Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad.

Legacy of Akinzu: The Rim

A wyvern's nest, carved deep into a large cliff face, leading directly towards the Ziggurat. A highly perilous route, perhaps great danger might yield great rewards?

The sun sheepishly peered over the horizon as it arose from its nightly slumber, gazing across the desert with fiery eyes. Immediately it began to bake the sand below the feet of a pair of intrepid travellers, who headed briskly towards one of Buster Filigree's many entryways to the Ziggurat. - "The Rim" he called it. Almost as though the god of war had taken his jagged blade to the landscape, and exposed its very marrow, the sheer red cliffs towered over the dunes like a wall of red stone.

Xandra's guide strode ahead as they approached the cliffs, and pointed down at the her papers - a copied section of Filigree's final works. It read:

"...I'm fairly certain that this entrance will lead roughly towards the third tier of the Ziggurat (the Great Hall as I've come to call it) and perhaps even the Barracks on the fourth. The entrance is undoubtedly the nest of a fairly large Wyvern. However I've studied the nest for a long while, and I haven't personally witness it emerge. However! I'm a firm believer that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence! There are plenty of tunnels around the Ziggurat, and frankly it'd be foolish to think that a wily Wyvern wouldn't make good use of them! Unfortunately this illness has me too weak to climb up and make a proper assessment. Though I'm sure that there are athletes among you, so I'm damned sure that it shouldn't be too much of an issue!"

Turning his hand in the direction of the dark opening that sat at around halfway towards the top, he grunted at the woman he accompanied and stared her down. "This one... is dangerous." He spent a short time fumbling for his words, before opening his mouth to speak again. "...is big ones that live here uh? Is like uh... how you say this... um..." He flapped his arms awkwardly, contorting his mouth into a grim snarl. "Drag'on! They are like Drag'on! But small, you know? But uh... is big to you." The man scratched his head, chuckling at his own inability to truly convey his thoughts. "You must climb."

Sure that Xandra understood as much as he would be able to convey, the man shrugged and turned back in the direction they came, leaving Xandra at the base of the cliff.

I'm just here to RP

Lost in it’s agony, the Wvyern lifted it’s snout high and trembled. Four clawed limbs were tense and quivering, and the monster seemed to hold a breath while closing it’s reptilian eyes. Apex choose this moment to drop into the cavern; his nearly flawless Zetsu still in effect, his movement unnoticed, and his landing well-timed with the creature’s sharp guttural cry. The sadistic Hunter recognized instantly that the Wvyern was in terrible pain and watched Xandra prepare her weapon before making an elegant swipe with it. A powerful woman, but too timid.

The cavern’s complete darkness would have made it necessary for Apex to rely on Gyo if the Huntress’s aura wasn’t so vivid as she darted from her point of attack. Her copious and disciplined aura was beautiful. In theory, Xandra was talented enough to be his prey but Levi hadn’t the patience to see her strategy unfold. His hunt for the immortality-chasing Rasempra was a bitter sweet one; having to enter a place teeming with so many tempting opportunities, but to deny himself those trophies was empowering. Elevating. The meat of denial. Admittedly, it was amusing from time to time as well. To sense the searching auras, the silent ones that waited, to greet the bold with his own. How quickly they all fluttered into a defensive posture..the small children of nen.

It sensed Xandra’s plummet in it’s proximity, but the cave dweller was much too occupied with it’s own dilemma to care. Naturally it disliked her presence and would lick her blood from the pieces he made, but it was crucial to push. To focus it’s entirety to the act of liberating itself from the foreign item in it’s bowels. To rid itself of the sharp and oddly-shaped food that never digested. To shit out a harp. The majority of which was still inside, while a bloody muscus-covered shoulder with gold plating could be seen poking out. The area around it was swollen and discolored with infection (not that it was visible in the cavern’s darkness) , producing a rancid smell like no other. Clearly, the Wyvern was preoccupied as it had hardly reacted to the shower of spiders sent from the Huntress. Xandra’s exact location was easy to see, her trajectory not nearly as complex as a centipede bat’s. Under normal circumstances, it would have snapped its long tongue around her skull and devoured Xandra shortly after with ease. One gulp.

Instead the Wyvern growled low and steady; warning his uninvited meal to cease her approach. If one wasn’t clear headed, they would miss the weak sound behind the monster’s threat. By this time, Apex had made his way past the creature and stood safely on the other side to watch Xandra’s performance. He’d indulge just this once on a whim to scout out a possible future prize.
