"You're not gonna like this"

Wide, terrified turquoise looked at the fierce eyes that stared at her. Ylva's malnourished body shook as she got up to run to the bathroom, desperately trying to find some sort of way to put a barrier between Motto and herself. He was too strong and much too fast; instantly she was taken ahold of and pressed against the other. The wolf struggled against him, crying out in frustration and utter betrayal from someone she had put so much faith in.

"N-No! You...You're supposed to be different from them!! W-W-Why...? I trusted...I trusted you, Motto..."

Forcefully she was pushed down against the mattress, which triggered her to lay still and accept anything that was going to be done to her. Her tear-stricken face was pressed down against the sheets and mattress; it was something she was all to familiar with. It easily made her disassociate while her heart for Motto broke into pieces that would prove to be difficult for anyone to put back together.

The wolf couldn't help but ask herself one question:

What did she do wrong? Why did always end up in such situations?

Eyes were vacant as Ylva questioned herself internally. Her body was limp as Motto got on top of her to pin her down. The majyuu twitched and whined slightly due to the pain of her tail being handled, wanting nothing but all of this to stop. If he were to take notice, he'd see the multiple scars on the wolf's back especially the large burn scar that took up most of the space.

The tip of the blade was cool against her back, but Ylva didn't dare flinch or respond in any way. She was lost in her thoughts that constantly blamed her for everything that was occurring.

You're a fool, thinking that he was here to actually save you.

He'll never love you.

He's like all the other men you've slept with, harming you and then treating you with kindness. You're nothing special to him. If you were special to him, he'd never want to hurt you....

Those words were chipping away at everything; her hope, the remaining fragments of her heart and the kindness that made her who she was.

The pressure of Motto sitting on her faded but she remained quiet and stiff as he dragged her over to him and flipped her over. Apology after apology came from him as he pulled her close and pet her hair and head.

It was the exact same way that Demyan treated her after she spent days in that room or had any sort of punishment.

Why...was it so similar...

Yet different.

His voice was panicked, pleading to be forgiving unlike Demyan's. Her body relaxed into Motto's embrace as the she-wolf slowly wrapped her arms around the other, eyes devoid of any emotion except sadness. He said it was all over....but was it?

Ylva's...trust in him was cracked and falling. The majyuu wasn't sure if she should trust him but...she could still feel that her heart ached for him despite what he almost did to her.

Was she...that weak of a creature?

A knock on Motto's door made her freeze; more fear stirred in her heart. Was it them?! Were they here to take her back?!

Slowly, Ylva’s arms lifted around his back and Motto knew deep down he’d cut her. Not her body, but her feelings. He had no regret however, he’d follow through with it in a heartbeat if he knew his knife would free her. He was just that kind of guy. Probably the reason why his own parents didn’t want him or anyone else for that matter.

“Ylva.” His voice was grim. “I know it’s cruel but I will-“

Someone was at the door. He had totally lost his focus and hadn’t paid attention to the sound of approaching footfalls in the hall. Some bodyguard rescue force he was turning out to be. Tensing, he expanded a protective shroud around himself and kept his hold on Ylva. A low sound in his chest accompanied Motto’s hostility, and he sniffed the air. Chinese food.

Chinese food.

Amber eyes widened. They’d arrived with his order! Making the transition from protective to celebratory wasn’t a smooth one for Motto, and he ended up shuffling sideways to the door with the girl in his arms and his aura up. The delivery man watched as the door creaked open to reveal a young couple with bizarre expressions staring him down.

“M-Motto Brook?”

Nodding, the spiky-haired man reached forward to took the bag. The door creaked and shut. It was one of the more interesting deliveries of the night.

Inside the room, Motto held the bag and still kept Ylva close. It was as if she’d fall into little pieces if he let go. At least, that’s what he kept imagining.

“I’ll stand guard here. I want you to eat. I know you probably don’t feel like it, but you need it, Ylva.” He continued to stand as he was while waiting for her answer.

She was scared as the knocking happened once again, but Motto, with Ylva in his arms seemed to walk close to the door.

Hunger soon got a hold of the she-wolf as the scent of cooked food found its way to her. She could smell it a mile away but the terror Ylva felt overrode anything else during that time. The wolf placed her face in the crook of Motto's neck, ears brushing against this cheek as she did so while he went to get the food. The thought of food being delivered to one's home seemed like a crazy concept but it was probably how the men that watched over her and the other girls ended up getting food.

