The Awesomeness Posts: 447 Group: Admins Member #16 Joined: Oct 30, 2008	Character Information Name: Leremy "Lear" Cobalt Age: 19 Gender: Male Species: Ilden Description: Physical appearance: Lear is a grease covered teenager with dark red hair, pale skin and violet eyes. He is clearly identified as an Ilden, as he has his Ilden marking on his face under his left eye. Although it can be removed, he leaves it there so that he does not get into trouble. He is fairly well built, having powerful muscles naturally. His clothes generally consist of a simple black shirt, a pair of black pans or jeans, a gray bead necklace, his eyebrow piercing, and simple shoes. He is usually stained with grease, as he is a mechanic and is constantly fixing things around the underground. He is also rarely seen without a cigarette in his mouth, although he seems to suffer no side effects from smoking. Being a wind Ilden, he has large wings that he was born with, although his counter element, being Earth, caused them to be coated with a heavy layer of steel. This makes them look mechanical, although they are very real, and attached to his nervous system. They are about 15 feet across, but he cannot fly with them. He generally keeps them folded up on the outside of his shirt, not even bothering hiding them. It seems that both of his arms, much like his wings, are indeed also made of steel. His arms are different though, as he has multiple joints in his elbows, wrists, fingers, and shoulders, allowing a great range of movement. He is incapable of feeling texture though. He has hinted that most of his skeleton is covered in metal. As an Ilden, he does not have access to Crystai, and so carries illegal unpurified Crystai. While it does not increase his own power by very much, it disrupts the power of other Crystai when used. It is infused with his necklace, which has actually hardened around his neck, and he cannot remove it. Personality: A rather carefree spirit, much like the wind he represents. He is kind and playful, although this will on occasion be hidden by his rock hard determination and stubbornness, which often lands him in trouble. He accepts the fact that he is indeed Ilden, and neither resents it or tries to fight it, and he would rather just go on living his life. He landed a job at a young age in the Underground, becoming a mechanic, his light, agile, and small body being able to get into places that most others couldn't. He keeps at work everyday, constantly fixing broken pieces of stolen equipment from the world above, and simply accepts this to be his life. He can be a bit rebellious at times, and not listen to orders given to him. This makes him a threat to the Overworld, as he periodically will come up and cause havoc. History: It was a cold winter night. A young couple prepared as the wife was pregnant, and was going to give birth. The two were excited for the arrival of their new child and the start of their wonderful family. The two waited for hours, as the woman went through labour. They could not afford to go get help from the doctors, and so the woman had to struggle through the pain. But something was not right. As she was delivering her baby, she became very sick. Her eyes started rolling back, and she started crying, already knowing what had happened. She was going to give birth to an Ilden. The father soon figured this out as well, knowing that his wife would die slowly after the birthing process. Once the baby was born, the father prepared to kill it, in anger of his wife having to die for the monstrosity. The wife, holding the baby wrapped in a blanket, managed to say with her last breath: "Everyone deserves a chance..." As she said her dying words, the father continued to set up. He picked up the child and placed him onto a table before picking up a long knife. As he raised it above the child, the knife came plummeting down. It missed the child completely and was stabbed into the table. The father picked up the child, and carried him through the streets in secret during the night, hoping he could find someone... anyone... to take the child. It wasn't until he saw a bright light in the darkness that he found someone. The light, was coming off a person. A person who glowed in the darkness. It was another Ilden. The father begged the man to take his child, and without much convincing, he did, and the man never saw his child again. That was the story that was told to Leremy as a child. A story that showed that both of his parents truly cared for him, before abandoning him to the underground. The glowing man, a fire Ilden, raised him since he was only a newborn, treating him like his own. He taught him about the life in the UnderGround, and mechanics about the world above. Lear loved machines, and spent the better part of his childhood years building and fixing broken machines. He often would leave the UnderGround and go to Central in Aren, to steal various parts and tools he needed using his wind abilities. His father, a powerful fire Ilden warned him against such things, although taught the boy some basic fighting skills in case he every got into a scrap with any of the overworlders. He continued building and creating with his father until one day, the King of the UnderGround came and requested his father for the finest gun in all the UG. His father created a sleek, smooth, powerful shotgun, that could smash through boulders with a single shot, and presented it to the King. The King was disappointed with the weapon, as it took too long to reload. Lear, who happened to be nearby at the time, gave the King his own gun. The gun was a tiny pistol, not smoothed, and made out of scrap metal, although it had multiple barrels on it, each holding 12 long narrow bullets, giving the gun a grand total of 36 shots, and it could be reloaded while it fired. The King approved of the weapon, and it shocked his father. The two were paid well, and Lear was able to buy actual equipment and materials, instead of using his fathers scraps. Lear himself quickly became a well known mechanic, much like his father, and began fixing various objects around the city. He was soon asked by the King himself to work for him, although he turned down the job, simply wanting to work for the people. He continued his job for many years until he heard about he Crossing of the Belt of Sola, at which point he ventured into the land of magic. Combat Information Fighting Style: Sharp-shooter: Lear's primary method of fighting is shooting his foes with his own custom made guns. He has a large range of them, although usually only uses a pistol since it is easiest to carry around, although he still has a well aimed shot with it. He uses a gun similar to the one he presented to the King, being able to reload it while firing. Hand to hand: Lear makes a great hand to hand fighter, as both of his hands are made of steel. While this doesn't do much against other metallic creatures, such as the Mechry, he can pummel a human with his superior skin any day. His wings also make useful weapons, that can be used as both a shield and as a weapon, since they are sharp. Ilden Element: His element being wind, Lear has the ability to move air around, and slash with it. While he is not very good with the skill, as his metal arms try to negate his power, as well as slow him down, he can use it to a point where it can sometimes be useful. Strong Techniques: Crystai Disrupt: Using his own Crystai he can disrupt Crystai around him, as it is not purified. It certainly gives him an upper hand against those who rely on their Crystai too much. During this time, Lear will be unable to think clearly, and will become aggressive.
