Background
Birthday: 16th April Personality: In accordance to the amount of love and care he received throughout his childhood, Oscar has a warm and somewhat playful attitude towards his family and those he treats like family. He generally keeps any discomforts or negativity he faces to himself, his deep-seated mentaily allowing such feats. A consequence stemming from this though is that Oscar grew up being the recipient to others' venting. He doesn't mind listening to such rants but note that his own self comes first before anybody else, his family coming close second; if he had to make a decision between giving up his time for others or work on something for himself, he would almost always pick the latter unless some future benefits tip the scale. In that sense one could also say the reason he puts his family's well-being such a high priority because they are close to him and treasures them as much as he treasures his own self.
Note that Oscar's bottled up discomforts and negativity eventually explodes out from time to time. The trigger usually happens when he is exhausted or in a pinch, and could be something really trivial happening one after the other. This 'phase' in which his emotions come tumbling after can last from a second to a fair few minutes, but during this stage Oscar's positive demeanour disappears without a trace and can be quite snarky at best of times. He isn't one to intentionally maim others but this phase often leads him to smash or throw easily breakable objects at a wall or something.
Someone who wants to exploit Oscar's other 'weakness' may as well attempt to pique his curiosity, as he is a man who cannot stand to have unanswered questions or pass by anything he wants to know. This part of him has dragged this mostly-rational man to many different dilemmas in the past and will for ever do so in the future.
Another notable aspect about Oscar is his attitude to debts. Stemming from his self-serving and independant nature drilled into him from childhood, he has a strong reluctance to being indebted to someone and leaving it unrepaid. It's slightly different to being a stubborn pig and not accepting others' help; oftentimes he will happily accept their contribution regardless of whether it's of equivalent trade, as the act of repayment is the fundamental aspect here not the worth of the favour exchanged. He will, however, do everything within his power and morals to repay them. Likewise if he helps others, chances are he will expect to get helped back at one point or another.
No matter who it is, Oscar isn't one to shy away from holding some form of communication if prompted, whether it be just a wave or an actual conversation [provided he's not intentionally trying to hide or something]. This applies to both allies and enemies alike; it's in his belief that communication is the basis of intelligence [though most of the time it's purely because he's curious as to what the other party wants to say to him].
Enjoying his life is probably the number one thing driving Oscar to get by his day to day lives. Even during stressing or urgent times his mentality allows him to savour the moment, especially more so if there are things he likes within the vincity - sculptures or models of fine quality, delicious food and drinks, or just cute girls to chase after as a few examples. Perhaps the number one dislike this man carries is a giant body of water; he has never learnt to swim.
Origin: It won't be a lie to say that Oscar had never before set foot outside the borders of the Seoulja Continent. He barely recalls even leaving his birthplace at the Cinema Town to boot, which shows how little knowledge he has of the outside world. In fact if it wasn't for Brenna, his little sister whose eyes were that of their father and hair as flowing as their mother, he would have lived a peaceful life within the imaginary walls of the bustling town.
Oscar's family lived a decent life without any significant hardships which was a God's blessing. Not a single contact with a criminal organization nor a scammer. Perhaps this was why the Cicatricks family wasn't as cautious as they should've been the day something finally did happen.
The disaster occured from the tiniest pique of curiosity by the older brother of the Cicatricks sibling, the ten year old Oscar. He had came across an abandoned building in the shadows of the town's outskirts. With his little sister whom he was fond of ever since six years ago when she came into his life, the siblings delved into the magical fantasy of exploring the untold mysteries of the forsaken construction.
At first they didn't have trouble seeing thanks to the hundreds of lights from the filming sets and houses nearby, but a single turn of the corner made from the hallways was more than enough to muffle the two children into total darkness. Only the faint traces of laughter and people managed to accompany them in this place, reminding them that they are still able to turn back whenever they want. By this point the little sister, Brenna, had lost her sense of adventure and pleaded to her brother to go back, but Oscar's curiosity was still egging him to go on. And so they did until they came across a certain doorway which seemed to flicker with an eerie light.
To this day Oscar does not remember what he saw on the other side of the darkness save for that light, but the next thing he knew he was staring at the worried faces of his parents. It took him a moment to recognize the town's clinic and to his surprise he was told that a week had passed since that day. After a few days of getting his body back to speed, for he was bed-ridden for a week, Oscar was able to go back to his daily lives. His sister, however never woke from the mysterious coma. The doctors could not find out what was wrong, as there were no symptoms of any illness. That is, until four years later when a foreigner stumbled into the clinic.
As a family, the Cicatricks took turns taking care of their loved one everyday, supporting each other through the ordeal and pain of seeing their cheerful and bright Brenna withering away in slumber. The day a drunk Hunter who was carried in emergency after a bar fight was the day they finally knew what was ailing the girl. The Hunter, upon seeing the family, screamed in fright and fell off the stretcher, staring in fear at the unconscious girl. He then started babbling about a 'strong nen ability' and something about 'cursed'. It took them an effort and a half to calm him down to hear the full story.
