WOW, looks like fun. Wish'n I was there. I see the wolves really had their tails tucked between their legs. Must of been the bear scent. |

we use cheap bags of dog food..........2 per barrel..........molasses from farm supply store, 150 lb of meat scraps, and a lot of apples just put them on ground around barrel........I take a tin of sardines put a hole in it and tie a string on it and throw it up a tree and use it for a call bait...............we use 2 pails of chicken fried grease at each bait .we pour some on the ground so the bears walk in it and then spread scent in the woods.......and coat 3 or 4 trees with the grease .........we have never been skunked.......every bait gets hit...........I used to do 2 baits ..but only do one now 10 days before openning day Before climbing up up tree to hunt I do a honey burn...........one year a bear was running to the burn before I got up the tree............I quickly pulled up my bow and shot it.......I usually video all my kills,,,,,,,,,I have camera bracket on my tree stand,,,,,,lots of fun,,,,we all get along....do some fishing,,,,lots of small-mouth bass.....one guy even got lost in woods few years ago............that made for nerve racking evening...he just parked himself by a tree and listened to bears rolling the barrel around for 2 hours until we rescued him |

I hunt the same area. No shortage of bears around. I always have tons of sows with cubs hitting my bait. Still waiting on that giant to find it. I use dog food/corn/oats and popcorn. |

Those are great pictures and the idea of putting the chicken grease around the ground so the bears walk around in it at the bait barrels so that they track it around through the bush I'm sure helps. Keep the picture's coming
