Geanna once again found herself wanting to cry. A series of misfortunes had befallen her ever since she had that run-in with some bandits at the Birugai Desert. She thought that if she investigated it, it might lead to finding out something with regards to the people who attacked her mother’s village. That ended with not so much as a rumor to either of her goals. Not only that but the ship she boarded to Seoulja was hit by a storm at sea. The next thing she knew, she was stuck on a lonely life boat drifting in the middle of the sea. The next day, she and her little boat was washed ashore. The island looked virgin and inhabited. Not a trace of human intervention could be found. The small animals she encountered were not afraid of her and therefore told of their inexperience with humanity. Geanna decided it was counterproductive to just stay there and so she followed the seaside till she found a river. Civilizations always flourished by the river, her teacher once taught in school. So its sound reasoning that by following this river, she will eventually come across perhaps a village or maybe even a town. That is if the island was not completely uninhabited. Luck pointed towards that plan and so that is what she did. “Looks like I’ll be camping for the night if I don’t find a village soon.” She commented to herself as she looked up to see the blue sky slowly turning purple. It was already very nearly night when she heard the sound of water being unnaturally displaced. She looked behind her to see a man dressed in clothes that were quite unusual for this day and age. It was extremely plain and devoid of design and was made with fabric that was crudely spun and dyed. He was atop a wooden raft headed in her direction. “Oh thank the stars!” she uttered under her breath in sheer relief. She immediately flagged down the stranger in hopes that she could hitch a ride to at least the nearest village where she could stay for the night. She knew the man had seen her because in that moment, he hastened his progress towards her. “You shouldn't be here” was the first thing that the man said to her as soon as she was nearly adjacent to the bank she was standing on. “You should go home right now before—“ The man’s words were cut short as the sound of laughter echoing through the trees reached their ears. It sounded like the laughter of little children but somehow you know that this wasn't normal. It contained an otherworldly quality that makes all the hairs on your body stand on end. The man was visibly shaken. He was quickly looking around, his muscles tensed as if some sort of attack was upon them. Before Geanna was able to process what was going on, she was suddenly being hauled unto the raft, given a pole of her own and was barked orders to push as hard and as fast as possible. The raft floated through the water as fast as it would go. “You just condemned yourself, you know that.” She heard the man say amidst the wind and their effort. “But even if I left you there, you’re going to be dead anyway.” “What do you mean? What’s going on?” was all Geanna could think of. “You’ll know what I mean when we get there. “Who are you?” she questioned again hoping to find some sort of comfort in at least knowing that but the stranger never replied signaling the end of their conversation. A quarter of an hour later, they arrived at a small village. The houses were nothing but hovels made of clay and wood. In the center of the settlement, was a gathering area. A fire was lit there where people gathered for the communal meal. But upon the sound of their arrival, the small crowd that was there spread out and ran to their respective houses to hide. They came to a halt outside a building only slightly bigger and grander than the rest. The stranger dismounted and walked inside. Not knowing what to do, Geanna slid off the horse and followed. Inside were rows of pallets laid side by side and on every mat was a villager of every age and gender. This would have been a very normal scene for a village healer hut if not for the patients themselves. They were in varying states of what looked to Geanna was petrification. She gasped. Her eyes widened taking in the sight. Her medical knowledge may be little but she knows enough that this was no ordinary sickness. “Soon, you’ll end up like them too. Just like the rest of us.” said the man with finality as he ducked down to touch the petrified hand of a little boy. Edited by margrae, Apr 24 2015, 03:07 AM.

