just google it maximus the guy @ on target hunting store in belle river has them complete around $675 bow, scope rings, quiver, bolts and cocking string. that's quite a bit less than excalibur which i believe start @ $850 for the same kind of package. but are they as good plus who fixes them? |

The Maximus are made in China and are a knockoff of the Excalibur. They are imported by Randy Ford who owns Walker Downriggers of Stayner, Ontario. During our last conversation he said that his hope was to have enough of the bow built at his factory to satisfy 'Built In Canada standards'. I have not heard anything further on the matter, when I do I will report. BTW the new line up of Excaliburs starts at $489.99 US/Can http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/catalog/crossbow/axiom_crossbow_kit |

i love your quote at the bottom though you could add a smoker. yes i would rather buy canadian. i'm not able to bring up the web page you added here at work but i will tommorrow. the 489 you mention must be the bow only not the scope, bolts quiver and cocking string. because if it is i'll get 1 tommorrow. |

![]() The Axiom SMF is sold only as a kit including a matching multiplex crossbow scope with mounting hardware, our rope cocking aid, our 4 arrow quiver plus 4 Firebolt arrows complete with field points. The Axiom SMF kit is designed as a budget priced option to help new and seasoned crossbow hunters enjoy Excalibur quality at a low cost, but make no mistake, this is one serious hunting combination! Quality of manufacture, reliability, and accuracy of this economical kit is comparable with our most expensive options. |

Wallaceburg http://www.gandkarchery.com/ London Archer's Nook --- $490.00 http://www.archersnook.com/catalogue.php?Category=102 The G&K website is not up to date, but you could call to confirm price. These are a couple of options depending on where you live. There is Santarosa Shooting Sports in Rodney as well. The price will be pretty much the same at all locations. |

been checking out the axiom on the web i like the sounds of it . says the scope is set up to shoot 20-50 yds. all the reviews say great 25-30 yds. just wondering how accurate they be at 35-4 yds. not that i like shooting game out that far, but soom of the 3d shoots have targets that far out. |

The way I look at it, accuracy is a relative quality of the shooter. By that I mean the person behind the equipment. It all comes down to your hand-eye coordination and practice, practice and more practice. The bow will only be as accurate as you can make it. Brand of bow will not matter. |

I can't speak for the Maximus, but it is definately an Excalibur knockoff. Accuracy is guaranteed with all Excaliburs. From a rest or even offhand, robinhoods are common. Made in Canada. No questions. The one thing that seperates Excalibur from many other businesses, let alone crossbow manufacturers is their service. Time and again Excalibur has stood by their product, even when damaged bows are a result of user error. |
