Profession: Kiriyia was a courier of sorts, a “runner”. He dealt in secret packages and information, as well as escorts, until he changed and became a local vigilante. Reputation: 25 (Rank H)
Background Birthday: Jan 17 Personality: Kiriyia is a serious guy, wise beyond his age, and cautious. He’s had to be, given his profession. He has no qualms against killing, but only when necessary. Many who have met him describe him to be sort of beast-like, although that’s only due to his unique upbringing. Although he’s kindhearted on the inside, you wouldn’t know unless you knew him quite well, which few do. But when he does have friends, his loyalty is unshakeable. Before, he had a buddy who kept him lightened up some somewhat, but no more. He’s an introverted guy, the type to bottle his emotions, but once it boils over his rage is quite fierce. He has a strong personal code he holds himself to, although it is as adaptable as he is. He constantly has a poker face, always keeping people guessing. When he finds something he believes in or wishes to protect, he’ll fight for it. He wants to become a hunter to hunt down evil organizations and people as well as dangerous mythical beasts. Origin: Kiriyia was born Kale Noble to two big game hunters who made their living in the vast northern wilderness of Padokea, living on the outskirts of the town of Narcera. They lived mostly off the land, and came to town rarely to sell their trappings. His father, Wylan Noble, was a famous 2-star Hunter who was retiring soon to focus on raising his son along with his wife Sarai. Sarai was an immigrant from East Gorteau who had met Wylan on one of his trips there, fallen for him, and left for Padokea with him, adopting his lifestyle as well. They had happily raised Kale until shortly after his tenth birthday, when they encountered a mythical creature far beyond their capabilities to defeat. They had journeyed far to the northwest of Narcera, bringing young Kale along for the ride. The boy loved nature as much as his parents, and begged to tag along. They couldn’t refuse him, and against their better judgement they brought him instead of leaving him with Wylan’s brother Declan… Arriving in Kawani forest, they camped and explored for days, in vastly uncharted territory. After hiking for awhile in a mountain range, they stumbled across a cave on a cliffside. But they didn’t enter, or rather, they couldn’t enter. Upon reaching that point they were hit with an aura so wrathful, so dangerous, that for a moment they could not move a muscle. Kale, barely even at the entry level of nen, caught this full force, and, terrified beyond imagination, passed out quickly. Seeing this, his parents snapped out of it and prepared to take action as whatever had projected such malice towards them began to lumber out of the cave. When the creature emerged, it was clear that they should never have ventured so far north. What stood before them was a mythical monster so feared, so ferociously territorial and ravenous, that it had kept a large area of northwest Padokea uninhabited for centuries. This was none other than the Wendigo, a 10-ft. tall, silver-furred monstrous humanoid beast, that had the appearance of man, lion, and wolf fused together! This beast was so fearsome, so wrathful, that tales of its savagery had abounded for far too long, and no one had ever been able to confirm its existence. No one alive, or sane for that matter, as anyone claiming to have seen it usually came home in mental shambles and went mad soon after. Wylan had heard the tales, but had neglected to investigate further. He was, after all, soon to be retired. The beast looked down at them, with soulless, gleaming ice-blue eyes, as its great tail lashed behind him threateningly. And then, it spoke, in a booming, threatening tone. “Foolish children of man, you have been warned for ages untold to steer clear of these woods…Have you not heard the tales? Of entire villages of those who came before you, gone within a fortnight…” The monster grinned, revealing murderous teeth. “My hunger is insatiable, and I haven’t had a taste of a human in well-nigh 50 years…how unlucky for you…” Tilting back its ugly head and roaring viciously, its aura began to swell. Its aura was immense, and so filled with death that his parents immediately sprang into action out of pure fight-or-flight response, manifesting their auras. His father, being an enhancer, Immediately dashed forward while concentrating his aura, While Sarai huddled close to her son, putting har emitter talents to good use by constructing an aura barrier. He turned briefly to look over his shoulder to shout