Svaltáfar, Mizaki remembered as he exited the jeep after handing the driver a small roll of thousand jenni banknotes; he had switched the syllabe's position as he attemped to recall the mythical creatures' name, yet he was this time sure he had ordered them correctly, Mizaki walked a few steps at NGL's border, observing the enormous tree standing ahead of him. News, whose acessibility for those who did not own a Hunter's License was limited, regarding a disease spreading through Neo Green Life's natural reserve which was said to petrify whom was by it inffected and was associated with the mithological dark dwarves, whom, accordingly to legend, were told to possess the power to turn their adversaries to stone, similiarly to the Medusa. Upon entering in contact with these reports, Mizaki had emailed Wintrow files containing all the information he'd gathered, and both agreed to meet at NGL's border, yet entering the reserve in order to avoid wasting precious time. Eventually, after many, in spite of being accelarated by his ownership of a Hunter's License, lenghty procedures, his entrance was authorized, as he was forced to, even though he had researched the current regulations, leave a few items behind. It appeared he had been able to arrive earlier than Wintrow, whom was in a different location at the time of his departure. After signing a large number of forms, he found himself within the sparsely populated natural reserve incorporated in the Mitene Federation, confortably sat on the grass and started the reports he hadn't yet analyzing or which he had only read diagonally, whilst waiting for Wintrow, to further investigate the mysterious disease - he conjectured that nen, and possibly a group of or one individual nen user was responsible for the development and spread of this sickness, which appeared to, according to what he'd read, be transmitted similiarly to a virus. Nonetheless, the Mitene Federation, as its cooperation with other nations was close to inexistent, possibly the worst place for any endemic disease to originate, he concluded, and thus they should start studying as soon as it was possible, to avoid it to become a crisis with which it would be difficult to cope with and which could surely propagate to other nations. |

NGL. Aiza slowly traversed the wilderness, writing down notes in his journal. Whilst Aiza had most definitely traveled through all the other nations in the Mitene federation, he'd never actually found himself in Neo Green Life. It was strange really, considering the fact that he was quite the nature lover. Returning from Arizu Isle to the mainland and with no bounties to work on, he had no excuse not to visit the place. Typically of Aiza however, it wasn't long before he caught wind of some rather disturbing rumours. Rumours of people found dead in the wilds. Not a particularly odd occurrence in such a wild area, the wilderness was a dangerous place after all. However, what intrigued Aiza was the fact that all of the victims were found in static positions, rendered hard as rock. Needless to say this intrigued Aiza, so he researched into the situation as much as possible before heading to the village where this was all supposedly unfolding. Nobody was entirely sure as to what the cause of this illness was, but there were a few theories floating around. One of which was that the petrification was caused by some sort of plant where the villagers gathered food. A simple enough explanation, but it didn't explain the uniform marks where the petrification begins. The second was that it was some sort of animal. Again, plausible, but surely such a creature would have been seen by now. But there have been no signs of any foreign creatures. Another theory, pitched to Aiza by another hunter he'd met, was that a nefarious nen-user was lurking somewhere. It wasn't a completely alien idea that a murderer would have developed some sort of hatsu capable of doing such a thing. The final theory was a little more far fetched, naming mystical creatures as the culprits. Though odd, Aiza wasn't keen on dismissing myths and legends. Oftentimes, they turned out to be based in fact... All that they knew for sure was that the petrification was slow, painful. People would often return to their village with strange marks on their body, after which they would slowly petrify, starting from the markings and gradually throughout the rest of their bodies. After procuring a horse from a friendly stable owner, in exchange for a couple of game birds he'd shot down nearby, Aiza briskly rode towards the village in question. The moment it came into view, he could see that the place was dreary. A place clearly stricken with grief. Some of the people shuffled around slowly, as though they had just given up on life. The beautiful sunset was wasted on the place. They emanated sadness. Aiza reigned in his horse, bringing it to a stop besides a young man. "Excuse me sir!" The man turned and looked at him. There were huge bags under his eyes. "Yes... can i help you?" Aiza smiled and dismounted. "I'm a hunter. I'm here about the stone disease?" Aiza made a name up on the spot. He'd heard a plethora of different names for the disease up to this point. The man shuddered in response. Aiza furrowed his brow watching him, he looked like he was going to be sick. "Follow me..." He uttered feebly, gesturing in the direction of a small building. "Evening." Aiza casually strolled inside the healing hut and greeted those inside. "My name is Aiza Arizu. I'm a hunter, i'm here to help." Edited by Flash, Mar 25 2015, 08:25 AM.

