(Casino Vibes) Resting his chin atop clasped hands, Aiza eyed each of his competitors as they arrived. Opposite from him, he noticed a relaxed Jarvis subtly doing the same. The first fellow seemed ordinary enough, though he was short and heavyset; he was built like a bodyguard. A physique that perhaps indicated more than met the eye. Suspicious of the man's somewhat unsophisticated approach, Aiza suspected his naive demeanour was little more than a facade. Even should he be incorrect, he tended to favour the assumption that his opponents were just as skilled as himself - if not moreso. In sharp contrast, the second rather wobbly arrival was more overtly dubious. Clad from head to foot in an oversized trenchcoat, with a wide-brimmed hat tipped over her eyes, it was clear that the strange choice of attire wasn't designed with a woman's frame in mind. Aiza was unable to contain a bemused look and furrowed brow, that forced Jarvis to visibly hold back laughter. It was fairly clear to them both that the eerily fresh-faced 'woman' was hiding something strange beneath that giant coat. Petite, pretty, and dressed a little more appropriately than the player who preceded her, the final gambler was perhaps the least assuming of the three. Though similarly to the first, if anything it prompted Aiza to be more wary; he also took note that she appeared to know the burly man personally. Meanwhile Jarvis seemed fairly relaxed, and he greeted all three of them with an infectiously eager grin. "I'd say five qualifies as a party, wouldn't you?" Aiza nodded in Jarvis' direction. "Oh, it more than qualifies! Take it away, babe." Jarvis gestured flamboyantly in the adjudicator's direction, prompting her to begin. "Good evening everyone, I'll be your adjudicator for this evening. My name is Sammy! For those of you who aren't familiar with the Kitty Kat's rules for 'Liar's Dice', allow me to quickly run you through them..." Sammy took her own cup of dice from the table, and used it to punctuate her demonstration. (Explanation Vibes) "In front of each of you is a cup of four dice. You each begin the round by shaking your cups, and placing them face-down on the table. You can peak at your rolls whenever you like, but make sure you keep your dice hidden!" She giggled. "Once you've all rolled, the first player will make a bid. Your bid is an attempt to guess how many of a number is face up on the table. For instance, four 3's. You can bid as high or as low as you like, but remember that bids get riskier the higher they get! The next player may then make a bid or you can call the previous player a 'Liar'! If you decide to call the previous player, then everyone at the table reveals their dice. If the bid was correct, then the caller will lose a die. However! If the previous player was incorrect, and the number was less than they bid, then they lose a die. If a player loses all of their dice, then they are eliminated from the game. We'll continue like this around the table until only one player remains." "Oh and one more thing! There is only one way to get dice back during a game. If you think the previous player's bid is exactly right, you may declare that you think so. If you're right, not only does that player lose a die, they must give it to you! Be careful though, if you're incorrect then you lose a dice as usual! I hope everything was clear, but if not, do any of you have any questions?" Edited by Flash, Oct 18 2017, 08:56 AM.

"Motto?" The Hunter’s head whipped around and froze. Five full seconds must have passed as Motto gawked at the beautiful girl. He hadn’t been prepared to run into Stella tonight, it felt as if he just won a huge prize. But Motto actually felt dizzy seeing her in that dress. It was too perfect..too white, and too curvy, and too close. She was like a magazine girl or something! Only she knew his name and legs. LEGS. Legs for days. Stella’s legs. Dress. A queer cough arrested his throat and Motto gripped the table to steady himself. He was supposed to say something or do something. She might leave! The Hunter’s chair slid back and Motto nearly tripped on his own feet as he stood. That’s what guys did for beautiful ladies, right? Stand up and wait until they sat, right? He should have stood up for the pretty girl in the trench coat, but Motto had been a bit embarrassed. Outside, he mistook her for a dude.. He couldn’t tear his eyes off Stellla’s legs. Something about how soft and nice they looked with the pretty fabric draped around them in such a girlish and cool way. She’d asked him a question back there, hadn’t she? Something about … Drawing a complete blank, Motto Brook stood there mouth hanging open; nearly drooling at every little swish of her skirt. Shortly after Stella seated herself, he barely managed to avoid falling having misjudged where his own seat was. During the game lady’s explanation, Motto turned his body towards the table but couldn’t manage to get his head to follow. Stella’s mouth was real cute and her hair did nice stuff and her little shoulders were perfect for things. She had a girly chin, and neck..like a princess. Her shape and everything was so fun to look at and the dress was fancy but playful too. It really enhanced her whole appearance! Had she chosen to sit elsewhere, the Hunter’s behavior would be the same; enchanted to his very bones at the sight of Stella.

