So, I'm at the gym and I saw on the news that a Mission for Mars has launched. Not exactly sure when that happened since they didn't really explain and I was kind of distracted by some pretty girls.
Anywho. Anybody hear about this? Isn't this just pretty cool? Another moment to mark down for history of humans. I'll definitely be following this story. Does this interest anyone else?
Also, what I heard was the scientists at UC Berkely helped to fund this and I believe to create some things for the people on board. Not sure if this is just a test launch or not, either way it still seems pretty cool.

Yeah, I saw something, a few months back a "reality TV show" in 2020 (before HS2 is finish built, British government ^o) )set on mars with the first colonists basically being contestants. It wasn't on April 1st and it was news, so… Hopefully no tele-voting for evictions...

Wait, is this about Mars One? I fully assume they're going to fail horribly, but hey, I guess it's worth a shot.

I very much hope that I see humans set foot on Mars within my lifetime. I'd even sign up to go myself, though I probably have a better chance being elected President than being selected for such a mission because I don't have any special useful skills, plus I'll probably be too old anyway when they get around to doing it. I'm sad that America's space program is not more of a priority. However, I hope that Russia, China, India, Japan, or Brazil will push forward into space and will light the fire on our butts to regain the #1 spot in space!

I agree with you on that Bone, I think it'd be awesome if we could see a successful Mars landing in our lifetime. I think it would be cool to sign up for that also, but as you mentioned I doubt we could be that useful up there, unless they want entertainers.

Well, I'm not sure if I got the same story, but it sounds awesome! Hopefully the ESA or the planned "UK Space agency" would plan a thing like this, it'd be awesome, I'd go when the missions fairly stable (ie: been around for 5-10-20 years. It will be like the end of civ, who gets humans on another planet first?
