Jei wasn't that much of an expert on Nen yet. And the bird girl attacking was certainly unexpected. This time he'd have to rely on his skills and abilities... and maybe a bit of luck. Jei had no time to think, and he was a little tired from climbing the tree. He was going to take a gamble. Moving slightly to the side, Jei hopped off the tree to attempt to let the blade pass. However, he kept his arm up on the other side of the blade. So it looked like a finger going through a hole... He would try to grip the handle with his armpit, and drag Sisroo down. Jei was not skilled enough to do this without damage. The blade was dragged down under his armpit in the process. It was a long but not deep excision. It wasn't enough to hinder his determination. Next he would do something crazy. Jei was mainly a swordsman who knew Nen. But another skill he had was creativity. He tried crazy things on his mentor Garth, he tried doing a bicycle kick to land one strike. Now, he would try something probably even more crazy. He would attempt to tie his legs around a branch, and sling Sisroo downwards like a suplex. Jei wasn't that athletic, so the attack would be hard to execute. |

Sisroo fell quickly to the ground, but both her wings and the thick layer of snow already padding the hard rock made sure it didn't hurt much. She looked up with an angry glare; Jei was very near her nest and all territorial instincts blarred like a siren in her head. The bird quickly put the katana between her teeth and climbed up after him, much faster than he could given her sharp claws and experience. She caught up to him almost in the top, and climbed over him, clawing his back and shoulders as if he was part of the tree. Already standing in her nest, she spat out her sword and held it with her feet, ready for an attack. She knew she couldn't go down again and try to hit him, because if she failed she'd have no time to climb up before he got in, and that was out of question. Instead she waited for him, ready to stab whatever little hand or head that reached the top of the nest. |

Miss bird lady was faster than Jei had thought. She soared past him, and left a bit of a surprise. Clawing his back, Jei stumbled off the branch. He almost forgot about her as he made his way back upwards, and his reaction time wasn't enough to do anything... Her talons pierced his hoodie, and sent him backwards. He knew she didn't have intentions of throwing him off. She wasn't coming down either. Since he was standing on a branch, balance was hard and he tumbled downwards. Falling backwards, Jei almost did a back flip trying to regain balance on another branch. He wouldn't loose too much progress. He was caught on the same branch, but it wasn't a good thing. It was his hood that was caught. If Jei didn't do anything, he would be hung... An accidental execution. Jei simply snapped the branch holding him. The idea was simple, he would land on the branch under him. Unfortunately for Jei, he weighed a little too much. Jei fell through the branch and began tumbling below, again....... The unlucky young man managed to save himself again, by grabbing a hold of one before he crashed even further. Jei noticed now after he broke the branch, there was a gap between the next branch. It would be impossible for the average human to get up there, unless the person was a pro climber or something. Jei grabbed the stub and began rocking back and froth for momentum. A jump would be too awkward and difficult. Instead Jei threw himself up, and kicked the tree with his momentum. He used Nen to leave a hole. Placing his right foot on the stub, and his left on the hole, Jei was doing the splits to hold himself up. After passing the branch, he began to work his way back up and to the nest. He was getting close. |

Her heart was beating fast, her eyes locked on the edge of the nest. It took some time, but he still didn't pop out. "Maybe he gave up", Sisroo hoped, "it's too much trouble for a little sword", but she knew it was a meaningless wish as she could still hear him. "Damn it really is too much trouble for a sword. Fuck this." It finally clicked in her head. She quickly uncovered the sword, looking over the shoulder every few seconds, and grabbed the hold. "Listen! I don't care anymore! I'm coming down with your sword!" she screamed, hoping he would believe her. She jumped down to the snow with the sword. She kicked it up to flip it and held the blade lightly, pointing the hilt to him, as to show she wasn't going to attack him or anything. "Come down here! Get your damn sword and scat!" |

Jei was not sure if he wanted to go down. He wasn't sure of any other ideas besides following his blade... he considered making a ransom by getting into her nest and taking something. But the risk was too high. She could fly there in seconds, and Jei would take at least a minute. Also there might not be anything important above. Deciding to go down, Jei would make a short fall. Not much of a jump, but just kinda falling off from branch to branch. Soon he would reach the bottom, after half a minute. Jei took no chances jumping past more than 1 branch. They were somewhat sturdy, but he didn't want to test it, or his balance. Soon Jei stood on the bottom. Moving his feet across the snow, Jei stared at the owl girl. He didn't have much to say. He would demand his sword and leave. If she attacked, well Jei was confident he'd win. Jei knew Nen, and he could tell she didn't. But he didn't know her physical abilities either... Still, he'd assume he was stronger. Looking her dead in the eyes, Jei began to speak. "Place my sword in the snow, and fly away.", he said in a curt manner. Jei wasn't messing around anymore. She took his blade. His Nodachi was important to him. He wasn't going to forgive her easily... but he wasn't going to attack unless he was pushed any further. If she gibed at him before handing the blade, or tried anything funny, he would not hold back. His expression was dour, his eyes cold. |

