Many people wonder about this and it would be interesting to see all your opinions. Should you have to pay to use the Internet? i dont mean going to an internet cafe simply just paying an ISP Edited by killer-kurt, Feb 25 2008, 03:46 PM.

I don't think you *should* have to pay for internet services. Unfortunately, every last person who has some form of internet on cell phones, iPhones, or computers has to pay for internet services. I'm all for the idea of choosing your ISP, choosing the package you want, and not have to pay a single penny for it. But then that would lose these ISP providers money, wouldn't it? Yes, I know the idea of having to pay a lofty price for dial-up, cable/DSL, satellite, and even T1-T3 connections sucks, but I'm afraid that's the way it is. |

If the net was free many people would would make sites, blogs, forums and the net will be a crowded field and when everybody has a site nobody will join other forums because they have their own site then no use of the internet . So the net should not be free |

hmmmm no i dont actualy see that as being relevant. You can still have a site without being online. I used to run a website and i never even had the net. It would just make the internet bigger and would more than likely make your site bigger as there would be more people. Takes experience to make a good site and not everyone has that. |

I can agree with this point. See, the more people online and the more choices these people have, a free internet would really bolster these users to get into the online community and be free to go wherever they want. You also have more choices of where to go, and if you like other people's sites, you can go on there. Chances are, some of these people also have sites where you can advertise your site, of course following the TOS of the site and anywhere you go. So really, you can get your forum or site out there while helping others with theirs. |

People have there own interests so it would be limited to what sites there are. I mean personaly myself i would not run a forum on sports but this dont mean i wouldent go to one. I would run a forum on programming but i still go to forums which have no relevance to mine. |

They most probably would. Just because i have a programming site i still go to others. If you have a question yourself about something and you have other programming members on your site it still dont mean you get the answer you need. Like i say in my tips for this. You need to catch the eye of interest and if you dont no matter how you do it or how many other sites there are it would not be worth doing. |