It made a lot of sense because it was so convenient.

As Motto opened the front door, Ylva peeked up at the man that had their food. The majyuu stared at him for a bit, blinking slowly before giving the man a wave with her pinky finger. It looked like he was startled by the way both Motto and Ylva looked at him.

Hearing the door close, the wolf looked up to the other with sad eyes, as if she wanted to ask him why he did what he did to her. Her heart and mind were still in turmoil; to trust him...or to not trust him? It scared her that he'd act like that towards her, pulling out a knife and wanting to harm her...

Did he think that...her being dead would release her from this terrible life she'd been in for the past 5 months?

That she was better off not being here and he'd do it by his own hands?

Whatever the reason...the majyuu ultimately decided to trust him anyway. He had always been kind to her, except now. Her heart still pined for him even after he was rough with her. Ylva thought of reasons why he would've been so scary with her. It was probably due to the wolf telling her story; made him loose sight and got him angry again...

Ylva was brought out of her thoughts when Motto expressed how he wanted her to eat but...she was completely exhausted from everything. It was all a whirlwind of emotions and physical strain. Eating seemed like too much of a chore.

"...I'll eat," she said softly as she slowly slipped out of Motto's arms and onto the floor, "but only if you eat with me too and keep me company...please" Her hand found his as she looked to the bag of food. It smelled like nothing she's ever eaten before, which piqued her curiosity.

"What kind of food is this, Motto? I've never smelled anything like this before," she muttered softly, ears alert and attentive as Ylva sniffed the air around the bag.

Motto’s thoughts were on how best to hunt down every single one of Ylva’s brutalizers when she touched his hand. Looking down, he considered her for a moment before deciding it was fine to sit.

“Chinese food.” He answered with a distracted scowl, and tossed some form of meat into his mouth before chewing it with the same frown.

“Ylva.” He swallowed down a mouthful and continued chewing. “Tell me all the places they are. The guys who.. you know. Where do they go? Where do they meet? I wanna know where they eat, sleep, everything.”

Taking another angry bite, Motto blinked slowly and stared off at nothing as he visualized bashing his way through an unsuspecting group. The last place lions expected an attack was in their own den. He’d go about it carefully, take them out one by one if he had to.. that was more of his old friend’s style though. Motto preferred to just march in and take them all at once. He wasn’t interested in games or intimidation. Just execution.

A dull ache brought a hand to his eyes.

Grabbing another handful of whatever, Motto shoved it in him mouth and closed his eyes. If politicians and police officers were involved there was no other way, right? The Hunter’s Association. They sometimes moved slow, and what if they fucked up? What if he failed Ylva again by relying on the Association? ‘I can’t just go kill a bunch of people.’ Motto didn’t want to eat anymore. Pushing himself away so that his back rested against the door, the Hunter crossed his legs and fumed. Killing them was the only way dammit. ‘But I don’t kill anymore. There’s gotta be another way.’

His head was killing him.

Ylva picked up a fork and started to eat some of the food. It was made with things she's hadn't tasted before, and it was hard not to eat every thing in such a hurried manner. For her, it felt like this would be the only time she'd have cooked food like this. Taking a box of food for herself, the majyuu started to eat but failed to slow down when she ate. She huddled over her food as she ate.

As she continued to eat, chewing on a rolled up something (an eggroll), the she-wolf looked at the other as he named the food they were eating with a scowl. He still seemed upset with everything. Ylva's pace slowed as she chewed on food slowly. She wished this had all gone differently. Dragging Motto into her situation felt terrible...and selfish.

He didn't have to do anything but now that he was involved, he felt like he had to do something.

And it pained her.

Ylva didn't want to see him hurt because of her and she knew that they would both come out of this scathed; it's just how these things went.

Lost in thought, Ylva was brought back to the present when the other Hunter started to ask her about the whereabouts of the people that...did stuff to her. Honestly, she didn't know and she'd have to explain why she didn't.

Swallowing, Ylva looked to Motto and fidgeted with her fingers. "Umm...I-I don't know," she said softly and sighed, "they...like to move us around a lot in cases someone decides to spill the beans to someone. They have placed all over this damn city..."

She quickly turned her gaze away away, looking sad as she did so. She didn't have a lot of information for him to go off.

"...They blind folded me when they took me to "The Room" and left me that way until I complied with them so I have no idea where that is either," she muttered softly.

Eating a bit, the wolf thought of some way that she could help and only managed to settle one solution.

