× General Information
Name: Jikumo Lami Gender: Male Age: 18 Height: 5' 11'' Weight: 158 lbs. Species: Human Appearance: Jikumo wouldn't win any contests for his incredible looks or anything, but he isn't particularly disgusting, either. He could be described as a little bit average, with a slightly tan complexion, and lithe figure. On top of his head is a mess of shaggy, midnight black hair. His eyes are one unique thing about him, being red, like rubies.
Jikumo's fashion sense is pretty...average, bordering terrible. He tends to throw things on at random, though he does have some outfits made for certain occasions. His most used one is a red shirt with a black symbol on it, a spiral ending in a dragon head. Over this shirt is a black hoodie that reaches down a bit past his waist, with a solid white border where it closes, and white fur on the inside of the hood. He wears a pair of regular jeans, with a black sash that holds the sheath for his sword, and a pair of black and white sneakers. On his face is a pair of black glasses, with slightly thicker square frames than wire.
Profession: None Reputation: 18 (Rank H)
Background
Birthday: June 9th Personality: Jikumo rarely thinks of himself of anything more than average, and tries to blend into the background more often than not. His hesitant attitude leads him to make a lot of careless mistakes, even if the task at hand is simple. This doesn't happen much when it's just him, or if, for example, it is a fight against somebody he doesn't know. He's a quiet person, preferring to distract himself with things rather than pass the time talking. As such, he's also very thoughtful, and ideas can come to him out of the blue by just giving him a little time to think. Though this is also one of his downfalls, as sometimes, when thinking too much before speaking, he will trip up on words, or say the wrong thing. "Sorry" is something he says a lot when he makes mistakes like this, and he beats himself up unconsciously afterwards.
Getting Jikumo angry isn't all too hard, though it will take some knowledge of his character. It's not like just anything will get him mad, it has to be something he cares about. As he's always keeping his emotions and thoughts inside himself, these are the moments when he lets it all loose, and that's when you wanna stay out of his way. He becomes unfocused, and that's a good thing and a bad thing. Without constant doubt in his mind, he is able to reach his full potential...to a point. Things like his strength, speed, or even skill can be increased...but he loses all sense of reason. Once he is mad, it's extremely easy to make him even worse, and not at all easy to calm him down.
Another thing about Jikumo, is that he's a bit forgetful. Smaller things, even the events of a boring or average day, will escape his mind unless he's reminded of it. It's not due to a lack of intelligence, rather, it's because he always has so many things on his mind. He was once told that if he could focus his mind, he could possibly be the most brilliant swordsman in the world. This isn't just random speculation, either. He has shown that once he puts his mind to something, he will excel at it faster than many would have anticipated, but he quickly loses that focus, leading him to believe that he's an idiot, or that there's simply something wrong with him, despite what he's told by others.
Besides that, he's easily amused. Playing video games is his favorite pastime, and he can get distracted by them almost instantly. He's a bit of a nerd that way. Though he does focus on other things, like his will to become a Hunter. Right behind games by a slim mark, is swordsmanship. He's absolutely in love with the art of blades, probably inherited by his grandfather. He can open up at times, when he's comfortable with the people he's talking to, and he ends up enjoying his time. He's terrible with jokes, though, so expect some heavy cringing. His laugh is also a bit awkward, since he rarely does it.
Getting more into his downsides, Jikumo is a bit greedy and arrogant at times. When he wants something, he's determined to get it, and it's a little hard for him to sacrifice things. His arrogance is what gets him into trouble a lot in fights when he gets the upper hand. He loses his edge, and once he begins losing, he panics and becomes worse if he's not snapped out of it.
Determination and confidence are within Jikumo somewhere, but he has to open up and break his shell of silence. If he doesn't, he'll never achieve his goal.
Origin: Jikumo grew up in a strict household, living with his family in the mountains of a cold region in Jappon. To his elders, there was only one way to prove yourself in the household: Defeat your father in combat. As a child, he was constantly taught what his family knew as the necessities for living in a cruel world. His primary lessons were based on swordsmanship with their signature weapon, the katana. Along with his younger cousin, he trained tirelessly in order to master it, learning everything he could about the weapon. His cousin had no need for such things, being a natural with the blade. Jikumo never won a one on one match with his cousin, which caused him to lose faith in his own abilities.
During a time when Jikumo and his cousin, Raiumo, were in their intermediate training, his father and Raiumo's uncle brought them to a forest just alongside a mountain's base. Left there with only a small hunting knife each, they were told to live off of the land. The spoiled Raiumo was unable to get a hang of it at first, but Jikumo made do with what he had, killing a rabbit, his first prey, in the first night. After a week, Raiumo still had made little progress, while Jikumo already had a comfortable shelter. The jealous cousin tricked Jikumo, getting him to travel deeper into the forest to get better firewood after soaking every piece that he had collected.
As Jikumo went off into the forest alone, Raiumo's trap sprung. Wild wolves began to chase and hunt him relentlessly, making him run further and further from camp until he was unable to be seen or heard. Raiumo, assuming the worst, told his uncle that Jikumo had been stupid enough to rush into the forest all on his own and that he was now food for the wolves. Unfortunately for him, Jikumo returned a month later, the pelt of a wolf on his back, throwing it in the middle of the house for all to see. He earned the name "Wolf Hunter" from his father, who was finally proud of him. However, Jikumo resented that his cousin would trick him in such a way, and challenged him to a duel that would decide their fates. If Jikumo won, Raiumo would have to leave the household. But if Raiumo won, Jikumo would have to leave instead. His father tried to protest, knowing that Jikumo's skill was nowhere near the level of his cousin yet, but the young man refused to back down.
It was a quick duel, and like his father had predicted, Jikumo lost. Packing his things without a word of resentment or hate, knowing he had chosen this for himself, he left his childhood home in search of something greater. He would go forth and take the Hunter's Exam, to become stronger than his cousin and gain his honor back.