warning to his wife. “Run! Get Kale out of here no-!” No sooner had he spoken than The Wendigo lashed out with frightening power, sending a fast slash wave of aura at his prey, which ripped Wylan to shreds and destroyed Sarai’s protective shield, sending an unconscious Kale and his mother sprawling over the cliffs edge into the ravine below… Coming home from a long day’s work, a hunting party of Wolf Kirikos(A grey variant cousin of Kirikos with a much more wolf-like appearance, but can still change form.) found an unconscious and badly injured Kiriyia by the riverside, many miles downriver from the Wendigo’s den, and outside of his territory. They brought him home to their village, where they attended to his wounds and nursed him back to health. Upon coming to, he was found to have Ice-Blue eyes instead of the brown he was born with and silver patches in his dark grey hair, which had become wild and spiky, along with amnesia due to the severe trauma of experiencing the Wendigo’s aura. He had no Idea who he was or how he’d ended up half-dead by the riverside in mostly uncharted wilderness. He was also subconsciously leaking his aura, his nen having been awakened by the encounter with the Wendigo. Due to some strange phenomenon, having been wounded and experiencing its aura, it had bonded and fused with his own which had rose up to protect him in response to the trauma, giving him a strong, feral sort of aura. The clan was wary of this, knowing of the Wendigo all too well, and the boy’s aura reminded them of something they wanted nothing at all to do with. Coupled with his injuries, it didn’t take the village wiseman to surmise what he’d experienced. Despite this, the clan of Wolf Kirikos adopted him as one of their own, and taught him their ways and lifestyle, as well as traditional human education. Although they considered him to be one of their own and he took to their ways fairly well, he was often ostracized by his peers, who could sense the aura of the Wendigo within him. However, he was taught basic nen principles and techniques as well as how to control his aura by the village head, Kittan, who personally looked out for his well-being. After two years of living with the Kirikos, Kiriyia had decided he didn’t belong there. Although his memories hadn’t returned, he knew he didn’t belong there originally. Despite the clan’s objections out of concern for his safety, Kittan recognized his early maturity and granted him leave, pointing him to the nearest human settlement and providing him with supplies. Arriving in his hometown of Narcera, he quickly caught local attention with his odd clothing and cold eyes. When he got into a scuffle with the local hoodlums, his uncle Declan who happened to be at the scene broke it up and took Kiriyia home, recognizing him despite the sharp changes in appearance. Upon seeing his uncle and hearing from him, Kiriyia remembered the deadly occurance that took his parents and brought him to the Kirikos, sharing this with his distraught and hoffified uncle. However, they had difficulty getting along. Declan was a simple and stubborn carpenter and weaponsmith, and Kiriyia was young, restless, and constantly troubled and moody. Due to this, he quickly fell in with a bad local crowd, who remembered the beating he’d given some local thugs of theirs. Falling in with the Winter Suns, he had become a runner… During the two years Kiriyia spent with the Winter Suns, he had become embroiled within the turf war spanning between them, their rivals the Wyvern Specters, and local law enforcement. He constantly risked his life fighting, delivering suspicious packages, and dodging local law. Despite his growing dislike for the criminal lifestyle, he had been working hard to save money to apply to be a Hunter, along with his friend Samel. Samel was like him, a good kid who’d been through a lot, and hardened himself in order to make money. They were like brothers, and always watched each other’s backs, until Samel’s death when they were fed false information and sent right into a trap, outnumbered. Knowing that the Suns had betrayed them, Kiriyia retaliated, defecting from the Suns and killing those directy responsible… Now, at the age of 15, Kiriyia has become a feared vigilante in his hometown, cracking down on all criminal operations under a masked identity, the Wolf Spectre. Donning a menacing wolf mask, a tattered cloak and ninjato, he scoured the streets, secretly feeding the police info and single handedly raiding hideouts. He had saved enough to begin the process of becoming a hunter, and thus, he hung up the cape and cowl to begin his journey… History: History
