Saturday was a nasty snowy day but we still had a good chase until the yote went into a non hunting property, then we had a couple of dry runs and called it a day. Today started out great but of coarse just as we start to look for tracks it starts snowing heavy. We ended up spotting a fox head into one of my uncle bushes so I rounded up the troops and the chase was on, he led us on a good chase but in the end he did not run fast enough and he got to take a ride in the back of Benny's truck. So we regrouped and started in on another block, it didn't take long and we had a yote on the run and the dog was on him big time, it really wasn't that long of a chase and he ended up coming right to me and I made the shot count. We tried another push but nothing moved so we called it a day and went and warmed up with some chilly. ![]()

Couldn't ask for a better morning for picking up tracks other than not a whole lot moved last night, we figure to much snow had them still hunkered down. We did find a nice pair running together and they both hit the ground, we were surprised as they were both nice males, must have been a female around somewhere. We spent the rest of the morning trying to find more tracks but other than a few fox tracks we came up with nothing. Not the nicest pic but they already had them laying by the shed when I got back.

Well both groups had a tough day on Saturday with not even a coyote sighting, the group I was with did get a fox on the run but it was late in the day and we gave up on him. Today was another beauty day and we had a track to follow right away. The concession had three bush's in a row, all that came out of the first was three turkeys, they went into the middle bush and so did the tracks so into the second bush we go not long after we get a report of a coyote heading south so the chase was on, as I got through the second bush I came across a few turkey feathers. I head to the south and come across this![]() ![]() He had just been killed, I ask the guys if they had seen any turkeys come out of that bush and the report was only two came out so the coyote had just killed this jake (he had zero rigor mortis) as we went from one bush to the other, he didn't have time to even eat any. The coyote ended up swinging behind us and one of the other guys took up his track. He tried to leave the concession but we had a blocker in position and he let some lead fly, he missed but turned him back and he headed for the middle bush again, I was waiting for him ;D ;D ;D Walking up on him ![]() His tracks just ended!!! ![]() Nice big male ![]() When I went through the last bush in the block I jumped the other two turkeys, two big Toms, hope they are feeling a little safer tonight. Here are some of our furs done up we still have some fox and yotes on the drying boards.
