Haru, Motto and Alphonse were in a dark room with a spotlight shining down in front of them. "Where are we?" Whispered Haru to Al who was standing next to him. Before he could get an answer a hooded man appeared before the trio and stood underneath the light. "Hello mighty heroes." Motto took initiative and asked. Who are you? Where is this place? Neither of his questions were answered but instead the shady man continued talking. "If you want to return to your reality you will have to exterminate the evil rampaging around these lands and kill the demon king, Taker!" Haru let out a slight laugh at the sound of his name. After all, Taker was not the evilest of names. Now begone! the hooded man shouted as everything turned black.

The wind slightly blew as a few leaves flew by. The three men were laying unconscious on the grass. Haru slowly opened his eyes, his face was planted in the grass. He slowly got up, his head was in a lot of pain as if he was having a very bad hangover. He looked around him as the realization slowly dawned on him; He had no idea were they ware. There were plains as far as the eye could see. "Guys! Hey guys! Wake up, we have a problem!"He said in a slightly raised voice filled with worry. He took another look around while waiting for his friends to get up and saw something shining not very far off in the distance. Once they went closer they saw 5 weapons laying on the ground. A wooden staff, a longbow, twin daggers, a sword accompanied by a shield and an axe big enough that it needed two hands to be wielded. Above the weapons were floating words that said:

Choose your class

Motto's stats for this thread

“Hello mighty heroes.”

Caught off guard by the deep voice, Motto flailed momentarily before taking a defensive stance. Since when did he get here? Wherever “here” was.. Sniffing the air, he became even more uneasy as there was a total lack of scent, including his own.

“Who are you? Where is this place?”

The strange hooded man’s answer confused Motto, and he shifted his weight a little in case an attack might follow. Something about a demon king. That sounded bad. Al and Haru might get hurt and he wasn’t sure if he could protect th-

Motto opened his eyes and heard gentle rustling. Grass. Wind. Rolling his head to the side he saw for miles..a beautiful stretch of land and blue sky. Something felt off though. An odd pain in his head made Motto shut his eyes again. Bringing a hand to his face, the Hunter slowly rose and got to his feet. Haru had said spoken a minute ago.. something about a problem.

“Are you sure?” Motto took in his surroundings with keen senses; detecting almost nothing. He swallowed and understood. This place wasn’t natural. There seemed to be a strange absence just beyond his reach, a lack of sound and ..life. He touched his head again. Was this a side effect of what happened back there in the jungle? No. Haru felt it too. Following his student’s lead, Motto walked alongside the two until they came upon abandoned weapons. “Choose your…class?” The Hunter cocked his head to the side. “Like a game?” Frowning, Motto thought about it and wondered. This place kinda reminded him of Greed Island. If that was the case, he’d go with his fists! But… things had changed and maybe he shouldn’t. Al and Haru didn’t know, but he got his ass kicked recently and still hadn’t bounced back yet. His strength was less than half of what it was supposed to be. Maybe a weapon was the way to go. Or several. Motto stooped to grab the longbow and gasped as his hand went through the sword. “What the…” He blinked down at the sword and noticed the words above it had changed.

i said choose one you twat

“What’s a twat?” Motto was stuck with long bow it seemed.

The space around Alphonse was dark except for a single spotlight shining down in front of him, illuminating an empty part of the ground. As he looked around he was only able to make out 2 other people, Haru and Motto. In his confusion he didn't think to talk to them, merely look around and noticing that his surroundings were almost unnaturally quiet. That silence was short-lived however as Haru broke the silence. "Where are we?". The normally simple question had a equally simple answer, he didn't know.

Before he had a chance to answer a hooded figure appeared and stood underneath the spotlight. "Hello mighty heroes." the sudden appearance of the man made Alphonse hand reach for his sword, but all he found as an empty space at his side where it was supposed to be. Motto tried to get some information from the man, but he ignored his questions and told us we would need to kill a demon king in order to leave. The entire situation confused Alphonse, he had no idea how they got here, where his sword was or why they would need to kill a so called demon king. "Now begone!" With those last words everything turned black.

