-He is only twelve, and he is already ready to face the real world, at that age I was still playing with my friends in the city and I was training in the Raven's Claws martial arts... I heard of Hunters at that age, I wonder if this boy want to become hunter too- Kainen was impressed by Go Go determination and fredom at that age, Kainen began traveling at 16, and only recently he started the life of the wonderer. "Ahah, I look older isn't it? I'm 17 years old" Something strange happened after, a powerful gust of wind holded back everyone, nobody of the 3 had difficulty stay stood, and anyone fallen down. Furthermore Go Go grabbed Wren -Was he worried about her? She seems quite experienced too, maybe he did it only because she is a girl ehehe, I should have done it...- Kainen was laughing in his mind, the other could only see a smile on him. "Come on let's go, by the way Go Go, you don't need to be so formal with me, I consider respect differently, in my opinion it isn't a word that shows respect" "You know Go Go, I've mastered a martial arts that it is called Raven's Claws" then he raised up his left hand, the one which holds the gauntlet. "This gauntlet is the emblem of that martial arts, which is inspired by the ravens, I guess you have never heard it, isn't that true?" Kainen was explaining his thoughts "and you have raven wings, you should learn about it" Kainen didn't intented to force him in any way, but it's clear that he was imaging that boy after years, as a master of that martial arts, who more than he should be? But that was only a strange idea he made up on his mind, it was completelly unimportant. He only wanted to let know Go Go that his martial arts was inspired by ravens, and Go Go is for half a raven. The mountain was getting steeper, and the weather worsen, and Wren stopped. She took away her hat, letting her hair flapping free -Mhh... she is even better now...- but his mischievous thoughts (not something really strange for a young male) were interrupted by Wren herself, who gestured him to take the lead. -Is she mute but can she read minds?- "Well ok, I'm going forward, by the way it's difficult to lose me, my long bandana is very visible" |

As Go Go picked up his pace and jogged along, he listened with interest as Kainen shared about his martial art and metal hand. “Gauntlet” he repeated to himself softly. “Yes Kainen-sa— Kainen, I’ve never heard of this Raven’s Claw style! Will you show me some of your skills sometime maybe? I would really like to see!” Wren-san slowed a little and he strode briskly behind her up the steep slope. The air was colder already, but it felt nice on his flushed face. Go Go never would have guessed a fighting method would be based off of something like a raven. He never considered ravens and crows to be terribly intimidating. It was a little thrilling to imagine his flying cousins as fierce warriors in their own right. Perhaps he too would be fierce one day. And good of course. Fierce and good. The girl stopped to remove her hat and switch positions with Kainen. Go Go thought she was quite beautiful now that he saw more of her face and hair and noticed that Kainen thought so too by the way he looked at her. He wondered if they might have romance and kiss. That seemed to happen when boys found girls pretty. His stomach growled. Go Go pulled some jerky from his pocket and bit into it. He liked Kainen’s long bandana. He liked jerky. It was a beautiful day on the ugly mountain. Go Go lifted off and flew next to the teen boy. “Would you like some?” He held out some of his food and turned to smile at the silent girl bringing up the rear. “Wren-san, how about some jerky?” He noticed this air was different..lighter. He had to work a bit harder to keep himself hovering and decided to reserve his strength. As he resumed his hike behind Kainen, Go Go’s thoughts returned to Wren-san. Perhaps she might be more open than Kon had been..and change her mind about whatever it was that she had planned. Maybe he was worried over nothing at all.. maybe she meant something other than poaching when she had spoken of sweet rewards. He decided to learn more and put himself at ease. “Wren-san? Why do you want to …” he stopped and realized that she might ask the same thing of him..Go Go didn’t want to reveal his intentions and have a confrontation. Not now. Not on this steep and narrow climb. He changed his question. “What is it about the honey eagles that you find so rewarding?” He was a terrible liar..it was only a matter of time until he might have to make his intentions known. |

