Edward smiled warmly, a cold wind gripped his beard that had grown over the past few weeks. It was good to finally see the snow-covered steps of his Master's home. But the bad thing was...it was still another 2000 steps to the top...

Angel came up besides Edward, this time in the form of a young woman of about 20 since her little girl form had rotted into nothing essentially. Edward was thankful that the body just turned to dust overnight rather than becoming... pungent. Angel had found this body in a mortuary near the main capital of Hydric. They passed through there into the cold, cold mountains beyond.

Edward was not wearing his helmet for he needed to view the surrounding countryside. Edward's master, Rela, often had Sendings to do his dirty work. Disposing of intruders was dirty work but thankfully he'd forgotten to turn them on today.

Finally, Edward came upon the Chinese-style building which was the home and training ground of his Master. He had four favourites among all his students. Edward was one such favourite, even if Rela didn't care to admit it. Rela was a 0 Class mage. A retired warrior of the Unity, he was renowned nation-wide as the best mage in the Unity. But he'd not been seen for decades. Edward had his doubts as to whether he was alive!

As Edward walked into the gates of the place, he was met with slightly reverent stares from the apprentices.

"I've come home...I want to speak with Rela please." Edward spoke, looking around as an incredibly old man walked down the steps of the main auditorium. He had a white beard as long as his chest and olive-coloured eyes. His white hair receded to halfway up his head then cascaded down his back. He had wrinkles so deep that it was impossible to tell whether he was handsome or ugly.

"You're a little late Edward. What time do you call this? Idiot apprentice!" The old man spoke, his frown obvious from his look of disdain. Edward yawned and dosed on his feet as the foul-tongued old man berated him for his lateness, flabbiness and overall lack of hygiene. "OI! Pay attention idiot!" The seemingly nice old man batted Edward round the head. "You're getting slow Edward. How you've survived this long to ask for my help I'll never know..."

Edward snapped into an angry stance at that. Both of the old men barked insults at each other with an incredible ferocity. Then, something odd happened; they both burst out laughing.

"How I've missed you, ya clever bastard!" The old man laughed, taking Edward by the shoulders to the auditorium.

"I've missed you to ya old git!" Edward smiled, his arm over Rela's. Angel looked perplexed at the two older men then looked at the apprentice next to her, a man about her body's age.

"What was that all about?"

"No idea. Those two have the strangest relashionship." The young man sounded slightly envious. An Envy soon explained when the frail-looking old man closed the doors behind them with a casual snap of his fingers.