She'd have to try and use her Nen; it was the only way that she remembered actually having her captors coming to her. And Demyan was always there as well.

Demyan.

He was very important in all this; if they could get to him, and only him, it would certainly be a blow to whatever organization he was leading. Like making an example out of him? But...something told her to not mention using her Nen.

That she was...betraying Demyan on some twisted level...? Why would feel that way...? Was it because he always said he loved her, and showed her love even though...he did terrible things to her?

Ylva was quiet for a while.

"We...We can use the tattoo," she said quietly, "every time I try to use my Nen constantly, they come running....it's...it's worth a chance, r-right?"

Rice flew as Motto coughed on his food.

“Bait. You’re bait! We’ll lure them to us. That’ll work pretty well… mmm.”
Motto brought a thumb to his teeth and blinked down at the carpet. "Let’s do it tonight. Ylva.”

It was settled. He’d trick them with false alarm and when the first guy didn’t return more would come.. until there were NONE. He hadn’t entirely recovered from losing control a few hours ago, but Motto wasn’t good at waiting. If there were sex slaving bastards to eliminate, than why not get started? Right?

“We’ll have to get another room.. under a different name. Yeah. That way it’ll be easier to stay off the radar..but wait.” Motto had gotten to his feet and was pacing. Stopping to point a finger at Ylva he raised an eyebrow.

“Have they ever..found ya…when you didn’t use nen?” Maybe there was more to it than a mere behavioral tool. It seemed plausible that whoever marked her would be able to track Ylva down with or without that specific criteria. He might just risk it anyway. Maybe set a trap in case a bunch of ‘em came.

A pang from the back of his mind throbbed and Motto fought back the guilt that threatened to shake his choice. He didn’t want to slaughter people needlessly. Just wipe out a bunch of kidnapping, manipulative demons.

“Is there anything you’re not tellin’ me, Ylva? I need to know.” He stood facing her with his hands on his hips and visibly wound up. He wasn’t his usual self, but it was understandable. This was a serious situation and some very permanent things were gonna be happening soon.

"Bait?"

Ylva tilted her head to the side as she finished her food. The eagerness in Motto's voice worried her, but she couldn't change that. He was affected, emotionally, by her testimony.

"Y-Yeah...I'll be the bait for this," her voice was very quiet. For her, it was scary because she'd get in trouble in the end. It was hard to think that...this could possibly be the last time that the majyuu would do anything like this and NOT receive something bad for doing so.

Motto talked about getting another room but Ylva shook her head.

"You literally gave them your license; they probably tried to get as much information from it as possible, to make sure you were legit in purchasing me for the week," she said, wringing her hands in worry, as he asked her if they'd tracked her before without her using Nen. Sadly, the wolf nodded.

"Y-Yeah...they found me when I didn't return home like I should've; I learned that the first time I tried running away...," she said while zoning out a little bit, "so they're going to find us if I don't return after ten days. They'll sense that something is up and they'll be here."

"I don't think they'd get suspicious if we stayed at some hotel, though. That's...where most of my transactions took place anyway."

When he said he wanted to do it tonight, though, that was when Ylva stiffened. Tonight? Right now? That was too soon, at least in her mind. It would certainly raise suspicions and Demyan wasn't stupid in the slightest. But Motto looked too determined to wait until morning or even the next day. He then asked her if he should know about anything else, and nothing came to mind for Ylva except one thing.

"Demyan...will try anything to keep me, I think," she muttered softly, "I bring in the most money so...be careful when he's here...he's not like most men. He'll do whatever he wants to get what he wants." The majyuu stood up and wandered over to the broken window crossing her arms over her chest. This, to her, didn't seem well thought out, but it seemed like it was the only way.

"I'm...ready when you are," she said finally, giving a sigh as she awaited to see what Motto wanted to do.

Dark brows furrowed together at Ylva’s answer. So they could find her anytime.. anywhere. The fact that they had his information didn’t bother Motto. He had some jenni on him, and would have given a false name in another hotel.. but it was pointless now. He’d have to rethink things. As Ylva continued to answer his questions, the Hunter resumed pacing. He had ten days to figure something out. Her warnings about Demyan didn’t concern Motto. He only cared about how he could take out as many people as possible while keeping her safe. It would be tricky..not a lot of room for mistakes. If only he knew a way to get that damned tattoo off her!

