HAVE NEVER HAD THE CHANCE OR THE TIME TO GET OUT AND DO SOME SERIOUS SHED HUNTING. IS THERE ANY ADVISE FOR A NEWBIE THAT ANY ONE COULD OFFER? IS JUST A MATTER OF GETTING OUT INTO AN AREA WITH GOOD DEER ACTIVITY AND GOING FOR A WALK WITH BIG EYES? ARE THERE ANY AREAS THAT I SHOULD PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO? THANKS AND GOOD HUNTING.
Better a clean miss than bad hit is OK with me.

look for rubs, and bedding areas follow the trails from bedding to the fields and walk real slow.
If it's got fur, feathers or scales it's in trouble

Find the biggest deer yard you can walk and put on the miles. South facing slopes and just the south side of the bush are great places to look. Winter food sources such as cedar and corn stubble are a big draw to wintering bucks that need the nutrition to make it through the tough times of winter. Glass fields with bino's, this tactic has added several finds to my collection. Hunting is best on cloudy days it seems to make the sheds stand out and they look a lot bigger. Hope this helps, Good Luck !! shedhunter

good info, one day will hopefully be able to go out and try these tips. I have a problem walking slow though.
Live every day like it's your last