Rain poured down on the deck as the boat swayed across the water Aj sat in the captains courtiers awaiting his mother to return looking down below he saw as a women was hit and left unconscious as she flew off of the boat. "Jr." said Charles as he slammed his way into the room sounding as though he had just lost his daughter "your mother and Father are M.I.A. come with me ill take you to safety" Aj hesitated but did as he was told since this was his fathers assistant. "I dont recommend that this is the safest" the captain warned but the man had already had a firm grip of Aj's arm and was headed out the door and Aj couldn't make out the rest of the sentence. "listen close im sure you know of all the secrets of this world" the man screamed to be heard over the thunder as they ran out into the rain "with that said I can create any vehicle i can think of it comes in handy at times like this" with that he jumped over the side of the boat bear hugging Aj as they soared threw he air. They landed on a motor boat the rain seemed to stop though it was still pouring "Where are we going" Aj questioned "Theirs a island close by we are headed in that direction" Charles Answered as they cruised along arriving at the shore within an hour. It was dark so Aj couldn't make out his surrounding though he knew it wasn't like the city he was use too far from it, the boat disappeared as they reached the land and they were greeted by two others "Where's the boss" Charles demanded he was greeted with no response "fuck!" he screamed "How did you lose them they are top priority". "that doesn't matter now lets get jr. some shelter we located a village near by they seem to be friendly, its our best bet" said one of the man "Alright lead the way" Charles said. As they headed to the village they were still being rained on pretty badly Aj's hair began to cover his eyes so he constantly had to move it out the way, the group stopped suddenly as they where surrounded by a bunch of kids who looked unearthly. A pointy ear'd man entered the circle he spoke in a differently language that Aj could not make out once the man left the kid's attacked Charles drug aj along as the two other fought off the savage children. Couple minutes later one of the man caught up "He's dead they killed Jacob He's dead" he said frantically "wheres the village" Charles said not skipping a beat "Its straight ahead but we won't make it" "why not" charles demanded "because i couldn't hold them off their on our asses now any second they'll catch" the man suddenly stopped speaking looking back Aj saw as the man was dragged away in the rain he seemed to be screaming for help but even with him this close he couldn't be heard over the thunder. They reached the village, soaked but safe, the village seemed empty "Listen Head to the church their and rest child we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow don't come out until morning ok" the look on Charles face told Aj that he wasn't going to see the man tomorrow nor the next day he had seen the face of death too many times before "ok" was all he could say turning to the church, when he reached the inside he closed the door behind him. Shivering Aj fell into a long slumber he dream't of nothing, wet and alone. Aj awoke in the room with a child around mid day, the Boy seemed to be taking care of him "you finally wake up i thought you where dead but you kept breathing so yea" the boy said "wheres Charles" Aj questioned "who" "charles" aj said getting a blank expression from the boy "never mind that here put on these clothes on yours are all wet i put them out to dry". Aj put on the clothes he was given and spent the day waiting, staying with the boy for entertainment he seemed to talk to no end. The boy showed him around the village, to the river they got water from, and he also told him about the plunge; about how majority of the people in his village had fallen sick saying the elders say its only a matter of time before the rest of the village is in the same condition. It came to a point where the child's talking began to irritate Aj who decided it would be best if he gotten some fresh air by himself so when the boy was occupied with one of the elders in the village Aj dipped off to the river and hoped on one of the canoes. Following the river he was meet by the ocean he continued to follow the coast until he came across a women who seemed to be lost. “You shouldn’t be here” Aj commented remembering his arrival to the island “You should go home right now before—“ was all he could get out before crys of laughter filled the air, the same as the night before the demons he had barely fought off were at it again. Yet again i take the role of the hero “You just condemned yourself, you know that. But even if I left you there, you’re going to be dead anyway.". Aj took out his phone seeing that his mother and father had tried to get in touch with him though he knew he couldn't do anything his phone had been water damaged on the boat. The women didn't seem too scared or concerned as she questioned him so Aj simply responded “You’ll know what I mean when we get there." he was a little out of character but who wouldn't be after just being separated from the two beings who brought him into this world. They arrived back at the village that had taken Aj in as they headed into a building currently being used as the nursing home he heard the women gasp and saw as her eyes widened “Soon, you’ll