Sisroo frowned. He really wasn't as dumb as she expected and stayed at a safe distance. "Well, nice enough for a human, I guess", she snickered to herself. Very well. His harsh words meant business and Sisroo couldn't give a damn about the sword anymore, just the buzzing excitement she felt now facing him, her pupils so large you could barely see the golden of her eyes. She couldn't put the finger on what exactly aroused her so much about the situation, but his stone hard expression screamed "tasty meat" through and through. "I get it, alright. So you're one of the fussy ones. Nice." She figured if the sword was so important to him he probably wasn't that great of a bare-handed fighter, and so she tossed the nodachi back some good feet away. She dashed against him hastly, leaping a few feet before reaching him and bearing her claws, aiming for his neck. |

It was true. Jei wasn't much of a fighter without his blade. That didn't mean he wasn't good with defense. Jei always had the tendency to completely evade attacks if the opportunity was available. Meaning, he didn't need his blade to defend. Yes she was faster than Jei, he could tell. But she wasn't as quick as the leopard he met before. Jei figured the battle wouldn't be too hard, but still he was ready for any surprises. Jei wasn't startled by her attack, he knew she was a feisty lady... person... thing. He knew his words could possibly provoke her, but even if he didn't Jei suspected her being the type of person to do something like this. Placing his left hand low, and his right hand next to his head, Jei was ready to move. The feeling was natural, it was as if he were holding his Nodachi, but his hands were a little more spread as if it were a staff. This was how he started getting comfortable with his techniques. Despite being semi comfortable, truly he wasn't. He never really went without his blade. It was subconscious to hold his hands the way they were, and he didn't think much. As Sisroo dashed with her claws towards his neck. Jei had plenty of time to see it coming. Jei dashed off to the side, attempting to avoid the strike and create more distance. Once he saw more of a pattern or tendency, Jei would strike to finish her off. He had a thin layer of aura all around him, waiting to condense it in the slightest if she landed a strike. He wasn't a master with Nen yet... he wasn't sure if it'd work. But the small amount would suffice. He also prepared to add a little Nen to his strike. For now, he'd wait for his chance. |

Jei moved quickly to evade from her attack, which wasn't much of a surprise as it was a frustration to realize that this lanky human was almost as fast as her. Sisroo landed harshly on the snow, sliding a bit further, but stood up without much problem. She ran back as fast as she could, determined of staying between Jei and his sword. She waited until she was much closer to him to prepare for an attack, hoping his response would be slow enough for her to strike. A few feet away from him she finally sunked low, sliding through the snow, in position to hit his ankles and hopefully fall. |

Jei reacted well and the attack was avoided. Jei maintained his relaxed stance, awaiting a better attempt for a counter. He watched carefully, focused on his opponent before he retrieved his sword. He figured out she was definitely just as fast. Maybe just as skillful... but Jei did not struggle to dodge the first attack. He knew he could not play around and wait for the absolute perfect chance. He learned to take risks in his training... He knew he could take one now. In fact, it would be less of a risk to attack as quick as possible. Jei made his mind up to counter on the next attack. Watching carefully as Sisroo charged back at him, quickly he prepared his stance again. Down... She began sliding a little ahead of him. Jei leaped into the air, but was not quick enough. His ankle was caught by her long talons, which Jei did not think about... However, it was somewhat to his advantage. The two were parallel and face to face. He still had the opportunity to strike. Jei would use Kou, transferring all his Nen to his dominant, right hand. Swinging downwards, Jei would attempt to kill Sisroo. It was risky, but he already knew she didn't use Nen, so it wasn't as large. Still, there was a chance it'd backfire. There was another chance she'd die....... Or even be awakened. |

Sisroo felt her claws grabbing at something, probably his ankle, and he tripped over her. She was smiling victoriously, when she felt a quick and heavy impact on her stomach. The fist sank into her skin in a warm, almost burning sensation, and before she realized Jei was out of her. The burning was still there, though the pain was just that of a strong punch. She got up and held her ribs. They hurt really bad, and although she didn't feel or heard the cracking at the time, they were probably broken. She could still fight, she went on with a couple broken ribs before. She could... Sisroo fell to her knees. The burning was spreading, almost like venom sipping into her bloodstream. Her internal organs started contracting and cramping. Ugh, what the fuck? "What the fuck!?" She screamed at the man. Did he hit some kind of special star point in her sign constellation? She saw that on an anime once. Maybe one of these acupuncture points she saw on the asian medicines episode of Doctor Oz. Oh god it burned. Fuck it, she didn't care she just wanted it to stop. But now the dude would probably just take his damn sword and go. Ugh she hated dudes. "Come on! I'm sorry I took your toy just, fix me! Come back here you titty fucking shit!" |