Lynnea felt her heart was about to jump out of her chest when Drake risked exposing their true identities; such unnatural movements of a person's body weren't things that the people seated at the table could miss noticing. She was mostly sure that they had found out right there and then about her and Drake's disguise, but playing it dumb would be the wisest option to take since there wasn't much commotion caused by their little blunder. Lynnea coughed, then tilted her head down to cover her face even more with the oversized fedora. Another person arrived at the table just as the both of them were settling down. A female, judging by the voice, greeting an acquaintance at the table with an element of surprise in her intonation. If this was any other place, Lynnea would have thought that it must be fate or an extremely unlikely coincidence, but the fame of the casino served as a great magnet for chance meetings like this. Maybe when she had the chance, Lynnea would take a peek at the owner of the pretty voice later. It was soon made clear that the lady would also be taking part in this table's game, which made exactly five players (counting both Lynnea and Drake as 1 person, of course, since they were dressed in 1 man's trenchcoat) as pointed out by one of the first people to have occupied the seats here. His suggestion was met with no objection, and the croupier took it as a signal to begin explaining the game - Liar's Dice. ...What is that? Thought Lynnea. Obviously, she had no experience gambling at all, so the games' names and the rules that entail. She didn't plan to actually participate in a table game, either, since all she was concerned with was to gain entry and maybe mess around with a few slot machines to win some cash, though she was aware that those were usually rigged, anyway. Still, they were the only things she knew about casinos... So she had no choice but to focus on listening to Sammy's explanation. So far so good, the rules were clear and they sounded like normal game rules. Perhaps it was just her, but her nerves combined with the atmosphere surrounding her as Sammy explained how the game worked had made her heart thump louder than usual. She swallowed her saliva, processing the details in her mind and repeating them to herself so she would lessen the chances of her missing out on anything. With the way they were dressed right now, it would be more convincing if Drake were to become their hands. He would have to be the one playing for the both of them as the entity known as Trenchcoat at this very moment. She tapped on the boy's shoulders before speaking up, hoping for him to notice that she was in no position to be playing. "Question," Lynnea growled, purposely lowering her pitch as low as she could manage to while simultaneously forcing her grunts out as best as she could. "Is this simply a game with no consequence, Sammy?" She coughed again, then paused; as if signaling the arrival of more tension to what was supposed to be an evening of fun gaming - even though it was legit from her straining her vocal chords. "What are we betting?" |

OOC Drake couldn't help but give a small grin as he heard the rules be explained. It certainly sounded like a fun game, one Drake would have to play sometime himself. But that wasn't why he was grinning. He leaned his head forward a bit and to the side. To anyone else it would look like the trench coat abomination he was a part of was simply leaning forward a bit, nothing to be suspicious about. Drake's grin grew a bit as he used his small opening to look around at the table. He was gonna cheat. Drake had to hold back a bit of, admittedly childish, snickering as the thought to cheat came to him. If he could just position himself a bit to the left or right when people checked their dice, he could try and sneak a peak. Everyone would be trying to hide what they rolled from people on the same eye level as them, they wouldn't expect someone secretly peaking below them "Even if I only get a look at one, it'll certainly increase our chance of success. Any chance to fill in unknown info will help!" he thought to himself. Drake was about to shout out how everyone there would be bested by his amazing cheating skills before remembering he was suppose to be the silent lower half...""Dammit!" Drake thought in defeat "What good is breaking the rules if people don't know you're doing it!" Drake looked down a bit at this realization. There went the reason he wanted to cheat in the first place. After a bit of feeling down from that realization Drake heard Lynnea bring up what exactly they were betting. Drake's expression brightened up a bit at that. He had been so absorbed into the thrill of sneaking in and planning to cheat he forgot the main reason people bet, money! Well, it wouldn't be as fulfilling as impressing people with "epic cheating skills" but as someone from a family of thieves, Drake knew any chance to make some cash is welcomed. So Drake began waiting silently, preparing for operation cheating Edited by X12377, Nov 5 2017, 12:44 PM.

“Question.” At the sound of a young girl’s voice growling and grunting, Motto’s attention to Stella faltered. A dark brow lifted, and the Hunter turned to cast a suspicious glance at the trench coat guy…who wasn’t a guy at all by the sound of it. His nose was messed up from the cologne shop, but Motto’s ears were workin’ fine. His eyes too, as a matter of fact. Upon closer scrutiny, he could tell the player was definitely a girl. A hint of rosy, youthful cheek was visible even though she was keeping her face low underneath that hat. Narrowing his eyes, Motto leaned down until his own face nearly touched the table in order to get a better look. Sure enough, a pair of large, beautiful blue eyes could be seen; framed by thick lashes and strawberry blonde hair. An amused grin crept onto the Hunter’s face as he sat straighter and took notice of her small hands. ![]() Why was she pretending to be a dude? And that question she just asked was a good one. “Yeah.” Motto chimed in, his knee bouncing up and down as the excitement grew. “We’re bettin’ money, right? How much? What if we have questions? You know, about the game? After it starts I mean. Heh.” A hint of color showed on the young man’s face as he waited for Sammy’s answer. Motto wanted to blend in and have fun like everyone else. With a quick movement he swiped the drink from a passing server's tray and downed it. The Hunter smiled and waved a few bills in the air while the server looked around in confusion. |
