Well, now that Syria has admitted that they used chemical weapons... should the Russian plan still be a thing? I'd expect at least SOME sort of punishment for the use of chemical weapons...

As far as I know, it seems that the US is going to refrain from bombing Syria as long as Syria follows through with the Russian plan. Not sure if that's the best thing, but it seems to be what is happening now.

This whole thing reminds me of Chamberlain and 'Peace in our time'.

I was in a store today and I glanced at one of the papers and there was a headline about "Obama's new red line." Admittantly, I didn't read the whole story, but the gist of it was "Okay, if Syria uses nuclear weapons THEN we'll attack them, and I'm being serious this time." I don't know if that was entirely true, but if it was, it makes Obama look very flimsy. I've always argued against people who said that Obama has been soft on foreign policy, but this time I might have to agree with his detractors.

Well, the title of this thread just became ironic...

So Assad wants to kill hundreds of thousands of his countrymen... I say go for it. At least someone's not pretending to be someone he's not.

Well I think it was only ever the US. It was just going to be another Iraq.
The UK and Canada kept their wits!

Canada didn't say anything, we weren't getting involved no matter what, our fairly small military is still licking its wounds from the years in Afghanistan. Also the French were the one sharpening their battle axes the most, most Americans wanted nothing to do with that mess.

Haha, Obama really wanted in though (and he's a democrat) Us Canadians and British, we have some sense. :) (Canada's not pacifist, just sensible)
