The five remaining stood in a suddenly thick silence. A moment ago, the team’s leading Hunter left with several others; the gravity of the situation hadn’t sunk in yet. Or had it? Edward, the group’s most vulnerable member was among them. Their mission: go where a trap lay waiting for them Those in the barn stood there watching them all exit through the nen portal. Was Doc strong enough to protect them all? Roy could attest to the 90's potential strength, and had they taken Motto as well? The barn's quiet group had their own mission to focus on: Finding Motto. The only information they had to go on was Yumi’s word. According to the mayjuu, she saw Motto a little over a week ago in a hospital in “Vegapunk City”, a small hipster frontier township just outside the Newhart mountains. Roy had been given a leadership role, while it was made clear that Nerissa’s instincts would guide them. Spike’s contribution was still relatively unknown to all except Roy. Most of them were total strangers with one common goal. Or was it more than just Motto? Perhaps these five brave individuals were a part of something much greater. Sharky nudged the barn door open and shuffled in. If unhindered, the unique horse would sniff around the general area and nibble at some rope it found on the floor. reference map Notes from Narrator Edited by Gon.Pro.Hunter, Jul 4 2018, 09:09 AM.

The group had split up and now five members were all that remained inside of the barn. While Alphonse wasn't comfortable around a part of the team yet he had to admit the line-up was almost the best he could have hoped for. While Doc Stike was absent he did have Haru, a friend he had known for a while, and Roy the nice blacksmith. They would probably be leaving soon, he wasn't sure how soon though. Now that the others had left he almost felt obligated the fill up the initial silence, but in the end he didn't speak up. Instead of initiating conversation he walked over to a corner of the barn, making sure to not stand close to anyone. Alphonse unsheathed his blade, holding it in front of him. He swung the blade around a few times as if he was trying to cut the air itself, slowly getting used to its weight, its length and the way it felt. By the time he felt like he had gotten used to it he made it turn invisible, repeating his previous movements. He had no way of knowing if he would need to use it in the near future, but it was always a good idea to be prepared. The chances of Motto being in the same place he had been a week ago seemed a little unlikely to Alphonse, but he might have had something to do around those parts. Alphonse's thoughts were cut short as he heard the barn doors open. The figure that walked in was a familiar one, it seemed like the shark horse had found it's way back. A smile appeared on his face as he looked at it, but it wasn't long before he turned back to focus on his sword fighting. Roy had been appointed leader of their group, so Alphonse decided to just wait for a signal from him. |

Spike chose to maintain his silence around the rest of Motto's crew while they collectively waited for their part in the mission to commence. As per traditional, he used this lull in the impending chaos that any dangerous mission brought to check his weapons. An odd thought crossed his mind after removing the magazine and round in the chamber from his pistol, then checking if he'd lubed the slide surfaces enough; in that moment he almost missed his old clothes and gear. The hunter's knew his new threads and weapons were superior to what he had used in the past, but for meeting Motto after such a long absence from each other's lives, showing up exactly as he'd last been seen was a strangely inviting concept. He'd just reloaded and got his sidearm back to ready standard for once the action eventually started, when a strange beast strolled into the barn and nearly caught a bullet out of reflex. The lack of immediate shock or awe from the others kept Spike from lining up his sights on it, or doing anything else that could be taken as a threat, but he had to shake his head at the chimera like creature. A shark with legs officially took the title of "weirdest animal" he'd ever personally met, a lofty position formerly held by the horned howler sloth. Like Motto's motley crew, this odd animal seemed like it'd be out-of-place just about anywhere, but looked quite fitting as the assumed mascot of this group. After holstering his pistol again, Spike sidled up next to Roy and leaned in a bit toward his left ear. Even as he went to do it whispering felt like overkill, since everyone there knew why they were there and had no pertinent secrets among them, as far as he knew anyway. Still, playing up being the mysterious outsider was a bit of harmless fun he rarely got to enjoy. "Hey, we about ready? How long does it take what's his name to do his thing?" the hunter muttered into Roy's ear, then withdrew to standing shoulder to shoulder with his friend and awaited an answer. |