end up like them too. Just like the rest of us.” he said remembering his fallen brothers that gave way to his safety. Reaching down he touched the hand of a little boy when he first arrived he remembered the boy to be full of life, radiate even but now this boy about the same age as himself was sick to no end time only knew how much longer he could take it before he turned What happened when i left was all Aj had on his mind. " What do you feel about this?" A colleague of his handed him a recently released case. Wintrow picked the paper while sipping a bit of cofee. Wintrow was the few of his colleagues that had kept the white coat on a plastic bag whenthey had finished the shift. He was tired, as he tried to puzzle out the words he started " Case report of NGL refugee and post mortem examination" HIs head pounded but he made the effort to keep reading it diagonally. " Wintrow, the chief cals you" Another voice called. HIs colleague made a mischevious smile " Someone is in trouble ha" Wintrow had long lost his sense of self mocking, with continuous work before, and frowned at the joke. He rapidly grabed his backpack and paced fastly to the office. "Two corridors to the left, the third door" He remembered after walking back from the snack bar to the hospital. Knocking on the door, which was already a bit open. " Ah, Wintrow Belleren here, may I come in Doctor?" " Yes, come in, come in" He sat on a chair and signaled for Wintrow to sit in frot of him. The desk had a pile of paper, a pen, and a computer's screen. He quickly glimpsed report Wintrow had brough" Oh, aren't you informed?" " He managed a smile, he still haven't read the report. " So, here's the deal, we haven't sent any begginer hunter yet to NGL, you know they didn't have the best relationship with doctors" The chief explained. " Yes,, of course" " So, here's the deal, i'm going to send you there" " I'll do my best" He quikly answered as he accepted the pile of paper," you leave tomorrow, in the morning. " " Thank you, with your excuse" Wintrow hurried to leave. He left making his best effort not to drop everything. After explaining what had happened, he sent goodbyes and went straigh home. " Ah, another field work, and it is something big, fun" Wintrow made sure to print everything he wanted to bring, technology wasn't still allowed there. He checked for emails and noticed " Oh, mizaki sent somthing" The doctor gave a good laugh, he gladly ran into him since he became a hunter" I guess we are in the same page", and printed what MIzaki had sent out. The time left had been spent planning and researching. A compilation of reviews around the theme, images, histology and clinical presentations were what he had focused on. Then on materials, he was going to bring only the first aid, without drugs. Hesitating in the begging, he accepted he'd have to do with low resources. Quiet night when the plane ascended the skys, that moment of twillight just before dawn. The anxious silence was slashed by the cutting wings, turbine sounds, and genreal buzz, HE glanced to the window, lost his gaze to his mind, overflowing with theories about this desease, he'd have to add everything to one single document when he found time. " Meeting MIzaki is the priority" There was no sight that inte rhuman exposure would result in symptoms, but a strong correlation between marking and "petrification" had been made. " It does not look like from infectious agent, there is no inflamation associated, and the only people we could get our hands of were already in the brick of colapsing" What he had learnt was disrtubing, they could not stain it properly to know what had changed. Immersed in worries he dozed off, waking up in the middle of the flight. "Back to sleep" He tried and shut his eyes of, darkess was welcomed, but he'd not get it. The plane landed, he had to meet someone whou would take him to the frontier. Small talk was amusing him, took every document he needed to show. As he passed the frontiers, he met two kinds of aproach: a scared/worried face that actually pushed him into the reserve and another with hesitation and distrut he was expecting. " Just let him go, many kids died, what if it had been yours?" Wintrow tried to mantain a serious but nice face, his eyes widened with this coment. The other guard was almost jumping on the first, when an older man got between them, the tension remained in the air. " Sorry, rough times here for John, there's someone waiting for you there, welcome " Wintrow smiled and hurried to meet Mizaki. Steping on a wavering grass, he recognized the back of his cousin, focused as always. " Heyyy, Mizakii" He steped in and hugged his little cousin. " Well, this can be embarassing but he always will be the little cousin to me" He tried to mess up with MIzaki "What? Someone you don't want to show that family you are embarassed off" He grinned as he acted to search the empty surroundings. " Ah, how are you?" |

