Arriving in Chance Town, as many people did when they first arrived, by chance, Hiro was looking for something specific. As his first major job as a Weather Hunter, he had learned of some schematics to an ancient sextet used by a mariner civilization centuries before to travel the world and eventually settle on the neighboring islands; with such a young culture, it was a miracle that they were able to use such a tool to travel several thousand leagues to where they would eventually settle. Looking for the schematics, he had made a cross country track across Seouljia continent in order to find the person who still bore the plans to creating the ancient device, arriving at the central hub of Chance Town, where all trash and people ended up. Avoiding a majority of the people in the town, his contact had told him that a scrap dealer in Chance Town was the person he had sold the schematics to for money, and if he was willing to take it from him, he would be able to have the plans he was looking for. Staying it what could be called a 'hotel' in some third world country, Hiro had checked in for only a few moments before he was on the streets again, looking to find the junk seller that would have what he wanted. "Excuse me maam, would you know which people sell junk in this town, i'm looking for something" Giving him a look of absolute terror, the woman had ran, with whatever strength she had left from living in constant squalor. With no one to help him, Hiro would need to investigate on his own. Looking at the people around him, Hiro could feel something about the environment had been weighing on the people heavily, turning them from ordinary citizens into fear-stricken sheep. "I look into this as well..." |

Hiro had eventually found the junk dealer, several hours after wandering through the streets of Chance Town, in a shop that had been located in what Hiro could have only assumed was a reservoir that had long since lost the water that was stored inside of it. Dozens of the townspeople had made a tiny bazaar at the center of it, locating makeshift tents and awning in order to hide their goods from the daytime sun. At the far end of the marketplace, Hiro had found the junk dealer, setting up several items on a worn wooden table that he had been using for years. "Excuse me sir, I heard you're selling an item I am interested in buying" "We don't sell to outsiders, get out of here prettyboy" Unlike the civilians that he had met around town, the man carried with him an almost aggressive arrogance. As he continued setting the items down on the table, none of them of significance. Calming himself down, Hiro tried asking the man again. "Im looking for an old sextet, and I am willing to pay any amount of money to retrieve it" Looking him directly in the eye, the man continued to set items onto the table. "Screaming Blade says we cant sell to outsiders, and that sextet you're looking for was taken yesterday, acolytes wanted it for whatever reason" |

"What is that, like a criminal group? Point me in the right direction and i'll take care of them!" Showing proof of his skill in defeating criminals, as well as many of the people in the Hunter Exam, Hiro entered into a Ren state, charging his aura with all the power he could manage to maintain within his body, he awaited the approval of the shopkeeper. "Oh, so you're one of them huh? A sorcerer? I dont think the Prophets would take kindly to you using magic against them. " Waving his hand over the items he had set outside, his answer left Hiro with more questions than anything else. If using Nen made him a sorcerer, then it meant that this Screaming Blade group was one of the few groups that had made use of Nen on this side of the country. 'Im not a sorcerer, im a Hunter, and i'm looking for the sextet; If your Screaming Blade has it, can you point me to them?" Without showing any interest, the shopkeeper continued with his tasks, setting more junk and pseudo-treasures on the table without showing any attention to Hiro in the slightest. "The Screaming Blade doesn't show up for anything, unless someone harm's their interests in Chance Town, now can you leave? I need to work..." |

"Is that right? then let me just do this..." Applying only the simplest Ren he could muster around his body, he dealt the well-worn table that the man had in items on a savage chop with his hands at the exact center of the table. Instantly the crafted work fell apart on itself, crumpling to the ground as his junk fell into the middle of the wrecked pile. The man, with a look of anger and horror on his face scrambled to pick up the now damaged trinkets that he planned to sell at an overinflated rate. "Tell those Acolytes that I'll be waiting at the fountain in the center of town, and if they plan to use magic, I'll do the same" Returning to his room first, he made sure to retrieve his halberd, already well used over the course of the past few months he had been traveling the world as a Hunter. Taking it with him, he had made his way to his desired destination, at the heart of the city several kilometers out from his room in the tenements was the famous fountain that was Chance Town's only landmark. He sat at the base around the large fountain and its surrounding waterways that lead from it. A few minutes later, likely from the shop owner's constant urging, two robed figures appeared to meet him at the fountain, each one of them obscuring their faces by keeping their cowls strategically placed over their brow and eyes. Instinctively, the men and women around the public fountain retreated in every direction out of noticeable fear of the two hooded people. "Are you from Screaming Blade? Mind taking me to your master?" Saying nothing the hooded pair drew blades from behind their backs, long straight blades that were common in rural areas, somewhat like the chokuto that many Hunter's wielded, pointing them at Hiro, they launched their attack. |

Observing his dual opponents behind a lightning fast usage of Gyo, he prodded their aura with inquisitive eyes, viewing their Ren as they began to charge themselves with a minimum of a defensive aura, they flew at him like phantoms; having called upon a brief moment of Gyo to strengthen their leg speed, they collided with a heavy sweep of Hiro's halberd, catching both blades on his axehead and tossing them easily aside. From an subtle viewing of their power, and their physical skill, Hiro reasoned that they had to have been apprentices, barely able to call upon a beginner's Ren. Defending his body with a suitable defensive aura, he split another 40% of his aura to his halberd, increasing his strength with an overwhelmingly powerful Shu, he let the battle play out in the only way it could. Keeping Hiro on a near constant defense, the cultists dealt many quick blows to his face and legs, each one trading positions with the other to further confuse the young Weather Hunter. Behind his invulnerable wall of defense, Hiro could pick out the utter lack of skill his opponents held, without any knowledge of advanced Nen techniques, the pair simply struck his empowered weapon with the light slashes and stabs of a newborn Nen user. With no threat of actually being harmed by his opponents, Hiro reveled in the battle, testing the skills of the cult that was continuing to garner his interest more and more. The men fought with the fierceness of wild animals, striking harshly as if they were warhammers, it was clear that neither of them had the necessary training to tell him enough about the cult, but it did give him an idea. Finishing the battle quickly, he weakened the amount of aura that he contained in his weapon by a drastic amount, he pushed himself between the two fighters, creating a powerful full-circled sweep of his polearm, he struck with enough force and intensity to knock both of them off their feet. Pointing the spearhead to one of the defeated acolytes, he gave them an offer. " I'm thinking of joining your little group, know who I need to speak to?" |

The two defeated acolytes, though reluctantly, followed his request and took Hiro with them to their headquarters, located deep within the underground tunnels through the city. With the rain fall and water supply in Chance Town at an all-time low, the many underground sluices and reservoir tunnels had fallen into disuse in the months following the drought. Entering into a long tunnel in the remains of what Hiro could only call a dining hall, the 3 of them had opened that hatch and slipped into the darkness underneath the city. Lead only by the dim candlelight ahead of them, the 2 Acolytes, unable to strengthen their eyes with Gyo or view the world around them with En, lead themselves only by nature of memorizing the path. Arming himself with a near constant rate of Gyo to his eyes, Hiro was able to observe at least 30 M's ahead of him, even in the near blackness of the catacomb. "The master will decide whether or not you are worthy of joining the cult, so don't get your hopes up" The long tunnel lead into a vast network of exits and entrances, likely the main hub of the city's water network, it had since been turned into a large entrance hall to what appeared to be a large structure, partially built underground and vaulted upwards above ground at all sides with smooth stone surfaces. Following the acolytes, they took him up the entrance hall and moved towards the singular entrance, a large stone wall made up of many glittering lichens that had found their way into the cracks in the stone, turning the entire wall a beautifully phosphorescent purple.
