This is a dictionary-like reference for the creatures in Horundul. A'kiel (uh-keel) - An ancient term for beasts that are used by the Arche Kingdom in most of their campaigns. They are large and black-skinned, with huge, orange-and-purple-glowing eyes that cover the upper portion of their head. They have huge mouths with teeth the size of men, but only have two limbs and a long body and tail. The limbs are quite long, but thin. They glide along the ground at high speeds, devouring all in their path. --- A'kiel'chim (uh-keel-kim) - A rare species of A'kiel, these have four legs, jointed closely together, and have round orifices on either side of their necks, each surrounded by five tentacles. A'kiel'chim are also covered in flexible scales that can be flipped without a moment's notice that bend light around them, making them nearly invisible save for when they move. A'ntel (awn-tell) - A tunneling creature used for long-distance surveillance, the A'ntel is much like slug in the front half of a spider's skeletons, with a long, smooth tail emerging from the back of its ten-legged casing. Its mucus-covered front can twist in nearly every direction and produces an acid that can eat through all but the toughest of rocks, though after sitting it has an opposite effect, solidifying into a honeycombed structure. The only signs of A'ntel above ground are small indentations if they are close to the surface, or the signature sinkhole that forms after they emerge. Blackworm - The Blackworm is a creature said to have been a portion of Armej's body before the cataclysmic battle between him and Genes. It was sealed by early Runiks within a crypt deep in the Black Forest, but was awakened by the actions of a certain necromancer and strong man. Dragon - A dragon is large beast, reptilian in appearance and usually associated with a single element. They range from the size of horses to absolute giants that could devour an entire country in mere hours, and come in shapes from the horse-like European dragon to the snake-like Asian dragon. The most famous of dragons that exist on the mortal plane were the Wrekenryu, the dragons of water, that inhabited Dragon Lake (the Frozen Sea) up until the Elemental Wars, where emigrants from the Elemental Nations began heavily hunting them to extinction. Dragons are highly intelligent, but have no actual ability to communicate with non-dragons. Dragons no longer live in the Elemental Nations, but there are large herds in the Drag'hoon Mountains, the tundra, the southern plains, and a small herd has been tamed by the Arche Kingdom for warfare. Earthen Creatures - Most Earth animals are in Horundul in some way, shape, or form. Rivven - Controlled and designed by the Arche Kingdom, Rivven are much like bat Titans, though they have several features apart from the standard bat. They have a birthmark in the shape of the Arche Kingdom's insignia, as well as formation on their back in the shape of a saddle. Its mouth contains a second tongue that can align the hard metals within its cells to form a long, spear-like appendage that can easily pierce all but the toughest armor. Titans - "Titans" is a general term regarding giant versions of normal beasts. Edited by Fission, Nov 20 2008, 07:49:31 PM.