Geanna stood aghast at beholding the roomful of petrified people. They were in differing stages of petrification. The ones closest to them had petrified extremities; arms and/or legs solidified and unmovable, while the ones further in had almost their entire bodies solidified. These were the most gruesome cases. Most often, their necks and faces were twisted and stuck in place making feeding them almost impossible. Breathing was also a chore at this advanced stage. Even in the dim light, Geanna could see the exertion the patients had to make in order to keep pumping air into their lungs to keep themselves alive. “Once that chest and those mouths solidify, it’s all over for them, poor things. No one deserves this.” she thought to herself. She turned her eyes back on the boy in front of her. “To just lie there knowing that death draws near, creeping ever closer every breath you take, is just unbearable.” She too extended her own hand to touch the boy. “Yet you do not shed a tear.” Out of respect for the boy, she held back her own tears. “What happened to them?” she inquired of the man holding the boy’s hand. “Svartalfar” replied a woman sitting by the side of an old man with a body also in the midst of total petrification. “—the dark children. They have been angered and have sent this as punishment.” She continued in between spooning some food into the man’s mouth. He was probably her husband. “What is a svartalfar?” she asked. “The svartalfar are the great beings of the other world. They use the forest that surrounds us as a portal to their realm.” she answered, pain evident in her eyes. “They come into our world to gather materials that they need for their great forges.”, she continued, wiping away some food that spilled from her husband’s mouth. “ A long time ago, this village used to pan gold from the river. It is offered at a shrine dedicated to them in the forest.”, She retold, this time with sadness. “However, a few years ago, monsters attacked our village killing or taking away most of our people. After that, we didn't have people to spare from the work needed to rebuild the village. Every able hand labored in the planting of crops and repairing our houses as best we could. Many of our things also needed to be replaced.”, she explained, glancing at Geanna for a sign of sympathy. “We thought that the great ones would understand but instead—“, she trailed off, erupting in sobs. Svartalfar? A figure of myth responsible for this? Geanna didn’t buy it. There had to be a better explanation than greedy angry gods out to punish unfaithful followers. Yet, she herself had witnessed some pretty strange phenomena that afternoon. No animal she had ever read about could do this kind of thing. Neither did they laugh like little children. Geanna maybe an outsider but she wasn’t the type of person who would abandon a whole village. This made her remember her own mother’s village. If she had been there that day of the second attack, could she have made a difference? –useless thoughts. What’s done is done. Right now, she had the power to help and help she shall even if she had to do something about this herself. It was obvious the people in the place were resigned to their fate. Geanna got up and was about to turn to march out the door when someone grabbed her arm. It was the man who had picked her up by the river. “Don’t.” he simply said. “It grows dark. The Svartalfar prowls the forest at night.”, the old woman explained. Before Geanna could reply, the door bursts open and a commanding figure of a man enters. "Evening.", the man greeted. "My name is Aiza Arizu. I'm a hunter, I'm here to help." Edited by margrae, Apr 23 2015, 10:36 PM.

"Of course not, you know that" he answered, with a genuine smile "Fine. We should start looking for any cases of the disease - since I had no idea what safety equipment was required in case the sickness is infectious (not sure whether is airborne or vector-borne, but those two hypothesis were recurring and regarded as plausible in a few of the articles I read), I only brought a few random pieces of gear" Mizaki added afterwards "But, well, you are the expert on that matter - most of it won't probably be useful but if it is, I won't regret carrying it. Regarding the local population's belief that the ilness was caused by mythological creatures - dark dwarves whom are said to possess the capability of petrifying their opponents or, depending on the reports, massacre humans merely by glacing at them, it's, in my opinion, quite likely this has a certain relation to nen - once again, you definitely are more knowledgeable about nen-fueled diseases than me, but I'd say it's conceivable that one or more nen users are responsible for the spreading of the sickness, which, thus, may not behave similarly to any known one" he continued, following Wintrow, who seemed to be analyzing the terrain to deduce the most probable location of a human settlement as they walked at a steady pace. After several minutes of walking, Wintrow abruptly stopped and told Mizaki he'd spotted what appeared to be a village north of their current location; they, thus, started walking towards it and concluded as they approached it that it was, in fact, a community of small farms, a frequent landscape within Neo Green Life, looking rather normal. Or so it seemed. Mizaki and Wintrow were twenty metres from the nearest farm and spotted no signs of human life - a few animals interrupted the otherwise silent scenery, yet no voices or any other sound was heard. It seems we found it, Mizaki muttered quietly; the statement was met by a nod by Wintrow - he was merely speculating, yet he was to some extent confident they had been lucky. Or perhaps not, he considered; as they entered the farmhouse, whose wooden door Wintrow punched, reducing it to shreds, after obtaining no reply to a is anyone here? question, he concluded that they were definitely luckier than if they were to