The young man touched the mayjuu’s shoulder as she stood at the window. “I’m sorry I’m asking a lot of questions. I’m sure it sucks pretty bad to talk about this stuff.” Regarding her quietly for a moment, Motto appreciated her bravery. She had been upset earlier, and frightened before that. Now here she was, prepared to meet her captors head on.

“I don’t know if you should lure them tonight. Don’t do it, Ylva. I think we need more time to come up with a plan.” That way he could face whoever came for her with his full might instead of what he had to work with now. “Get some rest, Ylva. I’ll stand guard. Oh. Wait.” He’d started to walk away when Motto turned suddenly and came back with his nose scrunched up in thought.

“Who..uhhh marked ya? The tattoo. Who did it? Because he’s going first.” A dark lust for blood pulsed and Motto’s head throbbed with pain. ‘You’re turning into what you always feared dude. You’re never going to come back from it.’ But there was no other way. Things would be fine, because there was no other way but to kill them all.

Motto looked upset again. It looked like things were not going the way he expected, and she couldn't help but feel like it was her fault for not having an easier way to get to the people that held her captive.

Tired eyes stared listlessly out at the darkened city.

In all honesty, Ylva was scared that everything would go wrong. It usually did when she attempted to flee, even when other people were helping her out. She didn't want to be a disappointment for Motto. Maybe...this time it would be different?

Ears twitched a bit as she heard him apologizing for asking so many questions of her. The wolf scoffed while laughing in a hollow manner.

"It's fine; why should anything like that affect me?" Her voice was a bit curt, but still held a sadness to it. The Brave front she put in was just a façade; she was constantly on the verge of breaking down and it was taking a lot of her resolve to just stand at the window.

She didn't want Motto to see her be weak anymore; it would only make him angrier at the whole situation again...

The wolf moved away from Motto a little bit, a bit of fear still lingering from earlier in the evening as well as feeling unworthy of such a touch. Hearing him change his mind about luring them tonight, the she-wolf nodded her head but then laughed that same scoffing laugh when he told her to rest.

"I-I hardly ever sleep anymore so you take your bed," she muttered softly while toying with a strand of her hair, "I'll be fine on the floor." With that, she walked away and found a corner where she could see every aspect of the room. The majyuu crossed her legs and stared off, thinking how the rest of the next ten days would go. It scared her but...she knew it was necessary. Looking back to Motto when he asked who put the tattoo on her, Ylva looked away.

"D-Demyan...he p-put it on me," she whispered softly as she pulled her knees to her chest; a lust for killing came from the young man and it made her shudder as she buried her face in her knees. He...wasn't thinking about going after Demyan, was he? That man...that man was something else and he scared her to high heaven.

If Motto went up against him....he'd be really injured...and that was the last thing she wanted to happen in all this.

"Don't...face him on your own," she said softly, slowly looking up at her friend and companion, "h-he's...cunning and...not like o-other humans..."

Her laugh surprised Motto, but he suppressed his reaction. Ylva was different now. Bitter. Only a little though.. it was a tiny seed of darkness. Small enough to ignore, but it bothered him. Hearing her laugh a second time produced a visible cringe. Motto wasn’t equipped to deal with that kind of thing. His own head was too confusing never mind figuring out someone else’s mental stuff. The Hunter’s mouth opened to respond and said nothing. It was with a combination of regret and agitation that he watched the mayjuu settle herself on the floor. He didn’t like feeling stupid and would normally go with his gut with stuff like this, but Motto’s head hurt and his aura felt kinda off. Probably just needed sleep. He’d be able to stay alert enough to protect her while letting his body rest..it was how he slept sometimes even when he was alone. A skill he learned when he was a kid, and one that he kept sharp. Maybe Ylva hadn’t even changed, and he just didn’t know her as well as he thought. Dammit it was annoying.

In an effort to force himself to stop thinking about it, Motto shook his head and crossed the room to sit in front of the door. Then she said it. That name again. Demyan. That son of a bitch that burned her license. Made money off her. The one she kept mentioning over and over again…that stupid…fucking jerk tattooed her. That demon.

“Is he the guy that kissed you?”
Amber eyes flashed. Even though Motto was exhausted, he felt like he probably kick that dude’s ass into next week if he walked in right then. It sucked to have to wait. Motto hated waiting. The fact that the bastard was probably sleeping peacefully in a fancy bed somewhere really pissed him off. A sharp pain cut through the young man’s thoughts, nearly causing him to gasp. “Nevermind. I don’t wanna know.” He closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead while offering a weak smile. “He won’t be doing that anymore.”