"Guys! Hey guys! Wake up, we have a problem!"
Suddenly Alphonse awoke to the sound of Haru's voice. As he opened his eyes he saw the inside of his hat, which was placed partually on top of his face. He put his hat on normally as he slowly stood up, a unexpected headache keeping him from getting up to quickly. The encounter with the hooded man felt like it could have been a dream, but he started to doubt that now that he once again found himself in a unknown place. Motto's voice came from somewhere to his side, but he didn't turn towards him. “Are you sure?” Without saying a word he followed Haru and Motto to some weapons lying in the grass, words floating above it instructed them to choose a "class". By the time he had inspected every weapon from a distance Motto had already picked up the longbow and tried to pick up the sword, but he simply went through it. The words them changed to proclaim they could only pick one.

Alphonse stood in front of the weapons for a while, looking over them one by one till he narrowed his choice down to two, the sword and shield or the wooden staff. The sword had been his trusted weapon of choice for a long time, but for some reason he felt drawn to the staff. In the end he made up his mind and picked up the sword and shield, putting the shield on his left arm and wielding the sword in his right. For the first time since he found himself standing inside the dark room he spoke."I have quite a few questions, but it seems like we won't be able to get the answers now at least. This entire situation might give me another headache."

The other two men had chosen their weapons it was just Haru remaining. He thought hard about his choices. All evidence pointed to this being some kind of role playing game. He had played a few of those when he was younger so he knew how things played out in them. 'We have a lot of physical damage already, so the daggers are out. I could be either the off-tank with an axe or take the staff and have some magical damage. If we were to meet an enemy with high physical resistance we could be doomed without magic damage.' Haru thought. He finally decided to use the staff. He bend down and picked it up.

A blinding flash shone upon them and Haru covered his eyes with his arms, it felt warm yet weird. After it ended Haru opened his eyes and saw two bars. One green named Hp and one blue named Mp. He looked around him, they were still in the plains but something felt different. He turned his head to look at the other two and looked at them. Indeed his feeling was correct their appearances had changed and not only theirs but his too had changed!

They looked much more like adventurers now. Now Haru was sure this was an set in an mmorpg. But, how did they get here? So... we are stuck in a game it seems. he took a deep pause. We are probably stuck in someone's nen, but this is too massive to have been created by one conjurer. My guess is that either a whole team has worked on this or we are in an illusion. He looked back to the place were they chose their class and realized the sign has changed. It now read:

You can use voice commands to open the menus. Just say the name of the menu to open it.

That's a very detailed tutorial right there. He said sarcastically. Haru decided to open his skill menu and see what he had :

Haru's skills

"The guy that made this is extremely vague..." Haru went ahead and used observe on everyone's equipment and see how powerful they were.

Motto's clothing and weapon

Alphonse's clothing and weapon

Haru's clothing and weapon

'Not bad' He thought. 'What about their skills? Haru used observe once more and two windows with their skills popped up:

Motto's skills

Alphonse's skills

Motto watched Alphonse stoop and pick up the sword and shield. Amazing..it wouldn’t let him touch it, but it worked for Al! This place was something extraordinary. An incredible light made him wince and tense up. Soothing warmth enveloped him and an involuntary sigh escaped the Hunter. What was this place? Why were they there? Motto couldn’t remember! Something was obscuring part of his vision as the powerful glow faded, and the Hunter blinked several times. Two colors seemed to follow his gaze wherever he looked, even after Motto waved his hand around to swat it away. Slightly panicked, he brought a hand to his eye and realized his clothes were different.

“…!” He looked down at himself and touched his chest. Armor? Gauntlets on his arms! A …sling of…a quiver of arrows!

“We are probably stuck in someone's nen, but this is too massive to have been created by one conjurer.”

