Jei was on a quest to discover Mount Miera's beasts. He had heard rumors of them from people Republic of Rokario, where he had just gotten off a plane. He had returned from Arizu Island, where he trained with his friend Aiza, and his mentor Garth. He was deciding what to do to become a hunter. He had heard about Beast Hunters... so he decided to see what it was like. Simply making it through the infamous Mount Miera would be enough. He wanted to see if the rumors were real. Animals with extraordinary limbs... Currently, due to the bizarre weather patterns, the mountain Jei was at, was snowing heavily. Possibly, he could be caught in a blizzard. Jei was no mountain climber, so he decided not to climb the mountains... Instead he would just walk around them, trying to find one of the animals. Once he saw a few, he'd be more than satisfied. Adjusting his leopard hat, Jei stared at the snow. The weather was much colder than it was at Arizu Island... but Jei liked the weather here as well. Jei always enjoyed the cold, and he was dressed for it as well. He continued to march through the snow, going through the dangerous area. |

Sisroo adjusted the big umbrella she stole from some dumb hiker, trying to protect herself from the snow, and she scrolled through the channels of her tiny black and white tv. The image has been shifty as her generator was running out of battery, but she couldn't steal another since the only hardware shop in the closest city broke down. She meant to take a look further to find another, but it's been snowing more frequently than usual and she'd rather stay "home" watching Cake Boss... or that was the general idea, she thought as she heard boots dragging through the snow. Ok, who was the idiot coming up here in a weather like this? The owl girl shifted uninterestedly in her nest, trying to catch the image of whoever it was. She was feeling extra lazy, it would take something really nice to take her out of there today. She frowned at the figure unclouded by the snow. "It's just some dude... booooring. And what's with these clothes. What Not To Wear producers would pay anything to have that trash in their show." Sisroo snarled as she rolled around lazily. "Hmmm, he has a nice little sword there..." She didn't need more rusting swords laying around her next, but that's the deal about hoarders, right? She didn't even think much of it, just a little mid-morning fun... too bad the man seemed too skinny to be a healthy breakfast. Sisroo poked the tv's power button with a claw and stood in the edge of her nest, facing the man. She should take five seconds to glide down, and judging his pace at the moment she should fall right in place to just hold his sword if she jumped on four... three... two... one- She held her wings on a cutting position that would make the least noise possible and her claw quickly held the red sheath. In the few moments it took to stabilize herself, Sisroo could take a nice look at her victim and, oooh, he was cute... still dressed like shit, but cute. Almost forgetting this was supposed to be a quick robbery she used her other foot to kick the man's shoulder and boosted herself up to fly to a big rock nearby. "Yooo, kiddie, dja mama let you date?" She asked with a crossed smile. |

Jei's mind was quite blank. There wasn't much to see besides white. Jei's eyes widened as he felt a presence. Turning his head to see what was there, perhaps one of the animals he had been searching for. His eyes did not see anything, but he sensed a presence. Realizing it too late, Jei did not look up before the owl girl touched him. Reaching for his blade, he was tilted off balance, as the girl pushed off of him. Expecting some sort of bird, what he found was nothing like he imagined. A bird... girl? This was nothing like the rumors Jei had heard! No...... this was something different. Jei had discovered something new anyways. Still, he wasn't sure what it was. Already shocked, Jei's tongued rolled out of his mouth as the bird girl spoke. Does my mama... let me date? Jei put one hand on his Nodachi. He did not want to be too hostile by drawing his weapon, but he certainly did not want to be vulnerable. The words that came to his mind, told him to ask what she was. But clearly she had some human in her. He did not want to offend her... and he couldn't act like this was an everyday thing. Jei had heard all sorts of stories growing up. From dragons to werewolves. He didn't buy any of it. His mindset changed after his training on Arizu Island. He did see a dragon there after all... This wasn't something completely new, but still... it was shocking. "Erm- ah... I guess so??? Are you from Mt. Miera???" asked an awkward Jei, not sure what to do in this situation. His mind was simply confused. He didn't know what to do. - Focused so much on the task, Jei did not sense the enemy coming. It wasn't a human, but the type of animal Jei had been searching for. The long limbed predator, was a snow leopard. Hidden in the snow, the feline's eyes darted to the leopard attire of the human, Jei. The human would be it's prey... It believed it's relatives were hunted for the skin. This was the leopard's vendetta. buuut...... Jei's clothing was not real leopard skin. Jei would soon meet his objective and reason for coming all the way out to Mt. Miera. |

The man's hand grabbed his sword, still attached to his hips, and Sisroo looked to her feet a bit confused. Oh well, she only took the sheath. It wasn't even a cute sheath or anything. The man's question brought her attention back to the conversation. "Hm? And why should I tell you, meatcake?" Sisroo threw the empty sheath on his general direction, starting to get uninterested. As she was ready to fly back to her nest the man was suddenly tipped over by a big snow leopard, making Sisroo shake her wings carelessly in surprise. "Jeez," she mumbled, a bit annoyed at the jumpscare, "that's what you get for killing her baby I guess, hehe." The ant shrugged and flew a bit higher to a little jut in the vertical stone wall, ready to watch the show. Maybe she could even get herself a snack if the leopard didn't eat it all. Hmmm, she could do some cute craft with his bones too... |