Brenna was afflicted with a Nen Curse. It was at this point Oscar learnt of this 'Nen' business, of its capability. About why it wasn't visible to them but how he can see them. Unfortunately that was the extent of what he could say as the Hunter had no knowledge of the owner of the Nen curse, nor did he have any means to find out. He was kind enough to tell the Cicatricks of an alternate, if not seemingly impossible solution - to go look for an Exorcist. Two problems arose from this; no one knew where an Exorcist was, and they had no money to pay them. It was then Oscar was introduced to the world of the Hunters; he would be able to travel the world in search of an Exorcist while earning funds as well. The Hunter, while he was stuck in the clinic while his injuries healed, passed on the knowledge of Nen to Oscar as well as setting up a water divination test to help him understand his affinity. He refused to teach him how to actually manage his Nen however, saying that he wasn't skilled enough to become a mentor. Unlike his original plan, the Hunter stayed a while with the Cicatricks family to advise and help out Oscar sate his curiosity as well as training for his newfound destination, both physical self-defenses and telling stories of his own Hunter exam experience.
It took him a while, but Oscar Cicatricks finally took his first step to becoming a Hunter at the age of eighteen, his determination to explore the world and enjoy himself while looking for ways to save his sister.

Basic Nen Techniques
Hatsu Affinity: Manipulation
[6/6] [0/0]
Hatsu Theme: Nen Appendages General Hatsu Description: Replication of body parts using solidified aura. General Hatsu Conditions: Quantity limit - cannot replicate more appendages than what the caster originally have and is functional. Vows and Limitations - Appendages can only be replicated from designated sources/surfaces as detailed on the Hatsu ability. There is a range limit to the manipulation.
Additional Notes: Oscar is not capable of using Nen abilities yet, this is just a pre-thought out hatsu to see if it is feasible enough to be accepted as well as attempting to 'reserve' it per se.
Hatsu Abilities Hatsu Name: Orbs Type: Supportive Hatsu Category: Emission Hatsu Rank: R4, 80% affinity: 3AP Description: The caster projects and solidifies their Nen to dark olive-coloured orbs the size of fists. They are suspended in mid-air, stationary and does nothing of particular interest. The orb is pretty malleable in that it turns flat when pounded flat or denting when poked by a finger non-nen attack, but it will revert back to its spherical shape without breaking or splitting. It is tangible and takes up space. Conditions: Caster can summon as many as [Aura stat divided by eight, round down] orbs at the same time. Range: Can only be summoned in caster's En range. The caster's aura will 'split off' from them as it solidifies, which means the distance between the caster and the destination must be free of obstacles. The orbs won't disappear if they're out of Caster's En range after they are completely formed. The explosion has a radius of 30cm [around one's forearm's length]. Effect: Generates olive orbs. They harmlessly bounce off from any physical impact. When nen techs or pure aura is forced onto the orb by someone who isn't the caster, they burst into a blast of explosive aura to deal damage, an impact on par of a typical boxer's punch. The caster can also be affected by the blast if in range. Cooldown: Two orbs per post.
Hatsu Name: Appendages Type: Offensive/Defensive Hatsu Category: Manipulation Hatsu Rank: R3: 3AP Description: Caster manipulates Orbs to replicate their body parts. Conditions: Caster can only manipulate Orbs created from their own aura. caster cannot make more of a particular body part than they originally have and is functional [e.g. average person has two hands and arms, so at most two 'hand and arm' appendages can be created. If one of the arms are broken or detached from the body, they cannot create a replication of that body part]. The appendages must be bigger than the size of a fingernail and no bigger than twice the original size. The speed at which the Orbs and Appendages move is at most twice the speed of the rate in which the caster can move their limbs. Likewise, the amount of power they can generate is at most twice the caster's ability with their original body parts. Range: Can only control Orbs within En range. The appendages can extend further than the En range as long as it is still 'touching' the En range, however the moment it's fully outside the caster's En range all manipulation abilities on the Orbs will dissipate, making them revert to being in a spherical orb state. Effect: Manipulates Orbs within En range to replicate a body part of the caster. The caster can freely move them using their mind. The Appendages' size , power and speed relates to the amount the caster can originally exert with their actual body parts. The body parts replicated via this ability functions one way; that is, if a damage is inflicted on the Appendage, the caster is unaffected but if the caster's body is damaged, the Appendage respective to that body part will be damaged. When the Orbs are manipulated to become Appendages, they no longer explode upon contact with nen that is not of the caster. Instead they can be destroyed by any physical or nen force equivalent or greater than 75% of the caster's Endurance stat. They simply disperse into harmless aura when destroyed, and flows back to the caster. Cooldown: If a particular body part Appendage is destroyed, the same body part cannot be formed from another Orb on the same post [or the most recent post after being destroyed if it was destroyed during someone else's post].
× Non-Nen Techniques
[12/16]Techniques Technique Name: Dynamic combat experience and training Technique Category: Informal fighting style / street fighting Type: Defensive Range: Melee, close combat. Technique Rank: 4 Description: Combat experiences from roughly four years of training, bar fights and street fights. Follows no set form and relies on improvisation. This particular 'style' of street fighting focuses more on keeping a defensive stance in accordance to Oscar's strengths in stamina and power, making up for his average speed and aiming ability.
Technique Name: Grip of doom Technique Category: Informal fighting style / obstruction Type: Supportive Range: Melee, close combat Technique Rank: 8 Description: Grips onto the opponent. There are largely two variations to this technique. -Holding the opponent down with his body mass or just a single hand grip to deliver a more accurate blow. those with lesser strength would find it very difficult to escape without a special technique. -Bear hug as well as restraining their limbs as a means to incapacitate the opponent. Oscar can stand a few average blows to buy some time from this as well.