Motto’s mouth fell open. This was more detailed then Greed Island..just how much did this nen have control over him anyway? His eyes had green and blue thingies and the whole clothing change happened. Swallowing, the Hunter resolved to be brave and calm for Haru and Al. They were his students and it was his responsibility to protect them. They had no idea about his weakened state and it needed to stay that way. Gripping the bow tighter, Motto mentally cursed at the situation. He’d have to be clever to get them out of this place.

“That's a very detailed tutorial right there.”

Motto followed Haru’s gaze and noticed the words had changed again.

“Voice commands?" He was totally bewildered, but decided to give it a try. Clearing his throat he said, “The name of the menu.” Nothing happened. “THE NAME OF THE MENU.”

"The guy that made this is extremely vague..."

“Yeah..” Motto agreed in a frustrated tone.

The questions Alphonse had seemed distant memory for a moment as he looked at his newly acquired weaponry. This was his first time wielding a shield , but at least it wasn't as uncomfortable as he had expected. The sword was a little heavier than he was used to, though that would probably just take some getting used to. Slowly he started to move the blade around as if he was trying to lightly cut the air. Most of his attention was directed to his own movement and the blade, though that changed the moment Haru picked up the staff.

"Agh!" A blinding flash of light caught him by surprise. His eyes shot shut as he twisted his head away, though the light was already gone by the time he did. As his vision returned to normal he noticed two abnormalities, two colored bars that seemed to follow his gaze and a completely different set of clothes. He took a glance around and saw Haru and Motto also got a make-over.

"I'd better be getting my clothes back later" A sigh escaped his lips. His clothes were nothing special, but he had gotten attached to them, especially his hat.

"So... we are stuck in a game it seems. We are probably stuck in someone's nen, but this is too massive to have been created by one conjurer. My guess is that either a whole team has worked on this or we are in an illusion." Alphonse had no idea how he had reached that conclusion, but that explanation seemed more valid than anything he could come up with, especially since he had been drawing blanks till than.

"That's a very detailed tutorial right there." He had no idea what Haru was talking about, but after a few seconds his eyes fell upon the new floating words as well. "Hmm, lets see." A short pause follow his words. "Menu?" As soon as he said the word a small list appeared in front of him. there were multiple words on it, but his eyes fell on one in particular. "Skills"

He said the word out loud without really thinking about it. A small screen appeared with two skills on it, Unbreakable and Observe. eager to try out his new ideas he turned his back towards Motto & Haru and took a few steps forward. with both feet firm on the ground and his sword pointing at the ground he looked ahead. a grin appeared on his face.

"Unbreakable!"

This was really like a MMORPG with skills, equipment and everything! Haru was extremely excited for the adventure that was about to unravel in front of them like they were a couple of anime or manga protagonists. Motto seemed much less excited and much more frustrated with the new world they had been transported to.

"Having trouble i see?"He said with a small laugh "Never played a MMORPG before? Here let me help you" Haru proceeded to explain, in as much detail as he could, how the system worked using the skill menu as an example. On the other hand, Alphonse was getting accustomed to the new system quite nicely.

He had already figured out how to open the menus and had used a skill already. Since Al had already used his skill Haru figured it was the perfect time for him to test his skill as well. "Fireball" He whispered with a smile on his face. Particles of flames started forming and swirling around a single point above Haru's staff, until they finally formed, who would have thought, a ball. His Mana pool went down by around 10% meaning with his current Mana he could use the ability 10 times in a row at best.

"Al, Catch!" he shouted as his arm came down and the fireball was sent flying at high speeds towards Al's shield, leaving a disappearing trail of flames behind as it traveled through the air.

The Fireball hit the transparent shield that was in front of Al and spread on it. The fire exhausted itself leaving behind a big crack in Alphonse's shield which meant the shield had taken damage and would break if it received more hits.