The second team's leave signaled the start of the mission. Most likely the most dangerous mission he has ever been a part of. While going up against the 90 scared him he also felt rather excited. This was going to be the most important mission he was ever going to participate in. After all Motto's life depended on it, there was no room for any mistakes and knew that. he was going to have to be the best version of himself no... even better, if he wanted to succeed in his mission. He took a deep breath forgetting about the importance and difficulty of the mission for a bit and looked at the rest of the group. Silence ruled inside the barn, everyone seemed to be thinking probably about the upcoming mission. He quietly sat down near his backpack trying not to break the silence that was dormant in the room. He opened up his backpack and took out dragon tooth. He still didn't know how to activate it or even what it did. Roy hadn't had the opportunity to explain to Haru how it worked yet. He had already prepared everything he needed for the mission so there was nothing to do other than wait for the start of the mission. Edited by Supermcgamer, Jul 4 2018, 05:06 AM.

The Mayjuu stared at the nen portal for a little while, shaking excited her tail at the thought of all the possible fights and danger she could have been find if she had followed the other team. But Doc made clear he needed her skills somewhere else and her will of finding Motto was greater than her lust for fighting, so she finally diverted her gaze and eyed on who was left with her. Nerissa didn't know or didn't remember the names of all the other members, the only thing she knew was that they were standing idle just waiting for something to happen. And that only increased her restlessness. "Alright friends, ready or not we have already lost enough time. We all have one thing in common, Motto, and none of us wants to lose him. So awaken your forgottent istincts and let's go hunting before the trail gets even more colder!" With an energic slash of tail she pointed at the barn's exit, right when sharky made himself present and began wandering around. "If we arrive on time i'll be able to follow Motto's scent, but we have to hurry. The trail starts on another piece of land and sea divides us from it. Choice is easy, a boat is too slow and we need to fly on that flying metal machine you humans are so proud of. The are-plain or whatever you call it. Do you agree on that?" The savage did not hide how she felt uncomfortable at the idea of flying again, her fur was already getting all frizzy. But she was ready to face the ordeal of forcing herself inside a metal box, she could always puke after the landing. "Unless you know how to make another magical nen-gate, that could be handy. Any ideas you have, expose them to us. We are a pride now, we are going to help each other so to achieve our common goal. Let trust seals our bonds and we'll hunt as one!" Feeling particularly inspired Nerissa made an optimist grin, that softened her feral muzzle, and rushed at the exit with swift steps and her left arm firmly raised above her hairy ears. |

Alphonse began to familiarize himself with his altered blade and Haru dug the Dragon Tooth out from his pack. The newcomer Spike moved closer to Roy and asked in a low voice, "Hey, we about ready? How long does it take what's his name to do his thing?" Before he could answer, Roy’s phone chimed with a text message alert. He was staring down at his phone with a unique expression when Nerissa urged them to action. An hour later, the group sat in their chosen seats aboard a private air vessel; all of them except Roy. He had left the barn without a word and parted ways much to their astonishment; but it seemed even to Nerissa who had only just met the man that his intentions were honorable. Still, this was an unsettling development at the mission’s onset and the four remaining travelers arrived at Vegapunk city without any noteworthy problems (aside from the fact that they hadn’t heard from Doc Stike or any of the others yet). It was late evening when Haru, Nerissa, Spike, and Alphonse stood on the sidewalk outside the city hospital. The sky was clear, but it’s colors were beginning to shift with the setting sun. At that time, the streets were relatively empty as most had gone home for their dinners and Nerissa would find it quite easy to detect Motto’s scent where he and Yumi had once stood on the same sidewalk. her nose being quite sensitive, the mayjuu would notice significant notes of Motto’s blood mingled in the traces as well. This would lead them directly to a little bakery in the township’s center; where a white-haired woman had just finished locking up and stood smoking. |
