× General Information
Name: Frigend Leght Gender: Male Age: 14 Height: 1.63m / 5'4'' Weight: 58kg / 128lb. Species: Human Appearance: The scar is the first thing everyone sees. Not his sad brown eyes, nor the thin purplish bags under them. Not his small but pointy nose. The skinless scar, with its spiked edges and trident-like shape, is the first thing everyone sees. The day he learned what a mirror was (and actually got his hands on one), Frig decided that the scar needed to go. He opted for letting his dark brown hair run wild. Time took its course. Though his scar is still plainly visible, Frig didn't mind the new look he'd acquired. His hair grew upwards and at different paces in certain areas, almost giving it the appearance of a misshaped crown of horns. The only section he had attempted to control was the right front. As a habit, he continuously finds himself pushing that area downwards. Hiding the inescapable. On a warm day, or a chilly one (basically, all the time), Frig will be seen wearing his regular long-sleeved white shirt, square-patterned green vest and light brown pants. These hold no special meaning for him, though. The object most precious to Frig is his crimson silk scarf. Since the scarf belonged to someone with a far bigger neck than not-so-muscular Frig, he prefers to use it around his waist.

Profession: Grade 5 Hunter Applicant, Petty Thief (member of minor gang) Reputation: 0 (Rank H)
Background
Birthday: August 02 Personality: Frig has told himself, time and again, that the scar is but a fleeting memory, a souvenir of a place he'll never go back to; yet deep inside, he's well aware this is not true. The scar reflects his true nature in more than one way. Frig understands punishment is blind to justice. Because of this, he has trained hard to sharpen his senses. If punishment must be inflicted, no one better to guide it than a person with eyes and ears wide open. Frig has grown to become a very perceptive kid. He never makes rushed decisions, but rather prefers to take a moment or two to meditate over his options. In combat, his judgement can come in handy. However, this trait of his can sometimes escape his grasp, making him too doubtful (when faced with extremely complex situations) or too suspicious (when meeting new people). Due to his background, Frig firmly believes all land is lawless; its inhabitants, survivors. Justice is flexible and those who don't have the brains to wield it or avoid it must suffer the consequences. Because of this, he has trained (or rather being trained/punished) hard to endure many forms of pressure, physical or psychological, through imaginary mental barriers that safeguard him and allow him the necessary time to focus on a plan instead of the pain. He tends to hide his true personality within this fictional cocoon. To most everyone, he presents a facade, the mask of a child looking for the fun he didn't have for the past 13 years.
Origin: -Project ZERO Frigend Leght was born as Subject #02. The project he was a part of had harvested him, along with eleven others. The point in common between the eleven subjects was Subject ZERO, the original. The goal of the project was to send every single subject (with exception of ZERO) to a location created from Nen by powerful Nen-users willing (or extensively paid) to participate in the project. Once there, the subjects would be "unpacked" fom their bio-craddles and left to the care of whoever or whatever lived within the Nen-location. The subjects had no especial abilities, no particularities that distinguished them above others. They were simple replicas of a simple human. Yet, the sponsors and scientists behind this scheme expected this simplicity to be eradicated with the gradual growth of the subjects. The researchers had hypothesized that a human being who was born and raised surrounded by Nen could acquire immense power without much effort. The idea was that the subjects who didn't perish would leave their "home". From then, their abilities would increase exponentially. With time, surviving subjects would find each other and fight for supremacy. The "home" of the last one standing would be the ideal destination for future subjects.
Subject #02, Frig, was sent to The Cyclic Block. A prison conjured by a renowned Nen police officer named Nif. She worked with a partner, Fodoro. While Nif was in charge of sentencing and imprisoning, Fodoro used his hatsu ability Warden's Lock Swarm to manipulate the inmates' aura nodes and negate Nen release. Inside the prison, not one soul could employ Nen... until Frig arrived.