"That was fun!" He said full of excitement. "Though now my Fireball is on cool down, which means i will be less than useless in the first few fight until we level up, so i am gonna need you guys to carry me a bit for the first few levels haha... Anyways lets see what else we got here. Menu!"

The list of menus popped up. Haru looked it up and down and noticed the one named "Character". When he opened it Haru finally saw his stats for the first time while here.

Character

Guys we can allocate our stat points! After thinking a while for what kind of build he wanted to use he started changing his stat.

Haru's stats

"With this we should be ready to go. Now i know what you are gonna ask." he took a pause and continued in a weird voice mimicking Al's voice. "But Haru we do not know were we are or were we should go. To that my friend I say: You are wrong you guys didn't check our inventory, did you?" At the sound of its name the inventory menu opened up. "Oh wow that is going to be annoying. Oh well i was going to open it anyways." He extended his finger and pressed something on the menu. A small light appeared above Haru's hand and turned into a map! "we have maps! I think we should go to the city of Zahhad, its the closest one here and our rations are limited." He pointed his hand to the inventory again which held a bit of food to last them maybe a couple of days.

world map

"Oh before we go we should make a party. I am pretty sure the guy that made this probably implemented a system like that! Create Party! Invite Motto Brooks! Invite Alphonse Scally! He said and two invite messages appeared in front of the two men

"Unbreakable!"

Motto swiveled at hearing Al’s shout. He wasn’t sure what to say as the other stood there smiling. Sure Al looked cool and everything, but what was happening? What the heck did “Unbreakable’ mean? While Haru explained the MMPGO-whatever thing, Motto did his best to watch and learn. It was honestly pretty hard stuff, and he nodded a bunch of times when he shouldn’t have. It was cool how smart Haru was..Motto guessed it was part of why the kid was advancing so quickly with nen.

“Fireball.”

“Huh?” Motto’s sharp ears picked up on Haru’s whisper, and he glanced over in time to see his student attack Al with a flame hatsu. “…..!!!” Motto tried to intercept it, but he couldn’t move fast enough. For some reason it was taking forever to recover from what happened in the jungle, and he reached out in vain to protect his friend; his eyes barely tracking the intimidating blaze sizzling towards Alphonse. When the hatsu dispersed, Motto stood there astonished. He didn’t understand. Haru definitely knew what he was doing in this place, that much was certain.

“so i am gonna need you guys to carry me a bit for the first few levels haha..”

Motto nodded again. That was something he could do. The teen opened menus again, and the Hunter groaned internally. He was doomed if this was …wait, STATS? Motto joined Haru’s side and stared at his character screen intently; leaning against the boy without realizing it.

“We can make our own strengths?! Woahhhh cool. CHARACTER!” Motto moved numbers around until he was satisfied. All he needed was power and speed. Even though he didn’t want to, he allotted some points to health just in case he got hit once or twice.

Motto's Stats

“Ok, I’m all se—DAH!” Motto staggered away, swatting at the sudden invitation that magically appeared. He was completely out of his element. When he realized the new visual phenomenon wasn’t dangerous, Motto gave the “accept” box a tentative poke. The invitation vanished and he sighed with relief. Groaning, he moved his shoulder and unfastened the heavy plated armor. It was too constricting, and his arm was already hurting. The Hunter removed most of the weird stuff and settled with the comfortable and loose basics.

“Ahhhhhh that’s so much better.” With that, he walked over to Haru and picked him up.

Motto's new appearance

"Al, Catch!"
Haru's voice caused Alphonse to turn and face a fireball heading in his direction. He had no idea how much the barrier would be able to take, not expecting it to honor its name. The ball of fire made contact with his shield and seemed to spread itself out across it due to the impact. It seemed the fire wasn't able to survive for long as it dissipated and disappeared. His shield had taken damage from the impact and as expected now had a large crack across its surface. "Seems like it wasn't so unbreakable after all." Alphonse smiled as he looked the other two. The shield had served its purpose and so he made it disappear again. "seems like I will be defending for now,at least we look like a balanced team."