Jei felt her touch his shoulder, but he didn't feel his blade being pulled. Realizing his blade was already unsheathed, Jei dragged it across the snow. At first, Jei wasn't sure whether the owl girl was joking or hostile. He still wasn't confident, but she was leaning out of the friendly side. Seeing his sheathe tossed across the snow, Jei did not decide to pick it up, just yet. It could be bait for an attack. Thinking too hard, Jei was interrupted by a limber beast. Blood shot out of his shoulder, as long, sharp teeth ripped through his hoodie. The leopard caught him off guard, and his Nodachi fell out of his hands, stumbling next to his sheathe (so Sisroo can reclaim it xD). The thing was too fast. Falling on his butt, Jei looked at the snow, which was now red. His shoulder was fine, luckily. The bite did not happen to be too deep. Jei stumbled backwards, trying to get his distance from the beast. His eyes twitched when he saw the monster... The snow leopard did not really look like one at first glance. It did not have much of a hulking figure, but it was very long for it's size. And it's size was quite large as well. The thing was twice the size of Jei, and probably twice as long too. Growling, the leopard circled it's prey... Jei was weaponless. If he was in this situation a couple months ago, he probably would have died. Now he knew Nen. The training wasn't for nothing... Jei kept his aura well rounded, for defense. Keeping his hands up, Jei awaited the leopard's first move. |

"Ooh, jeez, that was violent," she snarked as blood fell in the snow, feeling her stomach grumble. Sisroo felt like getting some for herself, yet she knew she wasn't nearly strong enough to actually get into that fight. Something shiny caught her eyes, and she saw the nodachi falling near her in the snow. "Jackpot!" The bird girl squealed, quickly diving to the sword. She would pat herself in the back if she had hands; staying to watch the fight was the greatest decision she could have had. She brought the nodachi to her mouth, holding tight with her teeth, as she needed her feet to escalate back to her nest. It was annoying but her wings weren't just strong enough yet. Sisroo lost no time, quickly reaching the dry hay and leaves that made up her little "home". She could still watch the fight from a safe distance, while she polished her new acquisition with the ugly shirt of some dead hiker she wouldn't be caught dead wearing it. Jei looked around his surroundings to see what he could do. Maybe even get his sword back. Looking to where the owl girl was previously, he saw only snow. His sword was missing! His eyes darted around, and managed to spot a glare... his blade! The girl was up in a nest, and Jei wasn't sure how to get up there. Despite how hard it would be, Jei sprinted to her to retrieve the sword he always carried with him. Jei looked like Usain Bolt racing a ten year old. The leopard itched it's head in confusion... Then realizing his pray was getting away, the leopard dashed after him. Jei made it to the tree, looking up to decide his next move. ((OOC: can you describe the nest and if there is a way up?)) |

Jei soon realized his sword was missing, and Sisroo stopped her polishing as the man got close to the tree holding part of her nest. The only way up was climbing the trees or the mountain it rested against, and with the big cat on his shadow Sisroo wasn't much worried about him actually reaching her, but nobody died for being too cautious. The nest was big, around twenty feet diameter. It was held up by three trees that interlaced together right beside the steep side of the mountain, and one of it's side was supported too by the stone. The upper surface, made of leaves and twigs, shone with stolen jewelry, weapons, electronics and other assorted things she's hoarded in the past few years, growing on small mounts. Sisroo stabbed through the twigs with the nodachi, kicking some rubble over it, trying to hide the sword. She then picked up her double blade katana with her feet and glided back to the edge of her nest to keep an eye on both the man and the leopard. |

Jei was no mountain climber. However, he would attempt to climb the tree. It looked easier than climbing the mountain. His eyes glaring with anger, Jei dashed up the tree, grabbing a branch. Jei continued to exert all his energy going from branch to branch. Forgetting the animal trailing him as he focused on retrieving his blade, Jei was surprised by the leopard. The long extremities were made for the animals to be more agile, and help climb through the dangerous climate. The leopard caught up to Jei in a couple seconds. Smashing a hole in the tree, splinters and bark flew as the leopard missed it's strike. It attempted to smash Jei with it's claws, but failed. Jei had just launched himself to the next branch, and not realizing it he saved himself. Jei was in a tough spot. He could not out climb the leopard. And it was certainly hard to fight it from the angle he was at. It was even more difficult being on a tree branch... The leopard had a large advantage, but Jei figured he'd at least attempt to fight back. Placing 50% of his Nen in his left leg, Jei lifted it and conducted an axe kick which landed on the leopard's face. Falling below, the leopard crashed into the snow. Jei was a good twenty feet up, so he could still see the animal. He could see it recovering, but he wasn't sure what it was going to do. It's physical attributes exceeded Jei's at the moment, but Jei's advantage was the fact he was human. His skills with the blade could slay the beast, and it appeared Nen was more than enough as well. Jei placed his foot on another branched and pushed himself up. He felt the cold breeze in his foot... Looking down, he saw blood trickling through his boot. He must have hit the leopard's teeth... The outside of his foot was numb, probably because the kick or the cold, maybe both. He could still move so he looked up, still determined to retrieve his Nodachi. Jei couldn't see Sisroo up there but he knew she was, and his blade most likely as well. |

Jei quickly disposed of the leopard, and Sisroo halted for a moment. Rule number one for, well, pretty much anyone in any situation ever: "don't get into shit you can't handle". "Don't be stupid!" the bird shook her head, "I can handle it! It's just a puny human with hands and shit. As if he had any chance of defeating me." Sisroo took a look down the trees. Jei was already climbing his way to her nest, making her heart beat a little bit faster. She should've kept the fight down there, where he couldn't destroy her home. Nice going asshole. Sisroo held tight to her sword and decided to end it there before he went any further. She took the leap down, slowing the fall with her wings. As she neared the man hanging on the woods she tried to stab him with one of the ends. Little control over the flight and zero experience with swords made it specially hard on her, but she still had amazing accuracy and knew how to move her body just fine, and Sisroo was firm in her belief that this was enough to help her hit the target. |