-The Cyclic Block The prisoners maintained a small-scale feudal system. What little farming territory there was had been divided amongst the strongest a decade ago. The weak worked. The strong slaughtered. Everyone depended on agriculture. The only meat they could obtain was fish or birds. During Fish Season, the prison was surrounded by four impenetrable walls and a roof of ocean water. Fish flew through the sky of the prison, moving from one wall to another. This was also the season to gather and purify water; for as soon as Bird Season arrived, the water was replaced by gas, tightly compacted gas impossible to go through. Each season began and ended on a determinate date. The day before Bird Season, prisoners were instructed by Fodoro to move into a communal jail. A huge metallic box with but one entrance. One day later, they were told to go back to their activities and Bird Season started. The day before Fish Season, prisoners were not told to go to the communal jail, instead Fodoro assigned them individual jails which had been built within the metallic box (the one that had worked as a communal jail). One day later, Fish Season began. Those who did not obey Fodoro and remained outside the communal jail, outside their individual jails, or inside another inmate's jail were never seen again... and soon forgotten.
The day the prison had celebrated its 30th anniversary, The brown-eyed baby cried his first whimper. The sound was soft but it still caught the farmers attention. He had been found completely naked but for a steel dog tag with the number two engraved on it. He was covered in some type of green slime. A puddle of the same substance spread around him. He'd been offered to the ruler of the area, who regarded the newborn with contempt but praised the farmers for the discovery of the steel tag. A baby inmate was indeed unheard of. But babies did happen to born from time to time within the prison. However, they were never given individual cells, thus they never got past a Bird Season. This particular baby was offered to the ruler's farmers as a reward for the steel. Some announced that such a creature was a delicacy from which they could make the finest of meals. Others (with a spark of compassion intact) said that it'd be better to give him a quick ending and a proper burial. Fish Season was around the corner; swift death had to be the best option. A married couple (married since before they were sentenced) said no. They would take care of the baby. When the time came, one of them would share their cell. And so, the baby, named Frigend Leght, survived the day before Fish Season with the woman he'd call mother until the moment her and her husband were brutally murdered by the ruler who owned Frig's tag.
From the moment of his survival, Frig's parents and the farming community had nourished him with the sole purpose of becoming a weapon. The secrecy of his existence had become a priority for the farmers. His early years saw him treated with kindness. All changed when, at age 5, he awakened his aura. Then, training and chastisement became his bread and water. Frig was neither strong, nor fast. Try as they might, his masters (experienced Nen criminals, though now unable to use Nen) couldn't turn him into something he was not. Even with years of practicing Nen at the absolute basic level, he still wasn't near good enough to handle a ruler's soldier. They arrived at the most reasonable conclusion. A kid such as Frig would get beat up: bruised, broken, burned, paralyzed. The best approach to make him capable was for him to withstand pain. He may not punch hard or dodge fast, but he should be able to not give in. His masters, parents, all who would proceeded to torture him in a variety of forms. Rarely was he given rest. And Frig hated them. His hate would evolve from desperation, to rage, to acceptance and, finally, to defense. He built walls made of hatred, of raw painful memories, around his self.
Frig's adoptive parents had been killed for disturbing the prison's order. The ruler had not paid much attention to the survival of Frig; so it came as a surprise when he was informed that the farmers were planning to revolt by using a secret weapon, a kid who had been taught Nen control. The 9-year old weapon became his the second he strode inside the kid's house. The ruler had removed his scarlet scarf and thrown it at the boy. Frig was ordered by the man with the scarf to kill his parents. His father died first without posing much of a fight. His mom, however, had managed to blaze their house on fire before grabbing a damaged pitchfork and scarring Frig for the rest of his life.
Three years later, on the first day of Fish Season, the ruler, no longer a ruler but the King of the Block, was found strangled in his individual cell; the murder weapon, a dog tag. The day before, Frig had escaped The Cylic Block (after killing the ruler) by breaking the walls of his own (previously his mother's) individual cell.
-The Hoax Folks He had woken up in the middle of the sea. Waves toyed with him. Up above, a massive dark grey cloud dissipated. Frig decided that whatever awaited him ashore didn't need to know about his past or anything about him.
Eventually, Frig joined local gang "Hoax Folks". They're a group of youngsters focused on making a living primarily out of scams and lies. He was hired as the muscle of the group (his scar was a big bonus since it sometimes inspired enough fear to avoid a fight). As the gang got more comfortable with him, they taught Frig a few things. Here, he would adopt the character of a fun-seeking child, victim of past atrocities he hoped to one day forget.
The monster he's tried to contain for so long grows restless. Proof of this was his sudden application to become a Hunter; a title, he knows, is awaiting for him.
