Spike's frown deepened after his pitiable fare replied back to his genuine concern with sarcasm, but not because of any personal offense. No, but because the response seemed equal parts programming from her handlers and understandable bitterness that had settled in. Things were worse than he thought, and got even worse after she apologized and talked about the men in question. Unless they had her outfit wiretapped in some manner, only Nen could really explain intimate knowledge like that.

The hunter ground his teeth lightly as he rolled around what kind of hatsu he imagined capable of keeping tabs like that, but he gave up in the face of the near infinite possibilities Nen could bring about. Although, a curse or parasite seemed the most likely in this situation. He had a dozen other questions for the fare, not that he would endanger her for the sake of his curiosity.

Silence again filled the car as Spike stewed in fact all he could really do in the situation is keep driving the car and keep the fare from being late in the following days. With Nen involved it wouldn't be as easy helping her out as dropping her at an airport with whatever money he had in his pocket. At the very minimum it seemed like she needed an exorcist to wipe clean whatever hooks the bastards had in her first. The hunter gummed his lips wondering both if he had one that owed him a favor and if he was being insane going out of his way to help a woman he just met.

It didn't make any sense, and honestly was a bit disturbing.

Was he having all these thoughts because freeing her was the right thing to do, or was he really just lusting after her himself? The latter was a seriously sleazy prospect, but not one that Spike would dismiss without some introspection. "Hmm? Oh, yes, no prob. I'll take care of it. I know just the right route, beautiful views at dawn." The hunter rambled off as the fare asked for a kindness he could easily commit to. Instead of turning right at a stoplight he took a left, aiming them towards the restaurant district and the harbor.

As uncomfortable as it was Spike returned to wondering his real motives for this sudden altruism; Although, his vaguely smiling face didn't betray his inner turmoil as he drove past unremarkable streets until currently closed eateries started to appear. The hunter wouldn't lie to himself that he wouldn't like to have a go at the fare in a more consensual setting, but deep down the thought of helping her with that being his reward sickened his stomach.

So, as they turned onto a row of breakfast and brunch restaurants in the processing of putting out sandwich boards and sidewalk furniture a solid smile spread across his lips in relief. Spike didn't think he was a scumbag, but sometimes it took some soul-searching to make sure he was doing the right thing in the vilest circumstances.

"Miss, I know you don't have any money, but would you like breakfast? I'll pick up the tab." He asked looking back in the rear view mirror, then looking at some of his favorites eateries on one side of the road and the sun rising over the glistening harbor on the other. "Also, is it alright I ask for your name? Tap the seat with your knuckles twice if you're not supposed to reveal that either."

“Thank you.”

The wolf looked up to him, gave him one of her smiles, and turned to watch the view once more. A small yawn came from the majyuu but the prospects of seeing a different side of the city, especially one that was called “beautiful”. Ever since she’d been living in York Shin, the lack of foliage and fauna had made her quite sad; concrete and metal were somewhat foreign things for her. It took a while for her to get used to such things…

But who could ever get use to such a life style…?

As the sun started to rise and the scenery changed to something that was a bit more open to the sky, the majyuu’s ears perked up in mild excitement. It was a part of city she’d never been too. There were all sorts of nice looking cafes and small eateries with cute signs. It all looked so nice and warm in the sunlight. Blinking, the she-wolf looked back up to Spike with wide eyes. He…wanted to buy her food? The mere thought of warm, cooked food, made her salivate and her stomach grumble. It felt…wrong to accept his offer of food, but…it had been a few days since she was fed.

And the smells that seemed to permeate the air didn’t help her hunger.

“…Okay,” she said softly, hoping it wouldn’t put her in jeopardy but loving the idea, more, of having a nice meal.

Hearing that he also wanted her name, the majyuu hesitated on that.

Giving out here real name was a big No-No and that would definitely get her in trouble. Gently, Ylva rapt her knuckles against the window, twice, as she looked out at the little establishments.

“So…where is this place that we’ll be having food?” she asked, giving the other a playful look as her ears twitched in anticipation for food, “I…haven’t really eaten anywhere in the city before.”

It was fun not knowing where they would stop; it reminded her a lot about going on UMA Hunter missions. That aspect of her life meant to a lot to her. Now...she was a disgrace to that title, being a common whore for wealthy men to take advantage of, for the right price of course. Things have certainly turned for the worse for her.
