* Two weeks later*

The sky's pinkish hue had taking over the whole land colorizing everything it reached . The sun was leaving the sky as the moon was ready to take the next shift Hasani stood in his normal spot being the fourth floor. He loved standing there because the view he had of the village.

Hasani had a lot on his mind. From the moment he had deflowered the virgin he had put one of his loyal cousin's to watch over her. He was also a warrior who killed many in his time. He knew he would let nothing happen to her... He also had him watching over her because he didn't want word to get out that he had slept with some one other then his wife.

No Pharaoh ever did.

"Hasani." A rough voice called out softly blending in with the wind.

He turn around to be greeted by the face of his dear cousin Khenti
He turned around giving him all his attention.

"What is this about?" He groaned pertaining to his after noon being interrupted.

"Nafrit... she's pregnant."

Hasani eyes scanned his cousins face and saw nothing but seriousness on his face but it felt surreal to him. How would he explain this to Kebi.

As he was about to open his mouth another voice cut him off.

"Hasani." Kebi's voice rung through the room.

His heart beat sped up , what if he heard what Khenti had just said ...and how long has she been in there.

"Yes love." He responded looking at her. She looked more excited then angry.

She ran up to him and placed her hand in his.

" I'm with Child!" she said while jumping for joy.

Her jewelry clanked together as she bounced like a kangaroo, her smile was bigger then he's every seen it.

"Amaunet heard my prayer Hasani." She yelled her voice echoed through the village.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a passionate kiss.

"That's wonderful , my love ." He whispered against her lips.

He smiled masking the suppressed urges he had to scream out.

He had to find a way to hide this.

--------------

* Eighteen Years Later *

" Charmis!" Kebi yelled out angrily.

Her sandy brown hair blew in the wind as she crossed her arms.

"Yes mother." Charmis replied as he walked up to his mother.

He looked every where in the palace but at her, he knew he was in trouble by the tone of her voice.

She gently lifted his chin so he could stare in her now dark green orbs.

" Why did you tell Akim to go home?"

" I was tired." He lied. Truth be told , Charmis hated being home schooled. It made him feel secluded from the out side world. He hated not being able to be out with people his own age. All around the day he was surrounded by people who where older then him. The only young people he saw were the younger servants but they never sat and talked to him. The young girls would come and start giggling around him and say how cute he was before running off. The wouldn't even look him in the eyes. He felt like an out cast.
Some times he would go out side at the time he knew school was out and look around the village at the teens laughing and carrying on... he wish he was them.

"Tell me the truth, Charmis what is the reason of sending your teacher home ... in order to be a great Pharaoh the best Pharaoh at that you must know how to read and write." she said with a sigh. She hated to yell at him but she knew if she wanted the best out of him she would have to lay some kind of discipline.

"It's my birthday mom I just wanted a break." he said with his eyes shifting around the well decorated hall way.

"You're right, but you will be rewarded later." She said trying not to reveal the surprised she and his father had in store for him at his eighteen birthday party.

"I'll let you get away with it today but don't let it happen again." she said as her face soften up.

Kebi could never stay angry at him for long he was her first born and only child.

She rubbed the side of his face gently admiring his features he had grown up from a boy and tonight would be considered a man. His bone structure was as defined as his father and his voice had matured to. He stood way above her at a height of 6 '2.

" Go get ready your party is in a few hours."

She said shooing him away, with a smirk on her face.. her little Pharaoh is growing up.

-------------------------

* Some where on the opposite side of the village *

The invitation of Charmis party had spread around the whole entire village from the fortunate parts to the not so fortunate parts. A messenger boy would go to each home , school or place where he saw a group of young people and would hand them the brown papyrus which. The papyrus was rolled up and had gold ribbon wrapped around it for decoration.

Eighteen year old Trent stood under the shack that he'd build single handily hoping he would get some customers today. He did anything and everything he could to make sure he and his mother could have money. He had be come the man of the house since his father was never around.

So he sold Figs,Barley, onions, beans, grapes, melons and everything else he could at the little market he made in front of his shop. The local neighbors would always buy from him.. so it helped a little.
It was enough for sheet's in the winter time. His neighbor's were people less fortunate so business wasn't great it was never great ... just enough.

The sun was at it's highest peak in the sky and he was getting hotter by the minute beads of sweat rolled from on his forehead to his chest. Every position he moved around to stand in the sun still reached him and to make matters worse his bare chest and back were exposed.

He was in the middle of placing the the fruit in order when he heard something ruffling. Looking up he was greeted by a pair of gray orbs.

"You stay home today."

"Yea , I do what I must you know my situation Khrami."

'Yea , yea but your also still a teen."

Trent rolled his eyes at his friend from child hood. He was always going on about how Trent needed to relax and take a break from being "the man of the house" but it was easy for him to say he had a father who was very successful. His father was so successful he lived in the land of the free and wore big business suits. While Trent's mother had to grow Flax in order to get linen to sew their clothes together. Kharmi's mother had her's made in expensive clothes sent from the land of the free.

