Did anyone else see that article on AF News Portal about Sam Wang and Ming Dao and Qiao En possibly not renewing their contracts? It could be the usual rumour mill, and none of it will come true, but I wonder... I have the address of (one of?) Sam's bakery cafes and I thought it would be fun to visit it on a forthcoming trip to Taiwan, not to 'stalk' Sam but just to have a look. |

I just read it through your link. It could be like you said with trying to create the hype. But I wouldn't be surprise if they don't renew. Who knows? Regarding Sam's bakery - I understand why you would want to check it out. I visited the website before and saw the food and read some of the details. It looks promising. |

What website? Does Uncle Sam's Bakery Cafe have a website? I just got some photos of it from his thread on AF and I posted just a bit on it on my blog in a post that was a big round-up It looked very nice and a fan's parents said the bagels were good! I know one year Sam became very tired with all his work in both bands and appearances on variety shows, etc., and apparently he had some kind of breakdown on stage and they got his father to ring him and cheer him up. It could have been a bit contrived, but he did really look tired. I've always though Sam had a lot of common sense and it's great that he's making plans beyond showbiz. |

Yes, Uncle Sams' Bakery have a website, lol. Here: http://www.unclesams.com.tw/ (You click on different options after the intro screen, which includes art designs by Sam - I think - and the bakery itself.) I like how Sam's going through with his bakery place too since he really want to do it. And it proves he's not all about talks, lol.

I found another article about Sam opening another branch of Uncle Sam's in downtown Taipei. I think, the gods being willing, a friend and I will probably check it out now that we won't have to travel into the outskirts of the city to go to the first one. Maybe in January we will be there. I just wrote a post about it on my blog Thanks for the link--I'll have to add it to the post. I totally agree. I think Sam is making a very mature decision and looking after his future. I hope he does still make a few appearances, though. |

I think Sam's still very popular among fans so for their sake, I think he would still make some appearances. I haven't even checked out Mo Nu 18 Hao with him and Joyce (and the rest of the Your Home Is My Home cast) yet. But might later. I heard Ehlo's making an appearance in there too. And thanks for the link to blog post, going to stalk now. |

Is that Sam's new drama? I have not seen him in anything since Mean Girl Ah Chu. He was funny in that, in my opinion. I think that idols usually take advantage of rumours about not renewing their contracts--so maybe they will get a better deal. |

tiantang, yes, Mo Nu 18 Hao is latest one and I checked the info some more later and saw that Tony Sun and Ehlo Huang also made guest appearances? It actually ended at 80 this time and not long winded like 'Your Home Is My Home' although it's still considered long. |

Do you mean 80 eps? And is there any news about J-stars not renewing their contracts? |

Here's a sort of follow up: http://asianfanatics.net/forum/Joe-Chen-Qiao-En-might-leave-her-company-talk695178.html But still unclear as of now. But the date is coming close at the end of their contract so we'll see. And yes, I meant 80 episodes. (Sorry didn't reply before.) Edited by DTLCT, November 4, 2009, 12:07 am.

Sun DeRong seemed really angry in that article. I thought when he said that bit about Chen Qiao En and having 'frozen' her in the past as just part of her education process, that was really condescending. I think he must be a good manager for young artists just learning the ropes but he never seems to let them grow up. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she does leave the company--gratitude or no gratitude! |

What gratitude? Even if I'm not her fan, I could see how SDR was doing the whole 'favorites' thing with artists. I think he's just using all these excuses now because she's more famous. (Refer back to what happened to Show Luo and how far he has gone now.) They said that Tony, Zax, and MD might renew theirs? (I think they've more luck so it might be all right for them to renew. I meant Tony and Zax still has hosting jobs and has been on other shows, right? MD has been having dramas left and right so he's at an advantage.) |

Yes, I agree that Tony and Zax have done really well over a number of years with 5566 and all those albums and countless hosting jobs on variety shows and appearances, etc. etc. The article seemed to indicate that MD is fairly satisfied with things as they are. It is a risk when they leave a company for new management. Some of the ex-J-stars have been more succesful than others...Let's see what happens and see how much of it is media hype or maybe the artists themselves trying to wring a few more dollars out of SDR. LOL |

When was Sun De Rong not mad? He always want to pick a fight with others anyway. |
