Commoners While the two worlds of Horundul and Eborl have far more than the following, many unknown and unwritten creatures and demons, there are many creatures that seem to be more common, and make up the larger population of either world. Humans Horundul and Eborl Humans make up the base of both the population in Horundul, and Eborl, being the only creature to live in both lands. Humans in Horundul have become the dominating species, ruling the land under their iron fist. They have a a fairly large amount of magical potential and also have vast amounts of physical potential. Despite this though, the average human will die at around 100 years. Humans of Eborl once ruled the land, but fell under the might of their own creation, the Mechry. Still, they make and create most of the machinery in the land. Humans in Eborl live slightly longer than humans in Horundul, as due to mechanical and medical advances, a human can live up to 120 years before their organs fail, and they must be converted into a mechry or die. Runiks Horundul only The once thought to be extinct race, the Runiks have over the years have started reappearing in Horundul. The Runiks are thought to be creatures made in design of Genes, being tall and beautiful, as well as being well adept for magic. The Runiks are very similar to humans, although are much taller (Around two feet taller), have double pronged, pointed ears, and a much less detailed muscular system. Every Runik has an organ called "Tear of Genes", that allows magic to easily flow through the Runik, without much wear on their stamina. This means that Runiks can cast nearly limitless amounts of magic without getting tired. Runiks also have very supple joints, having features which resemble hyper mobility. They have a weaker muscular system than humans already, and the two together makes the joints of the Runiks very weak, meaning that they are unable to become very strong, and thus are not very good soldiers. Runiks live an average of 300 years. Clockwork Children Horundul only Once one of the greatest creations of the Elemental Nations, the Clockwork Children are the only pieces of remaining "technology" that have survived over the years. Clockwork children are similar to humans, although are composed of metals, gears, and magic. They are highly sentient, although their sentience is believed by some to be artificial. Some look almost exactly like people, although some are clearly defined as Clockwork children, having gears of metallic parts to their bodies. During the Arche war, there was a downfall in the manufacturing of Clockwork Children, as the materials were needed in order to make more weapons. The government stopped making them all together, and started scrapping the currently living ones in order to make more weapons after Gralden was attacked and their resources were destroyed. Half of the population was wiped out in this time to make what are now referred to as "Clockwork Weapons", normal weapons simply made out of the Clockwork citizens in the Nations. Many did survive though, and have lasted through the years, a good portion of them in warehouses in the Nations, who were not activated until recently, and have wandered into the Unity. Clockwork Children live indefinitely until destroyed. Envoys Horundul only Envoys are spirits, such as demons, and ghosts, who reside in the bodies of humans and runiks. Envoys can have different abilities as well as changing the appearance of their host. Depending on the power of the spirit, they may take full control over the host, although they generally only take a portion of the control, leaving the bigger parts to the host. Envoys can reside inside objects as well as people, but most are brought to Horundul off of the Black Plane via demonic summonings. The host can often think that they have simply gone insane. Envoys can live for quite some time, depending on the spirit in the host. Mechry Eborl only Mechry are robotic creatures that make up the better part of Eborl as well as rule the lands. Mechry can take on many forms, although all have certain features in common. All Mechry have a large Crystai core, as well as a place to put their power source (Water for steam, coal for fire, etc.). Master Mechry, are full out obvious Mechry. They are generally humanoid in shape and features, resembling their creators, although they sometimes have additional features, or resemble other creatures. They are generally goldenrod in colour, and have a "steampunk" like quality to them. Human Mechry, are Mechry that were designed and fashioned to look like humans, think like humans, and act like humans. Most actually think that they are indeed human, not even realizing that they do not drink or eat, but rather indulge upon oils and power sources. They look identical to humans. They were created when there was a great decline in humans, as a "motivational tool". Although it failed, the Mechry continued to make these beings. When a human is on the edge of dying. Mechry technology has been taken and used to make monsters as well. These can range from nearly any shape or form. They are also generally powered by impure Crystai, and thus die much quicker than normal Mechry, although are more frenzied, and will attack those who pass by them. Mechry live around 1000 years before their Crystai gives out, at which point they can just exchange it for a new one. The mind of a Mechry can live indefinitely until it is destroyed. Mechry run by impure Crystai can last up to five years before their body and their mind give out. Crystalline Eborl only Crystalline are human like creatures, that have gained the qualities of a Crystai. They were created during the "Night of Sparkling Autumn" when those who were struck with falling Crystai who did not die, had children who gained the qualities of the crystal. Crystalline can have certain densities of Crystai charge, from almost none, to a pure Crystalline, who is actually made of Crystai. The more Crystai that is in their body, the more visible it will become in their skin, hair, eyes, etc. Crystalline have the capabilities of charging and powering machinery, making them very important to the Mechry. At one point they were nearly hunted to extinction for their power, although they are now treated as royalty. The purer the Crystai in a crystalline, the more important they become, as well as gaining a better social status. Crystalline live around the same amount of time as humans at low Crystai density, and a pure crystalline can live up to 200 years. They reject Mechry-hood, and cannot become Mechry. They shorten their life span as they output large amounts of power. Ilden Eborl only An elementally affixed race that is highly discriminated against, so much so that they have been outlawed and will be killed at birth. Ilden are mutant humans, that are affixed to one of the elements, earth, fire, wind, and water, both positively and negatively. They gain the power to control and manipulate their positive element, although not create it. Their negative element, the opposite to their positive element, hinders the abilities of their positive element. Both elements often take form on their bodies. Ilden can have a multitude of various different appendages, such as claws, tentacles, wings, or tails, as well as those of normal humans. Ilden also usually have an uncommon colour of hair and eyes. Few Ilden appear to be totally normal humans. All Ildens also have a mark on their body. It can be a simple mark, or sometimes it is more complex. It can be removed, but upon doing so if the government finds out, they will hunt down that Ilden, even if they are in Vanhearst or in the UG. Ilden are exterminated at birth, being taken by the Mechry to be "cleansed". During the birthing process, they also kill their mothers. While being outlawed, Ilden have still managed to make a community in the UG, making up a part of its population, as well as a few living in Vanhearst. Ilden have never actually died of old age due to being killed early in life for all of their existence. The oldest known Ilden was 75. |
