Went out on Friday evening and Saturday with my wife. She really isn't (or rather isn't at all) a bush crawler like me but she was a good sport and did really well. We only covered a small bit of land, but it was thick and deep gullies, creek beds and river beds, and we found 2 each day, bringing my total to 5 for this year. But still the big ones have not come out. Hope they will soon.

4 pt in the snow. Yes, that is my footprint. I almost stepped on it! The worst part is that I was only 30 yrds from it last year when it was fresh! Oh well...

Spike the size of a banana. For a spike he looked like he had good potential. We don't seem to have many spikes in ON

This was the set on Sat. It was a hard one to spot, so I was really pleased with it, and this was only my first set out of how many I have found!

My wife is standing where I was when I spotted it, and I took this picture after I picked it up. It was a little hill overlooking a stretch of flooded riverbottom swamp and timber, and I was about to head back the other way when I saw a white stick that had a curve like an antler... Hmm.. Had to check it out. I did not take a picture of when I first spotted it because I did not even think it was one!

Well, I had to go in a rather round about path to avoid the deep water in the swamp, so my wife pointed me back to where it was because I could not even see it anymore, and as I came through the water I saw sure enough it was one

Went over to it, it was a nice 4 with good colour - white points and beams, but dark brown base and real knobby too. I was standing there holding it and looking around for another one when I look down beside me, and in the water, just sticking out, is its match!

Pretty neat to find one underwater!

My total so far. Hope to get into some big ones soon!