Some days Kharmi would come to his house dressed differently. He once told Trent that this was the way they dressed where his father lived. At first he thought the style of the clothes looked funny..but after a while he got used to seeing them and thought they where pretty cool.

" I know Kharmi..." Trent said rolling his eyes.

"Well... " He said pulling out a brown paper out of his pocket it wasn't until he finished unfolding it that Trent realized it was a invention.

"There's a party tonight the Pharaoh's party, you coming?"

Trent looked around not knowing what to really say.

He'd never been to a party before, yet alone a birthday party for a Pharaoh.

"Isn't your birthday today?"

"It was Yesterday." Trent mumbled his mother at decorated the room with different kinds of fruits symbolizing growth and beauty. It was an Egyptian tradition to do it because it would bring good luck in the year.

"Well just use today as a late celebration."

Trent nodded his head... maybe it was time he took a break and this party would be it.

"Who do you think is going to be at the party?" Trent asked Kharmi as they walked along the path that lead to the palace.

"All the teens round this way and further that could make it." Kharmi replied with a big smile.

The closer they got to the palace the more people they saw.

When they finally arrived to to the palace they realized the door was spilling with teens who where excited about being inside royalty's home.

As Trent made his way inside his heart skipped a beat as he made eye contact with the girl he has been crushing on every since he could go to school. He stared at her radiant bronze skin and her jet black hair which stop at her shoulders. She smirked at him and at that moment he felt his inside warm up.

"She's here." Trent said whispering to Kharmi.

"Who?"

"Renell."

"Oh here we go again you and this girl."

"What? I really like her Kharmi."

"The why don't you let her know?"

"I don't know." Trent said lowly. Truth is he thought that if he told her a girl as beautiful as that would never want to be with a guy as poor as poor as he is. Women in Egypt dream of being spoil... after Cleopatra VII every girl wanted a life like that.

He couldn't even buy clothes so to wear the only thing he could provide her is food from his back yard.

He pushed the thought in the back of his mind.

---------------------

Beautiful women walked in an orderly manner towards the middle of the floor all of them dressed in white like the goddess Isis. The youngest one starts up a dance where she pulls her long white dress up with one hand and the others join her. Every single girl does the same routine not missing a beat. They dance to the rhythm of the beat celebrating that the Pharaoh was born on this day.

The Pharaoh stood on the fourth floor looking down at the beautiful girls dance. His 6'2 frame drape in gold Egyptian material. A huge gold chain on his neck held a sculpture of the double crown. The double crown meant that he had the power to rule bother upper and lower Egypt. A gift from his father for be coming a man.

He was please by the whole idea of getting a huge party to celebrate his birthday. He always wanted to be surrounded by teens and here he was finally with people his own age. Some one must of realized how he felt.

"Hey Trent." Renell said approaching him.

"Hey." he replied calmly while inside his heart race was speeding.

"I didn't think I'd see you here."

"Why?" He asked though he knew the answer.

He isn't a social person even at school while the other students would talk to one another he's stay to himself unless the teacher spoke to him. The only person he really talked to at school is Kharmi.

She thought hard because she didn't want to offend him in any way.

"Nothing.. I'm just not used to seeing you outside of school."

Renell had a crush on Trent for a long time her self.

She just never found the right time to tell him.

Now that they where out of school she felt like this would be the perfect chance to talk to him and maybe let her feelings out.

What he didn't know is she knew how poor he was. She knew how much he struggled because she was too. But like him she was too embarrassed about her situation they lived in the same area but she never let him know that instead of her going to buy products her older sister went.

"You look beautiful." he said surprising both himself and Renell.

He stared into her gray orbs as she stared into his brown ones.

" Want to dance." He asked as human nature took its course.

A male couldn't help to be around a female who he liked with out showing some sort of affection it was just in there nature to protect and also to claim what they felt was there's.

She placed her hand in his as they swayed back and fourth they did a two step before he pulled her closer to him. Her Egyptian ancestors seem to take over her mind body and soul as she started to belly dance around him. Trent's eyes watched closely as she moved her tone belly to the beat of the drums in the song.

Trent doesn't remember how he got there but the next thing he knew his hands where rubbing along her sides and then playing with the chain she placed around her hips as decoration. He moved up so close that his lips brushed against her. Neither him or Renell remember who kissed who first they just knew they where in a blissful fire passionate kiss.

It felt like seven minutes of heaven as his lips connected with hers that didn't last long before she pull away. Her cheeks flushed red as she stared at him.

"I have to go." She said quickly before rushing away.

Standing there in a moment of complete confusion Trent wondered to himself what just happen..but that was only the beginning of a soon to be very confusing night.

Charmis sat on a thrown made of gold watching the beautiful ladies finish up the dance they practice all month long just for him. When they where done they cleared the floor and his mother called for him.

Once he made it to the floor his father came and stood next to him.

"As you guys know Charmis will be the next King."

The crowd rumbled with noises some saying yes ... some screaming with joy others just smiling.

"Well every King needs a queen... so as a present for you on your eighteen birthday tonight we will reveal to you your wife.. it's been arrange for you to marry her for a long time now and your mother and I did a good job keeping this a secret." Hasani said with a smirk.