undergo the same fate as the victims of the disease they sought to research. Mizaki immediatly reached for his backpack and removed a number of basic assorted items Wintrow could need as he dashed to examine the petrified bodies of a middle-aged man and a seemingly slightly younger woman as well as an infant, who appeared to be no more than three or four years old, which even he, not possessing any medical training, could conclude to be dead. "Whilst you examine them, I'll go look for any signs of somedoby who's still breathing and who may provide us information concering the nature of the sickness" he told him, sprinting towards the nearby farms - he found eleven farmhouses, of varying sizes, in the nearby area and methodically approached each one of them and throughly searched it. Mizaki counted thirty-seven petrified bodies, sixteen male, eighteen female, three newborns, twelve of whom he'd consider to be kids and fourteen as teenagers in the first seven alone; as he entered the eighth, he abruptly stopped as he heard someone coughing violently - he cautiously approached the source of the clamor, wielding his nunchaku and ready to engage in combat, if necessary - he deemed it likely was not as he observed the weeping old man. Sympathetically, yet cautiously, Mizaki approached him, offering him an handkerchief he had in his pocket, wondering why the had elderly man survived the disease due to which so many apparently healthy had succumbed. "Please tell me what has happened; my name is Mizaki, my intention here is only to help you - I am a hunter" he warmly requested "If you can walk, please come with me; if not I'll carry you to a doctor who's close by. Is there anyone one else alive here?" he asked; a faint No and the man shaking the head twice convinced Mizaki he was not a threat, eliminating any suspicions he possessed. Carrying the man on his shoulders revealed itself easier than what he'd expected and within a few minutes, he was able to return to the farmhouse where Wintrow was still examining the petrified corpses. |

Aiza's eyes widened with curiosity. To most it would have been a very disturbing scene. Everyone in the room looked terrified, those that were petrified even moreso than the rest. "So this is the power of the disease..." As Aiza moved in he began to dart around the place, analyzing each and every body he passed like a curious child. He stopped at one. They appeared to have completely frozen, their eyes staring at him in fear. He knelt down to get a closer look. Aiza waved his hand in front of them. Nothing. All of a sudden, Aiza noticed something. Their eyebrows suddenly began moving. Alive. Taken aback, Aiza flinched slightly. All he could do was watch until their movement became gradually stiffer, eventually coming to a complete stop. He stood and straightened out his jacket. "Well, this is a nasty situation you've found yourself in eh?" He sighed and sat beside the frozen man. "Who's in charge here? When did this all begin?" Whilst he continued to walk around, observing the disease in effect, the elder turned to Aiza and gave him a similar explanation as he had done the girl before. Aiza folded his arms and scratched his chin. "Hmm, what an odd situation. Whatever this is, it's clearly a nasty " He paced a little before turning back to the others in the hut. "Whilst i'm pretty skeptical about these 'Svartalfar' creatures, as you describe them, perhaps the mythology is grounded in some level of reality." Aiza furrowed his brow and leaned against the wall. "However, judging by what you said, it is quite possible that we're dealing with magical beasts here. They can be nasty little bastards after all." Aiza looked to the girl he'd seen trying to force her way out of the room. "If these so called 'Svartalfar' are real then I wouldn't be rushing out there on my own, if i were you." Aiza smiled and chuckled lightly. "So let's calm it down. I can't allow you to go out their on your own. However, if you insist on investigating... I guess you could accompany me." Aiza opened the door slightly and turned to exit. "I guess we better not waste any more time. People are dying after all. I hope you're stronger than you look." He laughed. Whilst Aiza had definitely met some more than competent children, he was a little apprehensive about letting the girl out on her own. She seemed way in over her head. If the rumours of mythological creatures were even remotely true, she'd be in for a nasty surprise. Aiza often found that a brotherly instinct tended to kick in, due to being so protective of his own sister. The fact that he was slightly worried himself about heading into the forest didn't help either. He was sure that he could deal with whatever came at him, if there was anything out there at all. "So, what do you say we look into this mess?" |

