Horundul is a free-form fantasy, play-by-post role playing game based around an original world that is developed upon everyday, and has been (forum's age aside) for nearly five years. With a deeply developed story and well thought-out geography and history, Horundul is a world you'll surely want to inhabit.

The Keeper of History Posts: 48 Group: Resource Member #2 Joined: Oct 5, 2008	This is a dictionary-like reference for magic in Horundul. Arcanism - The study, science, and art of manipulating matter. This form of magic involves earth, water, and air. Bren (brenn) - Bren is a general term regarding the Runic magic of fire and heat manipulation. Drol (drawl) - Drol is a general term regarding the Runic magic of manipulating the lack of light and energy. This term also covers the manipulation of energy that is emitted by decaying bodies. Gaie (guy-ay) - Gaie is a general term regarding the Arcane magic of solid (earth) manipulation. How? - Magic is performed by mages/magicians/wizards/witches/warlocks/what have you by the use of merely visualizing the Runes for the spell while concentrating their power at the target. Of course, the methods vary (some use written runes to draw energy more from the surroundings themselves, etc.), but the principal remains the same. Hren - Hren is a general term regarding the Arcane magic of gas (air) manipulation. Magic - Magic is a force that is in every atom, every molecule, every small particle of creation. It is an energy that is at the base of many laws of nature. Magic as an art, a craft, is the manipulation of that energy. Different states of matter and energy are manipulated in different ways (thus the differentiation between what is "Arcane" and what is "Runic"), and the Runik race found how to eons ago with the written language of Runes. Most people can use magic, but without proper education, stronger spells can kill people from overexertion. Necromancy - The manipulation of dead spirits and physical entities is practiced using Drol magic. Perpetual Motion - Near-perpetual motion is a magic technique that uses Runes to draw energy from the area immediately around an object. These are mostly used in Clockwork mechanisms. Rae (rye) - Rae is a general term regarding the Runic magic of light manipulation. This term also covers the manipulation of the magic that living entities contain. Runism - The study, science, and art of manipulating energy. This form of magic involves fire, light, and darkness.