"So with that said, here she is."

The whole room grew silent as a women walked in , she was draped in gold from head to toe. Her top was similar to a bra and hand on a gold wrap around dress that stopped on her feet. All the guest including Charmis stared at this mysterious women...what made her so mysterious was the gold vale she had covering her face hiding her identity.

After she finally made her way in the middle of the circle the crowed was silently starring at her.

Slowly she took her vale off revealing her face.

The crowd roar with 'oh's and ahh's' as the beautiful young lady showed her face to the future of Egypt.

While the crowd was in total bliss by it Charmis took in her beauty.

She was memorizing, he had heard the horror stories about how a king would be arranged with a girl and when he would meet her she would be a she wolf. He thanked the gods that he his self wasn't a victim to that killer.

His eyes scanned her well proportion body he was dying to touch her.

"Go ahead you two don't be shy..." Hasani said before laughing a full throat laugh.

Charmis swallowed hard nervous the first thing he thought to do was pull her into a friendly hug .. and that's exactly what he did.

The crowd not realizing his discomfort cheered for the future king and queen of Egypt.

Charmis felt something he never felt as he hugged her he took in the scent of her coconut scented perfume oil and felt warm inside.

"Awe I think he likes her." Kebi whispered to her husband with a smile.

Every one in the room stared at the two in awe except for one person.

As the seconds go by Trent felt his heart breaking but though he was in pain for some reason
he couldn't tear his eyes away from her. He kept wondering why would she do that to him. After moments of torturing himself he decided to look away he looked away.

Kharmi saw his friend in pain and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Maybe we should leave." He said feeling bad for him.

"No we can stay." He surprised himself with his answer but something inside of him had to find out why she did that to him.

-------------------

Charmis sat across from Renell they where away from the loudness of the party.

His parents set up a place for them and only them two to be.

Amazed by her beauty he just stared at her , not realizing that they weren't saying anything.

"So Pharaoh." Renell said breaking the silence.

"Yes?" He replied being knocked out of his thoughts.

"What's wrong?" she asked him.

It was ironic because the person who was really in pain here was her.

She really liked Trent but after tonight she would never be able to be with him.

Her mind kept wondering back to the moment where they kiss, the kiss had so much connection on her end she kept having flash backs of how nice and brown his orbs where and how he looked in the middle of the crowd once they announce her as the future queen. It pain her so much she didn't know if she'd be able to deal with herself.

"Nothing," he said looking away from her.

She stared at him trying to figure him out.

While starring at his side profile she couldn't help but notice how handsome he was , his bone structure was so define and so masculine but yet held this innocent look about it.

Eventually her thoughts did a marry go around and she found her self thinking about Trent.

She had to get to him and tell him what was going on ... she felt like if she didn't he would hate her forever and she just couldn't have that.

"Trent"

A voice called out in the darkness of the night.

He turned around squinting his eyes trying to catch anything that he saw moving.

"Who is it." His husky voice roared through the the crisp air.

He had enough tonight and all he wanted to do was go home.

After waiting on Renell he had grew tired, she had disapered with the Pharaoh for hours and after a while he couldn't take it anymore.

He had left without telling Kharmi a word and now he was half way home.

When the voice didn't answer he got curious he almost thought there was no one there until he saw the object coming closer, the moon shone from above causing a silhouette of a female to appear just by the look of her body he knew who it was.

Sucking his teeth he started walking away.

"Trent wait."

"What do you want from me Renell." he said picking up his pace.

She had to jog to catch up with him. Then speed walk in order to be walking next to him.

"Trent please listen to me." She pleaded

He was loosing all patients.

"Talk." he responded with out even a glance her way.

"I know you don't understand what went on in there but I would like to tell you I had no choice in any of my actions."

Trent paused then turned around to look at her.

" You mean you couldn't tell me that you where suppose to be marrying Pharaoh? "

"It just recently happen." Renell blurted out.

"Look Renell you don't have to lie to me every body knows that arrange marriages our set up while your mother is pregnant, so you should have known this."

" I'm not the one he was arranged with."

"What?" Trent questopned while furrowing his brows.

" I had a twin, she died six months after we where born."

"Wow."

" So me and my parents told us that who ever was home the time that the messenger came to get the new queen we would be taking my sisters place."

Trent rubbed his eyes it was to much to quick.

He just went from kissing her, to finding out that she's the lands future Queen.

He needed time to digest this.

"Trent."

"Yes Renell?" He replied with no tone.

"I'm sorry." He nodded his head and walked away.
-------------------------------

" Oh Renell you looked so beautiful." Her older sister squealed.

"Thanks Lisetta"

"Oh no problem, so how did Pharaoh's mouth taste." she asked with a smirk.

Renell wrinkled her nose up not wanting to answer that question. Lisetta always had a way of asking things in an inappropriate way.

"I didn't go there to find out what his mouth tasted like."

Renell replied as calmly as she could.

She and her sister had always had there dis agreements but now and days it seems as if they where getting worse and worse.

" If I was queen I would know what his lips taste like, I bet there sweeter then honey." Lisetta replied adding on to her own fantasy.