Alphonse's attention as back to the menu rather quickly, there was still a lot he hadn't seen. The next option he wanted to check out was named "Character". It seemed like Haru had the same idea as he heard him call out. "Guys we can allocate our stat points!" soon he had the same menu opened and was looking at his options. It seemed like he had 30 points to divide and 6 options to divide them under. He didn't want to just split everything evenly, he needed to think about it and ended up just standing there for a while.

Lost in thought he started running through the options in his head. As a defender he would probably need to be able to take a few hits, so he should allocate some points to his hp. With just one combat spell he didn't feel the need to increase his magic oriented stats, thought he wasn't completely sure. In the end he chose to boost his strength, constitution and wisdom, allocating them to fit his newly chosen role.

Alphonse's Stats

As he turned to the others he had to suppress a chuckle. It seemed that Motto had taken off part of his clothes and had picked up Haru. He hadn't been paying attention due to his stat menu, so he had no idea what was going on. It seemed like nothing serious so for now he just stood there, watching to see what would happen next.

"What the hell?!? Put me down this instance! Why do you always have to act so weird!" Was Haru's reaction to Motto picking him up. His emotions were mostly comprised of confusion, its not every day a person just picks you up out of nowhere for no reason. "What the hell is wrong with you!"

After they had resolved the unnecessary "Issue" Haru dusted off his clothes a bit, turned to the other two and said: "Well now that whatever that was is done we should start moving. We can figure out more things about this word on the way. Anyway, we need to start progressing through the story if we ever want to figure a way out of here and who put us here. If this place is like a mmorpg it's gonna be a long ride."

With that said and done he opened his map. Haru did this through the use of the word map, though it could also be accessed from within the inventory where it could be found in the first inventory space as default (You can rearrange your inventory to fit your liking). He looked around to see which way they should go to get to the village of Zahhad. It was not easy to find it cause of the endless plains but Haru noticed faint mountains in the background. The map indicated that the mountains were located behind the city meaning they were in the same direction. It's this way, let's go." He said and started walking towards the mountains.

They were walking for around 25 minutes and the village was still nowhere in sight. "I hope we are going the correct way, who knows what we might find if we don't. If Zahhad isn't the place where this all begins we could be facing enemies with levels 10 times above ours. But at least we won't be alone anymore." He barely managed to finish taking when a green blob hit him in the face with quite a velocity making him fall back on his back.

-25

A notification appeared above Haru's head to indicate the loss of hp. Haru quickly tried to clean his face with a sweep of his palm over it. The blob was removed at once and was thrown at the grass. The blob left behind a thin layer of mucus behind. "Ewwww, what the fuck threw that thing at me. Its like an oversized booger" Haru took a look around to find nothing that would be able to throw it at him. His gaze changed back towards the blob, it was then that he noticed it was moving. ... It's a fucking smile. He said kind of disappointed. Smiles are one of the most common enemies in mmos and frankly they are kind of annoying. He said.

"Observe!" The slime's stats appeared before all of them. Usually observe would only reveal the stats to the user but thanks to the party function the information was shared between all three of them.

Slime status

"I am guessing he used his "Slime charge" on me. But i gotta say i am wondering why it hasn't attacked alre-" Before he could finish his words the Slime activated his "Slime toss" throwing a chunk of mucus aimed at motto's face. "Let's take it down, it will help us start leveling up, get stronger."

Two more Slimes appeared out of seemingly nowhere close to Alphonse and threw their mucus at Alphonse. "Al, Watch out!" He screamed out to try and warn him. Fireball! He shouted as the fireball started forming above his staff. He swung his arm to fling the fireball at one of the Slimes next to Alphonse.

A big red -52 appeared above the slime. Great now i have no way to attack. I am so god dang weak right now. He said and run up to the same slime swinging his staff around to hit it twice.

"Wow that sucks." He said in a salty attitude, he was kind of annoyed by his uselessness right now.