With Kainen taking the lead in their trek up the steep path, and Go Go following close behind him, Wren was left to take up the rear. Not that she possessed any objections to this order, after all, she had been to propose it. When a small ways onwards, Go Go began to snack upon jerky, Wren politely declined his offer to share, still not possessing much of an appetite of her own as a result of a hearty breakfast ingested that morning. As the climb continued, another factor beyond the deterioration of terrain she had previously noted began to make itself apparent to her, the thinning of the air. Not wanting to allow herself to tire too quickly, Wren took special effort to regulate her breathing in order to aptly compensate for the change. She noted that Go Go seemed to be suffering from the altercations in the air pressure as well, as he seemed to be exerting himself a bit harder in order to remain moving at the same pace. Might as well toughen up, it’s only going to get worse from here on out. The silence of the walk was interrupted by the abrupt stuttered question of Go Go. Someone seems to be a little stressed to me. Mildly irritated, Wren shifted her body as she continued to walk, so that she could pull her phone out. Shifting her eyes between the unlevel ground upon which she walked and the screen of her phone, Wren typed a reply to Go Go’s inquiry. Her annoyance was hardly Go Go’’s fault, and merely a consequence of the inconvenience offered by her reliance on a phone for communication. To avoid conveying any negative emotions that would risk giving the wrong impression, she maintained a light smile, erring on the side of a completely neutral expression. Concluding her brief response, Wren held up her phone for Go Go to observe, still meticulously analyzing the terrain before her to ensure she minimized the risk of falling due to her own inattentiveness. “Well, some may come for the challenge aspect… However, as far as I’m concerned, the most exquisite thing in existence is the pure taste of something sweet. Hence, I guess one could say I’ve come to pilfer a prize, so to speak.” Hoping such an answer would serve to sate the youth’s curiosity, Wren pocketed her phone. Unlike earlier however, she placed it in an easily accessible pocket in her coat, rather than in her bag as before, anticipating that she would soon find herself answered more questions. She felt somewhat remorseful for choosing favorites, however at the moment Wren had to admit that she preferred Kainen, simply for the merit that he seemed to be much more goal oriented, as well as content to continue the trek in a blissful quiet, though she was pretty sure he was deeply immersed in thoughts of his own. Not that she could blame him, after all, hikes and inhospitable terrain were prone to triggering moments of self reflection, Though to be honest, the only real thing Wren was contemplating was the delicious delicacies she hoped to reach the next day, and how she intended to go about achieving them. Growing distant, Wren’s attention lapsed slightly, though not enough so for her to risk falling from the path as a result of natural means, as her mind returned to the succulent sweetness that awaited... |

Kainen tooks the lead, and it seems that Go Go was just behind him, making Wren be the last one at the queue. The air was rarefied now, and everyone had difficulty to breath correctly. Meanwhile Go Go offered dried meat at both Kainen and Wren, "Oh! Thank you Go Go, I appreciate it" Kainen only took a piece of jerky not wanting to expires Go Go's food. After that, Go Go asked at Wren more precisely about her motivation of being here. So the group stopped, in order to saw the answer of Wren. She tooks some seconds in order to write her answer. Kainen didn't actually know what to think about that answer -She is a pretty strange girl...- he stopped a while, -Well a wonderer, a halfRaven, and a mute girl... What the hell are we? We are all strange-. By the way Kainen couldn't really understand what does really matter about this birds. He uses the moment to make a question himself. "Hey guys are we going in the right direction? Where are these eagles? And Go Go why are so important for you these birds? Wren talks about sweets things, and they are called honey eagles, do they produce honey?" He asked naively, because he didn't actually know anything about the honey eagles, furthermore he couldn't even realize what his new acquaintance had in mind. |

As soon as he read Wren-san’s admittance of her intention to steal something, Go Go gasped, managing to inhale a small bug in the process. He choked and coughed and only breathed freely just as Kainen had asked him about his own reason for the climb. Go Go froze. He hadn’t expected the martial artist to expose him. Luckily the man had asked several questions and he chose to respond to the ones he thought might steer the conversation in a safe direction or so he hoped. “I think their eggs taste very good, and that’s why they are called that.. Wren-san, we’re still going in a good direction right?” His mind was in a panic. She was a poacher.. this nice girl.. he had to stop her. Go Go dreaded it. He didn’t want to let her continue climbing this dangerous mountain only to be turned away at it’s top, yet the path they were currently on was too dangerous to risk a confrontation now. He wondered about how he might convince her to set aside her desires without any conflict. He didn’t want to trick her like he had done to those who had been hunting down the albatrosses. Oh why did she have to be a poacher? He squared up his shoulders. Enough. He’d talk to her when they reached safer spot and everything would go smoothly. The air was cold, and misty. He shivered and found no comfort. Edited by Gon.Pro.Hunter, May 30 2015, 02:35 PM.