" Dark dwarves?" Wintrow laughed. " it's, in my opinion, quite likely this has a certain relation to nen - once again, you definitely are more knowledgeable about nen-fueled diseases than me, but I'd say it's conceivable that one or more nen users are responsible for the spreading of the sickness, which, thus, may not behave similarly to any known one" Mizaki continued. " Nen users going by dark dwarves?" Wintrow looked above to the dry blue sky, trying to picture it. " Well, if there are nen users doing this they should have sent anti terrorist group or somehting alike, right?" The doctor continued thinking out loud. " This is a relativelly new case, there hasn't been many information around it, the only thing described so far was the progression in symptoms" He then looked to his cousin" The scary part is that every attemp in the histology of the "petrified tissue" failed" He paused. " Which may implie that they were turned into actual stone" He frowned in disbelief, raising his eyebrows and twicing the corner of his mouth. " This "petrification" wintrow aded the slight movent opening and closing his second and third fingers, obviously implying he disbelief this legends " had a centripete growth going into the markings, the majority of them were located on the neck." Wintrow shook his head " Another author said that it firstly paralyzed with rigor and only afterwards it acquired its consistence, it moved from the surface to the deep organs. I mean, first hands, arms and only after torso. Quite a horrible way to die, if you ask me" Wintrow sighted " Oh well, we will find out" Remembering Mizaki's concern on which equipment to bring, and how to regard people who were afflicted. " Up until now, none of the health professional that have been in contact reported anything alike, places were isolate, but thanks to ngl's difficulty of acess, if it is an epidemy, it'll be well restricted." He patted on the MIzaki's cousin " We will be fine!" Wintrow and Mizaki fell silent for a moment. Trees walled their way, not very tall, but dense as forest as could be. " So we should move the closest community" He wondered " Rivers and rails will lead to the settlement. Now, where should it be?" Wintrow directed their walk towards highter ground, and where the tree were not so closelly packed. Plains transformed in hills, wind blew stronger. A small river branch, Wintrow followed it up, brighter the dirth and path, but still noone in the sight. Long minutes passed until both of them reached open plains, Wintrow glimpsed the open ground, he paused and pointed "There" " But there is no guarantee it has striken this far, but certainly there will be leads" " Just the usual farm" Wintrow declared as they paced towars the farm. Three cows moved to greet them " Hello" Wintrow replied as he patted its nose, Mizaki smirked to Wintro's discontraction. " They are well fed, but poop is pillling up," He knew he didn't have to say it plainly to be understood by his cousin. Barks could be herad from somehwere close, WIntrow turned his head and moved to a wooden house. There were three of them, snarling and barking to the door, their paws trying to push the door open. Ane xchange of looks was all it was necessary, Wintrow introduced loudly " Hellooo! Anyone there?" Wintrow kocnked, the dogs furiously now barked at Wintrow and scracthed his cloack. " MIzaki" He moved to the side, and Wintrow struck and compact punch at the door knob, it was locked. " I exagerated" The door was broken in two, as they stepped in, the dogs followed. Wintrow did not flinch and runned to the family. " Impressive" " I did not know it was like this" Wintrow admited, " No chest movement, no reflex to sound, no corneal reflex" Wintrow unsheated his dagger, and cut gently in the mother forearms " No pain," He examined closer, wintrow could not find the reflexive contraction and inflamation " Even with the daggers it feels im slashing rock" Wintrow repeated to them again, " No pulse, no air flow" THe infant particularly bothered him. Wintrow was wearing gloves but thanked MIzaki's equipment. from the stop and run he heard from his partner, Wintrow could deduce many more were to come. Wintrow took out the notebook and started to write today's entry. |

The women he entered with seemed to be on the verge of walking out Aj reached out and grabbed her arm “Don’t.” was all he could say as he stared at his buddy who was stone from the neck up, all else didn't really matter it was like Aj and the boy was in the room alone. Once the boys heart stopped beating Aj let go of the boys hand and looked on with tears pouring from his eyes. First he lost his parents, then his mentors, now this the one child in the village that wasn't crazy had now died right before him it was too much. "Hmm, what an odd situation. Whatever this is, it's clearly a nasty " a man said snapping him back into reality, who was he and when he got their was highly questionable for Aj at least, who had completely ignored his existence up till now. The man seemed insightful, he had already gotten Aj's full respect with his analysis of what was happening, further more Aj could tell that the man came from a family with riches like himself its like they say it takes on to know one. "I guess we better not waste any more time. People are dying after all. I hope you're stronger than you look." the man said opening the door "I'll come too no point of me staying here any longer, well if that's ok with you guy's" he said not taking no for a answer as he walked out the door wiping his tears. "I am defiantly stronger then i look" Voiced Aj as he stepped outside, it was now dark and the moon illuminated their surroundings the village was a ghost town all the villagers where in their huts or in the place the three had just left the night was still young and those little demons where still out there yet Aj was not fearful, all of this excited him to the point he couldn't hide it the demon inside him showed its face as a sinister aura over took him Come out come out were ever you are Aj Thought.
