away shot.Isettled the pin and let the 125 thunderhead fly watching it hit its mark. The buck only went 80 yards before falling over.HERE ARE A FEW PICTURES.Posted ImagePosted Image

Congrats - that is a beautiful buck. It brings to mind that old George Peppard saying "I love it when a plan comes together."
