I'm a big fan of Sodagreen, the indie band. I got hooked on that song 'Shi Wo De Hai'--'It's My Sea'. I bought the album from their first big arena concert and Wu Qing Feng sings it so movingly. I have it as the ringtone on my mobile phone. It's good because it starts with just some insistent piano notes.
They're playing in Taipei this weekend, and then they're heading to Shanghai at the end of October for some bog concerts there. Two friends of mine have great seats--4th row back.
Does anyone else like them?

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't known of them until you mention them now. But what other songs do you recommend? I want to check it out before diving in.

I've heard Little Love Song. Jam Hsiao did a cover version of it that was on TW MTV early last year.

There's another nice song with an MV on YouTube called 'Little Universe/Microcosmos'. There las album was called 'Spring' and it's a bit upbeat and chirpy, but the new one that's just out is called 'Fever'. I haven't heard anything from it yet, though. It's already registering in the charts, though.
I think the lead singer, Wu Qing Feng has a sort of high, reedy voice, but the dude on piano and viola is really talented. And some of the melodies are really nice.

Thanx for the links, DTLCT. I had only seen one of the articles. I have the opening bars of 'It's My Sea' as the ringtone on my mobile. A friend of mine is currently in Shanghai and she met a guy there who has the concert version on the song on HIS mobile. Hurray! The song starts with some insistent piano notes so it's like someone knocking on the door or something. LOL

That's a bit funny. What if someone knocks on the door for real? Just kidding.

And I need to check out their music soon. Still haven't.

Sodagreen had a tremendously successful concert in Shanghai on Saturday night. They sang songs from their Spring and Fever albums, some covers and then some of their most famous songs like Shi Wo De Hai (my favourite!) as encores. A friend of mine who attended the concert wrote a very evocative post about it. The famous blogger who writes One Day in May was also there, wearing a green wig in homage to lead singer Wu Qing Feng! LOL

I'm looking forward to catching up with Fever, their London album.

There's a blog where the writer has begun to translate Sodagreen's weekly blog entries into English. She has started with Week 100. It's very well done and interesting.