Hmph, I can’t believe they both doubt the path already. Welp, since we’re stopped anyway, may as well explain. Her fingers a blur, Wren entered what she hoped would be a satisfactory answer into her phone. She also made sure to include a few minor details she felt would help move them along, after all, she was not in the mood for dalliance. Concluding her rapid flurry of fingers with a flourish, she held out her phone, ensuring that both Go Go and Kainen would be able to observe what she had written clearly. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a move on after this, it’s best we get there in time, I don’t want to make camp on a pitch black mountainside. “Don’t worry about the direction, as long as we keep going on the path which we’re on at the present moment, we should arrive at a safe location to camp out for tonight by nightfall. From there, we ought to be able to reach the peak-where the eagles are- and get back down by nightfall tomorrow. So don’t worry too much about direction, we should make time so long as we stick to this trail. But we’d best make haste if we wish to make the trek in time.” Placing her phone back to where she had withdrawn it, Wren prepared to reconvene their travel. Just as she had concluded closing her pocket, Wren heard a distant rumbling originating from higher up on the mountain. Suddenly, the rumbling grew dramatically in volume, and even the ground began to shake slightly. Looking up the steep mountain face in alarm, Wren could make at a plethora of pebbles, stones, and even boulders tumbling downwards towards them at a high velocity. It seemed the sudden rock slide stretched for several meters both in front of and behind their group, and varied in debris density from what could be considered a light spray, to rocks potent enough to crush your average car. Well this is just peachy, just what this hike needed. Time to have some fun. Some would be annoyed or even scared by the sudden arrival of a destructive force of nature. However, for Wren, it was simply another challenge for her to overcome in pursuit of sweetness. So long as it didn’t bring about a delay in her schedule. In a single fluid motion, Wren plucked her Brass Knuckles from her pockets, placing them each in their positions on her hands, just in case she ended up having to deflect incoming objects using force. As the first of the stone storm hit, Wren ducked back against the mountainside, dodging an immense boulder. Wren ducked to the side as more rocks fell past where she’d been standing on her left. Keeping her eyes turned upwards, Wren caught sight of another mid sized rock plummeting towards her head. Aware that dodging at this point could cause her to lose her balance, Wren launched a left punch upwards, applying shu to her brass knuckle as well as using gyo to strengthen her left arm. Faced with Wren’s combined nen and might, the half meter wide stone shattered. Continuing to evade the continuing onslaught, Wren diverted a slight amount of her attention to her companions. I hope they’re holding up decently… |

Go Go didn't answered completelly at Kainen, but Kainen noticed a sudden change in Go Go behaviour, he looked like stressed. Perhaps Kainen sudenly lost his interest for the eagles, now he wanted to know in what the other two wanted from the eagles. Meanwhile Wren showed her answer, who was saying that there wasn't any need to worry about the direction. But by the way Kainen was still thinking about the situation. -Go Go still hasn't spoke about his objective, maybe because it is in contrast with Wren's objective...- But his thoughts were suddenly interrupted from the onslaught of a huge group of boulders, which were falling toward them. "What the... Hurry Go Go you should take flight" Kainen knew that Wren could use her Nen, so he wasn't much worried about her, and neither for himself, indeed he was already preparing Shuu and Gyo on his left arm. The boulders he couldn't dodge were cutten down by the gauntlet, he wasn't trying to move further, every time a boulder was rolling towards him, he simply stood waiting for the moment to attack or dodge. He could saw Wren in the caotic mess caused by the falling boulders, as he expected she was prepared to face this danger, she was really fast and agile, much more than Kainen, and she was also really strong. With her skills this must have been a joke for her, Kainen was instead founding difficult not to die against these rocks, his movement were fast enough for dodging at the right instant, an error could have been really dangerous. Shortly after reading Wren-san's assurance that they were still on the right path Go Go heard the movement. It was big and powerful..coming quickly. He lost a little color as he turned; his sharp eyes detecting the enormous boulders as well as the rest of it. Kainen's command snapped him out of it and the boy rose up as quickly as his wings would permit in the thin mountain air. Go Go watched in horror as his companions dealt with the deadly onslaught of rocks. He struggled to remain airborne and kicked his feet uselessly to maintain his height. A rock the size of a bowling ball bounced up and struck his shoulder; stunning him and causing the boy to descend. Go Go collided with another small sharp stone, and another. He struggled to avoid the landslide, but his wings were completely exhausted and ineffective at that point. He landed clumsily and took shelter by pressing himself against the mountain as much as he could. Blood trickled down from a cut on his forehead and Go Go felt helpless. Large rocks were coming. They were going to crush him. He had no choice. The boy dove off the edge. He spread his wings to slow his fall and felt stones pelt down on him from above. Go Go glided further away from the mountain to avoid the landslide and it's debris, but this was a great loss.. now he would have much further to climb to catch up. |
